ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST
Please pardon me while I gloat a bit. Racist Buddy Witherspoon, went down in flames this evening in his challenge to unseat Lindsey. Unfortunately, people don’t understand how well Lindsey is liked in South Carolina. While a few sore-heads complain about his immigration stance, they don’t speak for the rank and file Republican in SC.
From The State:
“…It was a vindication compared to his reception a year ago at the state GOP convention, when the crowd booed and shouted "No" at Graham's explanations of the immigration bill. He became the butt of criticism from conservatives and Rush Limbaugh labeled the proposal "Grahamnesty."… Glenn Muskovin, a retired construction worker who lives in Columbia, said he voted for Graham even though he doesn't always agree with the senator. "I think he votes in our best interest, to take care of our troops and needing an actual immigration law instead of the way it is right now. He hasn't wavered like a lot of politicians," said Muskovin, 52...."
Once again we have proof that hard-line anti-immigration reform is a loser. Witherspoon, backed by John Tanton and his minions, including Michelle Malkin, did not stand a chance.
“…Witherspoon, a 69-year-old Navy veteran, characterized himself as a devout Christian who opposes abortion and gay marriage and knocks Graham for being "joined at the hip" with McCain. He says he's playing the role of David vs. Goliath in the race, and wants to severely crack down on businesses that knowingly hire illegal workers….”
I go back to my original question: Why does Michelle Malkin promote someone like Buddy Witherspoon, a known racist with ties to the CofCC among other groups, while slamming a decent man like Lindsey Graham. Why do people put up with it? Why do good, decent honorable men and women who are conservative continue to allow those like Malkin, who is a puppet for the Tanton agenda, to control the discussion?
How does this play for John McCain?
It proves exactly what I’ve been saying about immigration reform for ages. The hard line position is a loser. If you are a Republican, and run as a hard-line anti-immigration reformer, you are going to lose. How many more elections does the GOP need to lose before our candidates get it?
