View Article  The Sounds of Silence (Are Wonderful)!
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21

Around 4PM today I realized there were no motorcycles!  Silence is wonderful.  We need not worry about them for another year.  Now the only pain will be "Hell Week" - that's the week between Christmas and New Years.  Every idiot comes to Ruidoso to ski, with our without snow.  The most fun is watching the stupid tourists walk around in their fancy new ski outfits when it is 70 degrees or warmer.  (Yes, they do).  Then they also wear their lift tickets around town, as if it were some big deal.  The summer tourists are mellow, but ...   more »

ALL GOOD THINGS...

I'm no Yankee fan, but this is a heart-breaking day.  I know the pros and cons for the move, but it is enough to even cause me to shed a few tears.  Baseball is destroying its history for the sake of shiny new ball-parks that rake in the money. Michele Catalano at JPMedia has a commentary today that puts it all into perspective. The Sun has a list of great moments in the history of Yankee Stadium.  This started me thinking, what do I consider the greatest moment in the history of Yankee Stadium?

Oh, that's ...   more »

OBAMA HAS ONE
Once upon a time there was a wonderful country that was described as a 'shining city on a hill' where people were free.  Once upon a time people living in that wonderful country had the freedom to grow up to be the president, vice president or even a dog-catcher if that's what they wanted to do.  Once upon a time people in that wonderful country had to freedom to be rich or poor.  They could basically do what they wanted to do.  If a person wanted to buy one pair of shoes a week, no problem.  If ...   more »
View Article  MUST READ UPDATE: The Delete Sarah Palin from the UN Rally
AN HONORABLE REPLY
Yesterday I did something a little different by copying something sent to me by my friend and Pink Flamingo reader, Sally Vee.  Well, I'm doing it again - as a follow-up to yesterday's postthe way Sarah Palin was dis-invited by the organizers of the rally against Iran at the UN.  Sally received a reply from one of the organizations involved.  It is very illuminating and a "MUST READ".  I am going to just basically copy and paste it is that important.

"I received the email below from a Marvin Belsky. He sent it to me plus ...   more »

CHINA'S MELAMINE PROBLEM
According to the official version, only a few babies have died.  Now in Japan, traces of melamine have surfaced in a handful of products.  Officials, of course, say melamine is not 'toxic' and so far only a baby or two have died. But then, in China, they'll do just about anything to get rid of babies, especially if they are girls.  That's a cheap shot, I know, but it's all about money and greed.  Chilling new information unearthed by the Sunday Herald point to government cronyism and corruption.

We're not hearing much about it in this ...   more »
