DEMOCRATS EXPOSING THEMSELVES

AJ Strata has the right idea.  Congratulations to Sarah & Todd Palin who are about to become grandparents for the first time!  Would that all babies were born into families where they are loved and cherished!

George Archibald has quite a bit to say about liberals and their weird view of babies. The liberal/Democrat mind-set isn't handling this very well.  In fact, they're acting like a bunch of babies 'decomposing' as I called it with my sister's children when they were little, ready to pitch a temper tantrum because they can't get their way.  The problem is they don't know what they want, so they simply cry, pound their fists, and basically give everyone around them a headache. For once "Christian" Conservatives are actually behaving like "Christians".  I'm rather proud of them.  I think it just proves that life is life.

I can't imagine a 17 year old wanting to be a parent, but if that's what the young parents wish, then they have my prayers for a good life.  There are other considerations with these young parents, and those considerations are no fault of their own.  They would have gone through the normal struggle all normal teenage parents go through.  So would their parents.  Now though, Bristol Palin is finding herself a poster child for Democrats behaving badly.

There is no real way this baby could be put up for adoption now, even if the parents wished to do do so.  The intrusive press would make all lives concerned a living hell.  If Bristol's mother has the career a few of us think she is going to have, the poor kid is going to be living in a fish bowl for many years to come.  The way I see it, Bristol's baby could conceivably be pushing Bristol's age now when "Grandmother" Palin withdraws from the public stage.

That's the great sadness of all of this.  The Palin children did not sign on for the malicious probing the Democrats and the press are going to subject them to.  Through no fault of their own, and through no fault of their parents, they are now going to be in the spotlight.  If nothing else, this shows the huge difference between Democrats and Republicans.  Do you see us delving into the private life of Joe Biden's children?  (I'm not, even though there are rumors.... but it is none of my business).

So what if Bristol Palin is pregnant.  She’s alive.  She’s sane.  From what I gather she’s sober and not addicted to drugs.  She hasn’t run away from home and is turning tricks on the street. You can't force values, you live by example and hope it sticks - and this comes from someone who has no children.  Years ago when I was dripping with moral authority I might have been offended, but today I no longer feel that way.  Watching those around me struggle to raise their teenagers and push them through the sieve of life into being "successful adults", I am just thankful I've been spared that joy.

I've learned that there are far worse things in life than a 17 year old daughter who is pregnant, by a boy her age.  The father could have been twice her age.  She wasn't seduced by a 29 year old man who had a habit of seducing girls her age.  (I've seen that happen). I've recently seen a teenager's life destroyed by her father who repeatedly molested her.  I've seen the agony her mother went through as they waited to discover if the child was pregnant.

I've seen a very bright child throw her life away because she fell in with the wrong 'set'. I've seen a very promising young musician literally cook his brain with drugs to the point where his parents have had to confine him to a hospital, on a somewhat permanent basis because his formerly talented brain is now seething with schizophrenic thoughts and threats.  They now fear for their lives and his.

I know of promising young people who have so degraded their lives with alcohol they've thrown away scholarships, job opportunities, and live on the brink.  Any day they could be hauled off to jail for drinking and driving.  A pregnant 17 year old who truly wants the child and plans to marry the father, who is also a teenager, who she loves, is the least of a parent's worry.

I'm not that much of an Allahpundit fan, but I think he pegs itOne reason we're not going to hear much about this from the left is the Barack Obama's mamma factor. I have no doubt The One knew about the attack agents of his minions.  If the man is only now telling them to shut up about it, I think it's shameful.  From On High, the One sayth:

"..."I've heard some of the news. I've said before I think families are off limits, children limits. It has no relevance. I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories. My mom had me when she was 18. And how families deal with issues of children shouldn't be part of our politics."..."
Why did Barack Obama wait so long to tell his attack dogs to be quiet.  I think for a candidate not to know what is going on in "blog buzz" is a little backward, especially for someone who claims to be redefining the way campaigns use technology.

Sally Vee emailed a snip from Time.  It is a shocker, but then these are times when the whole political world seems to be turning upside down, and that's a good thing.

"...People in Wasilla are Alaskan tough, so not only does a thing like teen pregnancy not seem like anyone's damn business, but it's also not seen as the calamity so many people in the lower 48 might think it is. This is dangerous country — it's not just the roughneck jobs on cable reality shows. It's real life here. I listened to the absolutely heartbreaking story of how the godfather of Track Palin, Sarah's oldest son, died in small plane crash just minutes after having dropped off four kids. Another family invited me into their home and told their incredible story; with one son in Iraq, their other son was working on a conveyor line in Anchorage, got caught in the belt and had his head partially crushed. He lived to stand across the kitchen table from me and his parents, looking fully healed just three months later, grinning at his dumb luck and wondering what comes next in life. "It makes you realize that a thing like a little teenage pregnancy isn't such a big deal," his mom said. "Bristol—and lots of other girl like her out there — are going to be just fine."..."

For the first time in a very long time I am proud of "Christian" conservatives.  They are finally behaving like "Christians".  They are doing what they should be doing.  I don't think I've ever been more proud of them. If they continue to behave this way, they will have finally come of age and might amount to something.  I may end up changing my mind in a day or two and reserve the right to do so, but right now, they are finally acting like Christians.  The exqusite irony of the situation is it took the Christian and decent behavior of John McCain to expose these people as the Christians they actually are. When Mary Cheney became an unwed "lesbian" mother, there wasn't all that much condemnation of her from the "Christian" Right.  There was some, but those voices detest GWB anyway.

The really terrifying thing - the "Christian" Righ may end up bonding with John McCain.  They could learn a lot from him, that's for sure.

All in all, today is a very good day to be a Republican and I am very proud of my party.  I don't think an honorable Democrat can say the same thing today.  The very real question is why did it take Barack Obama so long to condemn the far left bloggers who were spreading vicious rumors about Bristol Palin?
