I Guess They've Forgotten

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17

On this day, in 1775, one of my ancestors, Paul Dustin (I think it was Paul, maybe it was Timothy) and a rag-tag group of real Minutemen faced some of the finest troops the British had to offer. I think the rendition of the story that just weakens me is the one from the John Adams Mini-series. Spunky Abigail was home with the children. During the night they heard the fighting, and went outside to watch the battle, more like fire-works than a battle. Overview:
"...On June 17, 1775 the Battle of Bunker Hill took place. It is one of the most important colonial victories in the U.S. War for Independence. Fought during the Siege of Boston, it lent considerable encouragement to the revolutionary cause. This battle made both sides realize that this was not going to be a matter decided on by one quick and decisive battle. Yesterday I mentioned that Barack Obama reminds me of a certain individual who would condemn others for the things he was about to do or was doing. Barack Obama reminds me of this person in so many different ways it is alarming. So, the Obama Campaign sets up this web site condemning the GOP for smearing him, but allows his campaign to go at John McCain in some vile and disgusting ways.
