YOU SAY YOU WANT A REVOLUTION?
Rarely does The Pink Flamingo do a copy of a letter sent from a friend, but this one is important.  It comes from my friend and regular Pink Flamingo reader Sally Vee.  It has recently been discovered that the reason Sarah Palin was "dis-invited".  Evidently the usual Obama sources have threatened the non-profit status of the organizations involved.  Like a bunch of lilly-livered cowards, they have decided to make it "non" political, rather than allow "Our Sarah" to attend. WCBS-TV has more on the subject.
"...Sources tell CBS 2 HD that a decision to disinvite Palin from the high profile rally after Clinton pulled out in a huff came as the result of intense pressure from Democrats.

"This is insulting. This is embarrassing, especially to Gov. Palin, to me and I think it should be to every single New Yorker," Assemblyman Dov Hikind, D-Brooklyn, told CBS 2 HD.

Sources say the axes were out for Palin as soon as Sen. Clinton pulled out because she did not want to attend the same event as the Republican vice presidential candidate.

"I have never seen such raw emotion -- on both sides," said someone close to the situation.

The groups sponsoring the rally against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad speaking at the UN were reportedly told, "it could jeopardize their tax exempt status" if they had Palin and not Clinton or Democratic VP candidate Joe Biden on hand.

So all politicians were disinvited, most prominently, Palin.

"It's an absolute shame that this has happened," Hikind said. "To threaten organizations … to threaten the Conference of Presidents that if you don't withdraw the invitation to Gov. Palin we're going to look into your tax exempt status … that's McCarthyism."

Another Jewish group tried to step into the breach by inviting Palin to a different protest a day earlier.

"I'm absolutely appalled at the behavior of the Democrats," said Bob Kunst of Defenders.net. "I'm a Democrat and for the first time in my life I'm going to vote Republican. I can't take it anymore."..."
You can get the whole story from Hot Air.

FROM SALLY VEE
A friend spent the better part of the day yesterday compiling an email list for each of the 50+ Jewish organizations that make up the membership of the Conference of Presidents, which dis-invited Governor Palin to Monday’s planned rally to protest Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the United Nations. The list contains all the emails she could find from member websites, officers & directors plus affiliates or regional offices, where available.

The best part is: you only need to write one letter and send one email. When your note is written, highlight and copy the entire list below. Then paste it into your "To" window and your email program should automatically separate the addresses by comma in one long list. Then click "Send" -- and bear in mind that sending may take a bit longer than usual. I just did it and it worked perfectly.
Here is my friend Carolyn's letter:
Subject: Your Decision on Rally Against Iran
September 19, 2008
Mr. Hoenlein et al,
I am a proud American Jew.  But today, I am thoroughly ashamed by your short-sighted and destructive action in dis-inviting Governor Sarah Palin from Monday’s planned rally to protest Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the United Nations.

Under cover of trying to de-politicize the event, you have in fact injected total partisanship into an issue that should otherwise unite not only all Jews, but all Americans.  Rather than kow-tow to the temper tantrums of one political party or the other, your role should have been to encourage, if not demand, the bi-partisan participation of representatives from both political parties.  If one side refused, that would reflect on them, not on your organization or, more importantly, the issues at stake: the future of Israel and the Jewish people, and America's commitment to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

All I can imagine now is that Mr. Ahmadinejad is laughing all the way to the United Nations.

Subject: Appalling
September 20, 1939?
Mr. Hoenlein et al,
Wow, you guys screwed up big time. My husband and I are Christian supporters of Israel and Jews everywhere. You've turned the upcoming protest rally into a circus that only benefits the terrorist Ahmadinejad and all the tyrants and Jew haters of the world. Great thinking.

Your organizations are most obviously taking instructions from the DNC. How pathetic and shameful. This was an opportunity to raise a bi-partisan, unified voice against terror and rabid anti-Semitism. But you've made it clear that your loyalty is to the Democrat party, at the expense of a much greater cause. The damage is incalculable. We are truly appalled.

Ahmadinejad Match Point; Humanity 0 - Peggy Shapiro
"...Sometimes it is one decision at one moment that determines the game, and one decision at one moment that shapes history. The presidents of major Jewish organizations had that moment to show the united strength of Jews and all Americans against Ahmadinejad, the man who proudly declares his plan to destroy Israel, assume dominion over the Middle East and rid democratic (small d) nations of the freedoms we cherish. With the world watching New York, as the denier of one Holocaust and planner of another, steps into the public arena, there should be a wall of Americans standing together in opposition.

There are very few Jews and a multitude of enemies, so every leader and every citizen who stands with Israel should be embraced. Yet in a confounding decision, the rally organizers disinvited all politicians, including Sarah Palin.  Don't invite fewer! Invite more! Invite the entire Congress and every governor and major and village committeeman in the nation. Without the backing of American political leaders, the rally loses its power and with the "disinvitation," it loses its focus.

The rally leaders, who should be wiser, succumbed to cowardly and petty politics, thus squandering the opportunity to speak up for Israel, the nation that represents the Jewish hope for almost 2,000 years. Because Hillary Clinton felt slighted that she would not be the "star" among the speakers, these leaders placed the concerns of one self-serving American politician above the lives of almost six million Jews who are marked for death in Ahmadinejad's diabolical plans.

The "leaders" weakened the numbers and the moral cause of the protesters who will gather to oppose the threat of a nuclear Iran. They also humiliated a friend of Israel, who may be a future Vice President or even President. In this deadly game against a cruel adversary, the Presidents of Jewish Organizations handed Ahmadinejad a victory and lost a battle for humanity...."

Here is the list -- thank Carolyn! Remember: highlight the entire list, copy, then paste into your "To" window where it will automatically separate by commas and send to the entire list in one operation:

MY LETTER
I was so very proud of Sarah Palin and the fact that she had been invited to speak at the very important anti-Iran rally at the UN.  I thought it was rather “small” of Hillary Clinton to pull out, but that was her problem.  I heard that Joe Biden was going to be attending, which was appropriate.  Both VP candidates were to be there, equal time, equal attention.  Then, I heard that Sarah Palin had been dis-invited and the entire affair declared “non-political”.   I was disgusted and appalled.

We are living in a world that is on the brink of a terrible war for civilization.  Petty politics have absolutely no place when it comes to facing down a perverse and irrational bully who wants nothing more than to see the destruction of both the United States and Israel. Sarah Palin’s voice is just as important as that of Hillary Clinton.  Indeed, considering that Governor Palin has a very good chance of being the next Vice President of the United States of America, her voice may just be a bit more important than Senator Clinton’s.

Then we are told that someone has been threatening the non-profit status of any organization involved if Sarah Palin appears – because there will not be an equal balance of someone from the “other party”.  The problem is, there are far more Democrats appearing at the event as Republicans.  Perhaps it is time for those of us who are Republican and friends of Israel to demand equal time.

Is this a “Democrats only” event?  If so, shouldn’t the title include the word “Democratic”.  The last time I looked, Republicans were much more interested in the preservation of Israel as a nation than are Democrats, who have a love/hate relationship with Israel.  Republicans, as a party have been out-spoken in our help and assistance in preserving Israel as a nation.  We have insisted on providing moral, physical, and financial support for Israel.  Perhaps it is time we were recognized for our support.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a horrible person.  He will stop at nothing to see that Israel is destroyed.  He will stop at nothing to see that the United States is destroyed.  Right now he must be laughing at the impotent and pathetic attempt you are making to protest the fact that he is in the United States.  If a group of people cannot stand up to the petty tyrants who are supporting Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and allow Sarah Palin, who is an outspoken supporter of Israel, to attend, then how can you possibly  expect to stand up to Ahmadinejad?

I don’t know who is the worst: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad; the Democrats who have demanded Sarah Palin not be allowed to attend your rally; or the organizations who are so spineless they cannot stand up against a few obnoxious little party operatives.  If this is the kind of friendship you offer for Israel, God help the nation of Israel.  It doesn’t stand a chance.

I am a proud Republican and supporter of John McCain and Sarah Palin.  I am a Christian (Episcopalian) and a strong supporter of Israel.
