SARAH PALIN FOR VP!
This morning while I was getting dressed for church (yes, I went and yes, I was on time - for once) I was listening to FOX.  Bill Krystol was on, discussing the VP game.  I was very disappointed to hear that Palin was not on "The Top Four".  Then Krystol said something interesting.  He was hearing that there is a super secret bombshell possibility, and he figured it was Giuliani.  I'd be extremely happy with Giuliani.  More than once I've mentioned that McCain-Giuliani would be my idea of the Dream Team.  Giuliani is my 2nd choice.  Sarah Palin is my first.

I want to be quite clear that Stephen Maloney is the first person to alert me to the unlimited potential of Sarah Palin.  I think I penned my first article on Blog Critics about a year ago.  Steve and Adam Brickley are probably the 1st people go all out to support Palin for VP, Adam being first in line and Steve a close 2nd.  I think I'm probably the 3rd in line.  I don't know what we will do with Stephen if she is nominated.  I have this feeling he would make it into orbit without the necessity of using a launch vehicle!

During the opening part of the service today, during the "Glory to God in the Highest", my RNC friend came in.  I passed him a note about the Giuliani information.  He's a big Giuliani fan.  I can live with Giuliani.  I just wish the GOP could think beyond the box and consider a woman.  After all, Margaret Thatcher is a woman.

While I was surfing through my usual sources a few minutes ago, I noticed something that Adam has had posted since Friday.  I saw it Friday, but it didn't mean all that much.  Now, though, I wonder if something isn't afoot.  Adam found where Roll Call reports that Sarah Palin says she isn't being vetted. This is what Adam found:
"...ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Gov. Sarah Palin (R), whose name has been floated as a potential running mate for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), said she has submitted some paperwork to national Republicans, but added she thinks it is unlikely she will be tapped to be McCain's vice presidential pick...."

Then I noticed this little ditty in one of the comments on Adam's site, suggesting a reference to a current Weekly Standard piece by Stephen F. Hayes.  Evidently McCain is reconsidering drilling up in ANWR.  Is this an indication about things to come?
'...But in our conversation on August 13, McCain added a new wrinkle. When I asked him if he had consulted Palin about ANWR, he said that he had not yet done so. He added, "I probably should," he said. "I will." So I called Palin to ask what McCain can expect to hear. The answer is that Palin, who has been mentioned as a possible McCain running mate but has not been vetted, will make a straightforward case for drilling in ANWR. She says McCain's willingness to take another look at ANWR is "very encouraging."

"It bodes well for him as a pragmatic and wise and experienced statesman," says Palin. "What he's doing here is he's calling an audible when conditions on the field are changing. And that's what you do if you want to win the game here. One of the pieces of a solution is allowing exploration on that little 2,000 acre plot of land out of the 20 million acres up there in the coastal plain."...

Is this a red herring?  The Pink Flamingo reported on March 14, that Palin was being vetted by the McCain camp.  On May 29 the Wizbang tells us that McCain had sent someone to Alaska to meet with Palin and that she was being vetted.
"...A tipster sent us word that John McCain's VP advance man Arthur Culvahouse has been spotted in Juneau, Alaska. There's only one reason he would be there - to meet with Alaska Governor Sarah Palin about the Vice President position...."

If there is indeed something going on here, we're seeing a wonderful snow job.  Maybe the actual truth is in the semantics. In March it was reported that Palin was "being vetted".  Therefore, now, she can say she is not "being vetted".  It is possible the job has already been completed.

Maybe Sarah Palin is THE ONE WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR, and not a certain other individual whose name I really don't want to mention.  If Bill Kristol is correct, then John McCain could be planning an August surprise.  If Barack Obama  I forgot, I'm noting mentioning his name, is planning on taking the same old same old white male VP pick, then John McCain could completely ruin his convention.  All he would need to do is wait for Obama's pick, which I hear will be this week.  Then, give him a few days to get into the convention, and voila!

Talk about heartburn!
