The Pink Flamingo :: Deporting Illegals or Importing Islamic Holidays?

Are anti-immigration hard-liners even self-aware? Do they realize what a mockery they are making of the Constitution and Bill of Rights let alone themselves? So they want all the illegals who are doing “jobs no one wants to do” deported. Allegedly there are no jobs American’s don’t want to do, ergo we don't need immigrants, legal or illegal. Conservatives cheered when the evil illegal Hispanic immigrants were rounded-up like cattle and treated to sub-human and completely unconstitutional activities. After all, they are evil Hispanics. Right.

Nature abhors a vacuum. Now we learn that those 400 or so jobs in Pottsville, Iowa, that are empty now since all those nasty Hispanics were rounded up like cattle and shipped off to who knows where, are being filled by refugees from Africa, Islamic refugees at that.

There's been an uproar in the conservative blog-world over Tyson's announcement that they were going to dump Labor Day for a holiday near and dear to the Islamic hearts of their Somali employees.

In 2005, 30 workers walked off the job at a Dell Inc. plant in Nashville after alleging the company refused to let them pray at sunset. Last year, dozens of Somali meatpacking workers at a Nebraska plant quit their jobs because they were not given enough time off for Muslim prayers, though they eventually returned to work at the Swift & Co. plant...."

The last time I checked (today) we have very specific Federally designated holidays. We're allegedly dealing with the fact that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, ergo, we have NO required Federal Islamic holidays. One of these days they will demand we drop Christmas and Easter as recognized Christian holidays, but until then, we have no Islamic holidays. I don't see why the heck any company needs to do more. If I were still a small business owner (thank God I am not) I would only do the required ones, and then I made everyone work on Thanksgiving. (It was my biggest sales day of the year).

There is a bottom line here. You can't have everything. We need workers in this nation. I don't know about you, but I would rather have my unskilled workers come from Mexico, where they are a majority Catholic. I know that sounds terribly biased and racist, but if we are in a major war against a totalitarian ideology that has corrupted an honorable religion, and contrary to the hyperbole one sees on some sites, there is nothing wrong with the Muslin religion. Any religion can be corrupted. If you think otherwise look at the Phelps hate group. This has little to do with the Muslim religion and rather unchecked immigration with the possibility of importing our own little jihad right here in the US. Look at Europe.

If this anti-Hispanic "outreach" continues, we have problems. Nature abhors a vacuum. If you think we do not need workers in the agriculture, because, if Somalis are finally heading to Iowa to fill the jobs Hispanics were forced to surrender, doesn't it make you think a bit? Why haven't red-blooded, natural born Americans, the kind the anti-immigration crowd likes, rush in to take those jobs?

Could someone please answer that for me? While you're at it, what is going to happen in Iowa when the town is taken over by refugees from Somalia? How long is it going to take some of the highly motivated minutemen, et. al who preach hate there in Iowa to start trying to take out the newest arrivals? What happens when they clean the state of those people and other immigrants start arriving? Oh, they've solved that - no vacancy.

Maybe we could solve the whole problem - you know - those jobs no one will do in this country, that the anti-immigration pundits say just about anyone in America will do - by making the anti-immigration pundits do said jobs. Make 'em take their multi-million dollar radio, television, and lobby careers and have a little pay cut. Force them to work all day cutting up chickens or picking veggies. Let's see how long those anti-Hispanic quotas will last. I'd say they will be just about as strong as a Democrat's marriage vows.
