SUNDAY, AUGUST 3 LIFE ON MARS? Is an announcement from the White House about the potential for life on Mars in the works? If Craig Covault thinks so, then it may be just that. I finally broke down this evening and subscribed to AvWeek. According to Covault, it is the POTENTIAL for life, not the discovery of actual life. If Ronald Reagan helped bring down The Wall, Alexandr Solzhenitsyn was responsible for putting the fatal cracks in it. The man who exposed the horror of Stalin's death camps and completely tarnished any liberal idealism about the USSR died today, of heart failure. He was 89. Solzhenitsyn is the perfect example of what the consequences are for people who dare to speak out against oppression and dictators. He became too famous for the Soviet Union to execute, so they exiled him.
