On this day, in 1775, one of my ancestors, Paul Dustin (I think it was Paul, maybe it was Timothy) and a rag-tag group of real Minutemen faced some of the finest troops the British had to offer. I think the rendition of the story that just weakens me is the one from the John Adams Mini-series. Spunky Abigail was home with the children. During the night they heard the fighting, and went outside to watch the battle, more like fire-works than a battle.
