WEDNESDAY, JUNE 11

Why are there no sunspots? Are we entering a mini-ice age. Say it ain’t so. I want global warming. The dodo bird The Swamp Monster has been exposed. Ancient petroglyphs have been stolen from the Kaibab National Forest.

DO WE REALLY KNOW?
A four part series on a few theories about the coming election are located below. It did not start out that way, but that’s how I’ve posted it. I am throwing in a number of trackbacks in the introduction. Some may belong elsewhere in the article.
It is possible we are seeing some major changes in not only the GOP, but the Democratic Party. We could also be seeing changes in the Libertarian and Constitution Parties. Frankly, I don’t think the latter parties have enough members to make a difference, but there are some conservatives who ... more »

OUT OF TOUCH CONSERVATIVES
What do we really know? Hard line anti-immigration “reform” is a loser for the GOP. Last night Lindsey basically slaughtered hard-line CofCC racist Buddy Witherspoon. There are indications that additional hard-liners went down in SC, but I don’t know enough about the races yet to make a blanket statement. What I do know is it appears (and I say appears) that hard line conservatives in SC in the state house and senate did not fare as well as was expected. This makes the latest Jim DeMint move a little puzzling. He is forming a PAC ... more »

IS OBAMA GETTING RELIGION?
We are currently being treated to a barrage of bad news from the religious front. Catholics are mad at John McCain because he was on Ellen's show. Did Big Mac attack Billy Graham? We are made to believe not only is John McCain failing with conservatives and the "base" but he is losing the "Christian" vote to Obama by large measures. Evidently none of this is true. From what I can tell the media thinks "Christians" are stupid and don't mind be taken in by Barack Obama's lovely rhetoric and the hate that spews from his ... more »

GROUPS, MINORITIES, ASSOCIATIONS
We learn that there is a 25% dapproval rating for the Dems in Congress. Their ratings are lower than that of President Bush (I think those polls are a crock). If this is the case, is it possible there could be some Dems who lose their jobs in November and not the other way around? I'm still crunching numbers from SC, but it is possible some of our incumbents could be in trouble, and not all of these going down may be Republicans. If people are in an anti-incumbent mood, those who have marginal seats could be ... more »

TODAY’S SENIORS =THE REAGAN DEMOCRATS
No wonder Barack Obama is having so many problems with Seniors. Look at the way he is treating John McCain. The Obama campaign is treating today’s episode. ABCNews Blog
“…the Obama campaign pounced. On a hastily-arranged Obama campaign conference call Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., Dr. Susan Rice, and former Navy Secretary Richard Danzig, all assailed McCain. Kerry called the remarks "unbelievably out of touch and inconsistent with the needs and concerns of Americans," particularly the families of troops in Iraq. "We cannot support the level of American troops in Iraq; our military is overstretched, it's ... more »
