QUAYLE?
Barack Obama isn't the brightest blub on the Great White Way (a reference to Broadway). Perhaps the Las Vegas Strip would be a better analogy. He's not firing on all thrusters. He is magnificent on camera and with the teleprompter. His speeches put him up there with the 'greats'. That's a given and as a supporter of John McCain I am dealing with it. If this were Dan Quayle or any other generic Republican, this would be wall to wall on the media. Because it was uttered by the Obamassiah, well, it's just another day and another dumb to dumber remark.

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., in Afghanistan, told the paparazzi-pursued
correspondent Lara Logan that "the objective of this trip was to have
substantive discussions with people like President Karzai or Prime
Minister Maliki or President Sarkozy or others who I expect to be
dealing with over the next eight to 10
years..."
Yes, you read this correctly. Barack Obama is planning on being in office for at least eight to ten years. Jack Tapper on the ABC political blog picked up this latest Obamassiah gaffe. I would like to remind Pink Flamingo readers that Barack Obama was allegedly the editor of the Harvard Law Review. As such, he should be even remotely familiar with a little ditty called the Constitution of the United States of America.
Amendment XXII
"...(Ratified February 27,
1951)
Section 1
No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President, when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term...."
We are talking
about Barack Obama. None of the rules apply for him or for
his fawning media. I guess we'd just better learn how to deal
with it while he serves his ten years in office.
