I am like a little kid bouncing off the wall. I made an incredible Wyatt Earp discovery today, thanks to Marge & Steve Elliott and their museum here in Tombstone. Steve had a set of programs that once belonged to Wyatt, c1906 out of LA. The opera lover in me is just like a little kid at Christmas. Wyatt Earp loved opera. He was a big fan of Verdi. I'd
not paid much attention to Barack Obama's July 2 speech on national
service until I listened to Michael
Medved this evening. I highly INSIST that you listen to the
first half hour of his show today. It
is chilling. If you weren't planning on voting for John
McCain before, this will make you do so. Medved mentioned
something that was not in Obama's prepared text: He is
planning a civilian security force to augment the military.
Can you say Gestapo? His plans for national service are

Like I said last night, it's a cheap shot, but it's a fun one. We all need a few cheap thrills these days and I'm no exception. Have you noticed that no one's brought up the following:
