JOHN MCCAIN'S SMART WIFE
The Obama Campaign thinks they have John McCain hog-tied, hung, deleted, and on the ropes over the latest John McCain being John McCain. The man is so absurdly honest the press still doesn’t know how to handle him, even after 8 years. He doesn’t care what he says. Neither do I. My mouth gets me in trouble all the time. Evidently so does John McCain’s.
There’s more here than just the usual campaign rantings of desperation. It reeks of class(less) warfare. There’s also something of a double standard here. There was nothing wrong for John Kerry to have a rich wife. Evidently only Democrats are allowed to have rich wives. Perhaps Barack Obama’s real problem, what angers him the most is that John McCain had the good sense to marry a very rich woman.
The double standard analogy doesn’t stop there. In many ways we are insulting a few men who really don’t need to be insulted. The male ego is fragile enough, without having rich wives thrown in their faces. How many men who marry very rich women actually stay married to them? At least they are now allowed to admit they’re married to a rich woman. Up until recent history, often that male ego demanded a woman “live on his income”. Fortunately that went out with women’s lib.
It’s tit-for-tat and payback’s a b_t_ h. John McCain was owed one good zing on behalf of John Kerry and his very rich wife. Now- we’re even, right?
John McCain makes less than a half-million dollars a year if he’s not churning out a book deal. His wife makes about 100 times that much. If you want my honest opinion, he’s handling it well. She handles the money, he is trying to run the nation. Unless you are George Washington, I don’t think a person can do both. Washington did, but then he was the greatest President we will ever have. (I’m a big Washington fan). When your income is up in the $50,000,000 category you can trade houses, properties, and do the real estate thing to your heart’s content.
Even though visions of having upward of $50,000,000 to spend on shoes and handbags each year is one of my great fantasies, I’m familiar enough with the workings of those with money to know buying and trading condos is no big deal. There is also nothing wrong with Cindy McCain earning her money the old fashioned way by inheriting it. No one even criticizes Teresa Heinz Kerry for earning hers the same way and helping to support her hubby, but then he’s a Democrat.
It isn’t the easiest thing in the world to keep track of investments when they are even 10% of Cindy McCain’s worth. Right now I know someone who is frantically trying to discover how certain investment companies maneuvered about $1.5 million. If someone were to ask this person about wealth and investments, they would draw a blank.
The last time I looked, there was nothing wrong with earning one’s money the old fashioned way, by inheriting it. The last time I checked we were still living in a Representative Republic where a person can leave the net worth of one’s life-time of achievement to their select heirs. They have the right not have a tremendous amount of it confiscated to distribute to those who would rather not go out and earn it themselves. There is nothing criminal about a woman inheriting something be it five bucks or five billion bucks. While I am very aware that Barack Obama’s socialist-Marxist friends and associates would like to end that practice, somehow I have a feeling they will put a loophole in it in order to preserve their own personal assets. That’s how the Soviets did it.
I think we are looking at a bad case of Edifice Envy when it comes to Barack Obama. Granted, he and the Mrs. live in a very nice house in Chicago. I don’t know the square footage of it, and it isn’t my business. I think maybe the good Senator from Illinois might envy the “ranch” out in Sedona. (I do not like Sedona. It ranks up there with Santa Fe as the places I dislike most in the Southwest). The point is, there is nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with owning real estate. There is nothing wrong with inheriting it. At least there’s nothing wrong with inheriting it until the Bill Ayers kind of socialism-Marxism is rammed down our throats, and we’re stuck with 100% death taxes.
Getting back to Cindy McCain. If she wants to spend her millions on shopping that is her business. If she wants to spend them on houses, she can afford it. While John McCain is listed as having the 7th largest income in the US Senate, most of it is tied to his wife. If you get right down to it, most of it is tied up in a beautiful pre-nup. Which leads to another reason the man has probably not strayed far from the wife. She has him signed, sealed, and delivered with a pre-nup.
Don’t make fun of it. No woman should ever get married without one, even if she’s only worth the low five figures. She may be worth more one day. Granted it’s the cynic in me, but I’ve seen innocent women dragged down the trampled primrose path, having to fork out good money to pay a sleazy jerk just to get rid of him. And, they weren’t exactly wealthy.
Like Cindy McCain, I will end up making my money the old-fashioned way. Granted it will be a microscopic amount compared to what she has inherited, but I would never even think of entering into a relationship with the love of my life, no matter how wonderful he might be, without a pre-nup. And like Cindy McCain, I have no intention of marrying a man who is embarrassed by the small amount I might have. I know women who have been absolutely miserable because their husbands weren’t men enough to let them have what belonged to them. I also know how those marriages have ended.
There is nothing wrong with wealth. There is nothing wrong with the accumulation of wealth. There is nothing wrong with using one’s wealth on the accusation of real estate and/or shoes (really nice designer shoes). There is nothing wrong with tying one’s spouse up in a pre-nup that doesn’t even give him wriggle room. It’s smart. Cindy McCain is one smart woman. John McCain is man enough to allow her to be one smart woman. I like that in a couple. It gives me hope.
It’s like this girlfriends, there’s a moral here. Don’t even marry him until he signs on the dotted line. It doesn’t matter if you only have a killer collection of Pink Depression Glass or the Imelda Marcos Shoe Collection. Don’t ever plan on happily ever after. It happens less than half the time. Be smart and play the odds. You also need to sign one for your beloved, with stipulations of exactly what you will get if you split. He can leave you high and dry and cheat you out of everything you will ever have.
Don’t be an idiot.
Cindy McCain sure isn’t. I don’t know about you, but I think she’s one tough cookie, and that’s a complement. She is her own person married to a man who is strong enough and has enough self assurance to let her. That’s my kind of man! TNR has a hit piece on the Mrs. but they really can't find anything to hit her on.
P. S. That whole house thing will be solved in November after John McCain is elected the 44th President of the United States of America. The Secret Service will only protect one privately owned property outside of the White House. My money’s on the property in Sedona. The view is incredible.
