I'm finally getting the hang of the DSL here. It is faster than mine at home, but very quirky. I think if I were closer to the hub I might not have as many problems with it.
It is a good 15 degrees cooler this summer here in Tombstone than it was last year. I'm still hot and bothered, but it is mainly frustration tempered with exhaustion. Last night I slept for 10 hours. It is probably because I drove the whole way, after having no sleep the previous night. Doc was celebrating the fact that Rumsfeld ... more»
Even though I am acting like a crazed you know what this week, trying to make due with limited internet connections, limited air conditioning, and having to get my FOX via an annoying XM system, I try to be polite to people. As cranky and you know what-chy I've been lately, I am not rude to people. If I am, you will know it, big time. I dislike people who aren't fair. I dislike people who take advantage of others. And - one of the things I dislike most is someone who talks a big game ... more»
The other day I read somewhere on a blog that it is possible the younger group, kids not old enough to vote, look at the world much differently than their older college going siblings with their newly washed brains. Because the teen set is so completely into their game systems and saving the universe, they have a tendency to look for heroes. They live super-heroes in their comics, movies, television and game systems. They are also rather affected by the whole 9/11 trauma.
It makes sense. My 18 year old niece looks at the world much ... more»
Let's be honest here. Religion and politics are getting out of hand. I feel sorry for the good honest athiest who one day decides to run for President of the United States. She doesn't stand a snowball's chance, even if she is a liberal. The reason I say this about liberals is there's a dirty little secret out there. Evidently liberals are more prejudiced againt religion - all religions, than we previously thought possible.
Case in point:
Chickenhawk Express treats us to one of the most luscious and remarkable "exposes" to date. Some self-righteous Obama ... more»
I am rushing around, trying to get
ready to leave tomorrow AM. Nothing is really
packed. I've been working the blog for several
hours. I have a few good articles line up
to post
next week so I need not spend my whole vacation time working. I dropped
Rumsfeld off at the "spa" fairly early this AM. He acted
like
he was glad to see his buddies. Last I heard, he was
planning
to host a party, and his buddy, Beans was going to spend the night with
him. I've been working on the blog and doing ... more»
Evidently Barack Obama is the gift that keeps on giving. The MSM here in the US is ignoring the Great Birth Certificate Debacle, but fortunately there is the Israeli press. The Israli Insider isn't letting this story go away, fortunately. Then there is the great fundraising lie - only the "little people" are supporting Barack Obama. Horse Hockey! Even deeper horse hockey is the fact that the American MSM is fawning, all in love with the Great Obamassiah. They don't care to dig beyond the campaign rhetoric, even when it changes every other minute or two. It ... more»
What she's doing isn't very glamorous. There aren't many photographers following her around. She isn't getting much good press for her adventures, and she's not being compared to Jackie. You aren't seeing many "conservative" blogs talking about what she's being doing, but the Hillary blogs are full of it! Naturally she isn't being covered by FOX. There they are oh so busy pandering to Barack Obama and doing anything possible to sandbag her husband. You can read about her humanitarian mission primarily on the McCain Blogett or on the campaign web site. One of the projects ... more»
The drip continues. I don't know if I should classify it as a fountain or a small waterfall. I've yet to hear from the person who is fixing it, and I'm leaving on Sunday AM.
BTW - please keep my cousin Jim in your prayers. He's having every miserable side effect of a bone marrow transplant anyone could have.
This evening I looked up to see Rumsfeld and Bubbles carrying in one of the sticks I use to hold up one of the plants. Evidently removing it was a joint operation of guilt and creativity. They came ... more»
The on FOX, we were treated to the same old litany from the Obama campaign. It was the same song, just a new verse. FOX appears to be in the tank for Barack Obama. If you will notice, FOX covers Obama's speeches with adoration, and cuts into McCains. When FOX does use a "real" Republican, they use Karl Rove. The rest of the time they resort to extreme conservatives like Bay Buchanan and Laura Ingraham, neither one of whom have any love for the GOP. They are falling lock-step into the Obama Subliminal smear campaign... more»
Have you done any serious channel surfing on the movie channels lately? If you have a weak stomach like I do, it is enough to sicken you. Even during the day, when allegedly, things should be ‘child friendly’, it is nothing but carnage. I’ve reached the point, at night, when I finally put this blasted blog to bed and I try doing the same (says a heck of a lot about my social life, doesn’t it) I grab a book and do some channel surfing. At night it is – vile. Why must we be treated ... more»
There is only one article today. I'm in the process of getting ready to leave for a week or so, and have been running around all day. Okay, I had a spa day with a pedicure, manicure, hair, etc. It was well deserved and lasted most of the day. Therefore blogging is lite! Tomorrow Rumsfeld heads up to the poodle spa for his week of partying. Trust me, he parties. Fact is, he's the life of the party!
If any other individual running for POTUS were conducting the current version of the campaign the Obamassiah were conducting, it would be an object of much derision and laughter. Let’s face it, the current incarnation of the Obama National Campaign is not ready for prime time! Maybe it’s not the campaign, maybe it is the candidate. You can only coast so far on smoke, mirrors, and arrogance.
Over the years I’ve watched people enough to know that there are times when arrogance is a cover for incompetence. Then, I went back to the Merriam Webster definition ... more»
I had a commentary for the evening, but ended up posting it at Right Pundits, so forget it. The title today is a smug nose thumb at Barry Bonds. It seems the alleged home run wanna be pretender can't even sign with a minor league team. Life is good. What goes around comes around! Which brings the history of Take Me Out to the Ballgame.
Judith T. sent this to me this morning. The story will leave you in tears. The punchline will enrage you. It will also make you realize why the Nobel Peace Prize is a total fraud. Irene Sendler actually deserves to be a saint.
"November 13, 2003 - from POPE JOHN PAUL II - TO IRENA SENDLEROWA. "Honorable and dear Madam, I have learned you were awarded the Jan Karski prize for Valor and Courage. Please accept my hearty congratulations and respect for your extraordinarily brave activities in the years of occupation, when - disregarding your own security ... more»
If you think I am going to give up my cute little slides because some dimwit scientist says they aren't good for feet, you're as crazy as the dimwit scientist is. I gather there will soon be a world-wide ban on flip-flops and then I will be a criminal for my intense love of them. Of course mine are designer shoes, might I add.
Just when I a feeling just a little down in the dumps because I've run out of things to rant and rave about, Jonah Goldberg and NRO just throw this beautiful hanging curve right in my strike zone. There's nothing like the feeling of hitting a sweet one over the right field fence. To the "right" and to anyone who disapproves of abortion, Planned Parenthood is the big, giant boogyman. It is the root of all evil, offering up abortions to any and all. I am strongly anti-abortion. I don't exactly approve of Planned Parenthood. ... more»
It is a good thing Barack Obama is not in bed, snuggling up to lobbyists, or he could be accused of selling out to the corn/ethanol lobby for votes in the mid-west. Evidently Obama used his ties to the ethanol lobby as a spring-board to the mid-western corn states and his POTUS run. He and Tom Daschle, now a lobbyist for the corn-ethanol industry travel together quite a bit in the mid-west. (Daschle says he is not a lobbyist for the industry, but speaks out for them on occasion). According to the NYTimes, Daschle isn’t the ... more»
My mother has had memory problems since a spinal tap went bad years ago. Today during her physical her neurologist had his nurse give her a quick test.
Q: What day is it? M: I think it’s Monday.
Q: What date is it? M: I have no idea what the date is.
Q: What year is it? M: 2008, I think.
Q: What is this (she pointed to her shoe) it is a shoe? M. That’s a combination of rubber and chemicals. I do not consider them shoes. What I had on is a pair of shoes. ... more»
There are times when things just don’t pass the smell test. In other words, something has an odor of mendacity upon it. (Stolen from Tennessee Williams). I keep going back to the fact that Barack Obama has a Teflon coating that’s been sprayed with PAM and hosed down with the most slippery of non-stick substances. Let’s face it, if the media were playing fair, Hillary Clinton would be the nominee, not a narcissistic, thin-skinned, inexperienced individual with a cast of associates that would make any Chicago hood proud. There is such a tremendous media bias... more»
The Archbishop of Nigeria is revolting, not only in his practices but against the Archbishop of Canterbury. The American conservative Anglican community, who has chosen to worship Peter Akinola instead of the Holy Trinity of the Father, Son & Holy Spirit, is now threatening the very foundation of the Anglican Church. Not content to just destroy the Episcopal Church in the USA, he is now going to split the entire Anglican world, if it does not give in to his extreme demands. You see, Peter Akinola hates homosexuals. He hates homosexuals to the point that he doesn't even ... more»
Hondo Kitty stayed out all night. My mother said this morning when she went to open the garage door, he shot inside and sat, cowering at the back door, waiting to go inside, where he spent the entire day sleeping. Alicia said the two calico kittens have adapted and are quite happy in their new digs. Prince Charming was not that thrilled with them, and stalked out of the house.
Last night one of my mother's front window kitties went into labor for the first time. Sydney and her little friend Addie were thrilled. The mother was ... more»
"...Today, to the puzzlement of many, Mr. McCain and his first wife remain on good terms."I have no bitterness," she recently told Britain's Daily Mail, who described her as the woman he "callously left behind."..."
She is being treated like dirt in the American press, but the international press is latching on to her, lavishing slavish, drooling coverage on her the likes of which has not been seen since Diana pretended to do her humanitarian thing. The big difference is the fact that THIS is who Cindy McCain really is, and she doesn't seem to care ... more»
Pat Buchanan's latest Townhall column has been quite revealing, proving what I've been saying for at least two years. He is basically proving himself to be an apologist for the Nazis. Has he finally committed the unpardonable sin?
"...That Hitler was a rabid anti-Semite is undeniable. "Mein Kampf" is saturated in anti-Semitism. The Nuremberg Laws confirm it. But for the six years before Britain declared war, there was no Holocaust, and for two ... more»
I think I'd better explain that one, quickly. Sydney, age 8.11 has a little problem with kittens. She's been visiting my parents at their "Cat Ranch" all of her life. She loves kittens. As soon as she could toddle Sydney would chase try to catch their kittens. Yesterday she and her mom, Alicia, spent the day helping my mother prepare for tonight's party for my father's 84th. (Photos to follow) Yesterday she and one of the little calicoes bonded. After Sydney carted Prince Charles home from one of our Parish Christmas parties maybe 5 years ago (She ... more»
Evidently
the people who promote such hysterical anti-immigration "reform" are
more interested in removing Hispanics than they are truly promoting
border security. If they were interested in telling the truth about
border security, they would be quoting the GAO's report on border security. The problem is the fact that they only report the facts that work for them.
"...The names of the states GAO
visited for this limited security assessment have been withheld at the
request of CBP. In four states along the U.S.–Canada border, GAO found
state roads that were very close to the ... more»
