The Pink Flamingo :: The False (Conservative) Unpopularity of John McCain

When is a conservative not a Republican? Are the one in the same? Or....can they be completely different party animals?

I have an article over on Right Pundits that is basically an edited version of one I posted on The Pink Flamingo last week. I am pointing it out simply because of the extreme way over the top comments by Ron Paul supporters who consider themselves the minion army of their savior, Ron Paul, who is going to be the GOP version of Barack Obama. If only the extreme, very evil, and very stupid Republicans would dump John McCain and embrace Ron Paul, he could save the GOP from itself.

Then we have the vaunted evangelicals who are willing to hold their nose and vote for McCain, if he does exactly what they tell him to do. If he takes Mike Huckabee as VP and not Romney then they will support him. They are after power and donations - nothing more.

It's all about the power and the money.

There are the self-righteous conservatives who know more than the false god they worship (Reagan) and have managed to twist and mangle everything he stood for. Fact is, the way I see it, John McCain may be a little more conservative than Reagan actually was. Oh, dear Reagan in heaven I am going to burn in hell for making that statement.

For the past couple of days I’ve been trying to find the time to answer an answer of an email I sent to a very good conservative Republican. This person is as loyal a conservative as a Republican and an avid John McCain supporter. Because of this, my friend cannot understand why I am so against conservatives. I’m not against conservatives. I am one myself. I’m against conservatives who pretend to be Republican only to cause mischief within the party. They are against John McCain because he is their worst nightmare. If he is successful, then their version of what "conservative" should be is doomed. Their false GOP self-righteous conservative "values" will be exposed and they will be seen as the fakes they really are.

I am not against conservatives who are Republicans. I'm not against conservatives who are not Republican. I am against conservatives who PRETEND to be Republican in order to advance their own agenda, part of which is to destroy the GOP and build up other political parties, the Constitution Party being the beneficial of their largess. Don't ever thing much of this "conservative" McCain bashing isn't to promote Chuck Baldwin's Constitution Party POTUS run.

Conservatives have a little neo-(do you really want to know) thing going on. There is an agenda of right wing extremism and bias that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the GOP. The problem is there are individuals who don't have the courage to admit they are not Republicans and do not have the honor to come out and state they are not Republican. There are several reasons for this, the primary one being POWER and influence. Most conservatives - 90% of them, are Republicans. They are the 'salt of the earth'. They are honorable decent people who are putting the bet interest of the country in the forefront. If they realized just who some of the top conservative pundits were and what their agenda was they would recoil in horror. There would be such a disgust, and such an off-turning of radio dials and switching of news channels Neilson would be unable to keep up with it.

We have conservatives like Michelle Malkin who uses her "online" empire to promote extreme agendas that are not Republican. Malkin does not like John McCain and appears to be willing to do anything, including the manipulation of the truth, to prevent him from being elected. Malkin, by the agenda esposed on her blog, is not Republian. She is something else entirely. She has also cast her lot with individuals like Jarred Taylor or Peter Brimelow and VDare who have been exposed as organizations who have neo-Nazi leanings. Pat Buchanan has recently exposed his "true colors" and they aren't red, white, and blue!

The Ron Paul worshippers are all over the place. They are the GOP antidote to the Obama loonies, proving we have our own, too. The big problem with this bunch is the fact that they are FOLLOWERS. True Republicans are not followers. True Republicans are leaders. Ron Paul supporters are nothing but followers looking for a messiah. The problem is Obama is already here.

There are very few conservatives who are not GOP and have the courage to admit it. Laura at Pursuing Holiness is one of those few.

Then there is this constant bad-mouthing of the GOP from "mainstream" conservatives. Sister Toldjah's column today is a perfect example. Deal with it. All is not darkness. The real reason the GOP is in such deep trouble is because of the demands for absolute conservative perfection - which does not exist.

Oh, and BTW - STOP BAD-MOUTHING JOHN MCCAIN!

THE TALK SHOW FACTOR
Perhaps the worst problem with today's version of conservative is the fact that many have surrendered their right to think independently and take their talking points from Rush Limbaugh. Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham follow Limbaugh. The only independent thinker of the bunch is Michael Medved. With the exception of Medved who is an ardent McCain supporter, none of the above give a damn about McCain. Let's fact the fact that they really don't care about the GOP and would rather see it lose. John McCain is their worst enemy. If John McCain wins, Rush Limbaugh loses.

Why?

A John McCain victory is the worst thing that can happen to Rush Limbaugh. Over the past few years Limbaugh has spent so much of his time degrading McCain and my friend Lindsey that I quit listening to him.

What if .... the above stellar crew of talk show millionaires is wrong?

What if .... the reason John McCain is holding strong is because .... (gasp) people like him. I know, it is horrible thought. It is obscene. It defies the sacred god-like memory of Reagan. But ... Ronald Reagan liked John McCain.

Deal with it.
