A DESERVED SLAP IN THE FACE!
I love politics. I love this country. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the American People. You can only con them for so long, then they smarten up enough at arrogance and thumb their nose. People get voted into office and they get voted out. Then there are some who are so durn ______ (deleted) but are smart enough to read the righting on the wall and get the heck out of Dodge before it it is too late. Yes, I am mixing metaphors, and indulging in the pathetic art of the simile, but I've been waiting for this for over two years. Please, indulge me. Let me wax poetic, thumb my nose, stick out my tongue, and and just enjoy every minute of it.
When Tom Tancredo announced he wasn't going to run for re-election in Colorado's 6th District, he may have though the American people were stupid enough to see through his agenda of hate. The again, he may have realized he was going to have some serious problems even winning a primary in his district this year.
Well, low and behold....!
Colorado State Senator Ted Harvey became the anointed one, hand picked by Tom Tancredo has his heir and successor. He was endorsed by the usual minions of hate like the Minutemen, etc. In Tom Tancredo's very own district, Harvey ran with the endorsement of the Minutemenof misc. anti-immigration groups.
He lost last night to Mike Coffman. The Marines have landed!
Looks like the Minutemen don't have the best track record when it comes to backing candidates, do they. Looks like REPUBLICANS don't really like the candidates they back. Looks like hard line immigration reform is a loser.
Too bad the hard line anti-immigration candidates aren't bright enough to figure this out before they ruin the GOP, but then that may be part of their plan, all along.
