The Pink Flamingo :: Proving Hard Core Conservatives Wrong on Hispanics

I love flying my Union Jack! I guess that’s okay, but my friend Rosa can’t wave her Mexican flag, right? She’s now an American citizen and a REPUBLICAN voter. Does that make any difference?

I have news for anti-immigration, anti-Hispanic Conservatives who have nothing to do with the Republican Party other than grind it into the ground and do everything they can to hinder victory. Hispanics are people. They are humans. They are just as human as are you and I. They deserve to be treated as such. This current atmosphere of anti-Hispanic rhetoric you are trying to foster seems, fortunately, to be failing. It is time for those who hate others to crawl back into the racist woodwork. It is also obvious that we have a problem with illegal immigration. Just as obvious is the fact that we have a problem with the messengers who are trying to shove hard line anti-immigration reform down the throat of every decent person in this country. We know who and what you are.

Reid Wilson in today’s WSJ’s Opinion Diary:

The GOP's share of the Hispanic vote plummeted after the last Republican Congress's angry debate on immigration reform. That episode, which quickly focused on fence-building and deportations, created a portion of the electorate that now holds the Republican Party in increasing contempt….”

HARDCORE IMMIGRATION A GOP LOSER!

“…Exit polls from the 2004 election show Hispanic voters favored Democratic candidates in Congressional elections by 55%-44% margin. Two years later, that margin more than doubled, with Hispanics favoring Democratic candidates by 62%-37%. In some states, several enforcement-only hardliners lost what had been Republican districts to more moderate Democratic challengers. In Arizona alone, Rep. J.D. Hayworth lost his seat to Democrat Harry Mitchell, while State Senator Gabrielle Giffords, also a Democrat, won an open seat previously held by a senior Republican when she beat an anti-illegal immigration activist.This year, GOP strategists have warned that their party is in danger of categorically ruling out …”

THE FUTURE OF THE GOP

"The Hispanic vote and the African American vote is the future of the Republican Party," Florida party chair Jim Greer says (Mr. Greer held a similar event aimed at African American voters late last year). To get the groups involved, he adds: "We ensure that they have a seat at the table, and wherever [the Republican Party has] failed in the past, we correct that." It is a help to the GOP that John McCain is the party's standard-bearer in this year's presidential contest..….But if others choose the route of ex-Rep. Hayworth and the immigration hardliners, the damage to party's reputation with Hispanic voters could be severe and long lasting.”

MALKIN’S PREVARICATIONS ABOUT LA RAZA
Once again Michelle Malkin is not telling the whole truth about La Raza and is going after John McCain over it. The other day, I detailed what La Raza stands for – and IT IS NOT THE RACE as Malkin constantly repeats. You know, if this is the quality of her work on things, how accurate are her other pieces? Her bias against Hispanics is obvious. Her hatred of John McCain is getting a bit old and transparent. We all know she is not working for the Republican Party. She is aligned with the forces of darkness, i.e. Peter Brimelow at Vdare, John Tanton, and is basically one of his little minions.

LaRaza is no different from the NAACP.

The only Hispanics who get a pass with Malkin are those who associate with Tanton. She is demanding John McCain meet with Col. Al. Rodriguez of You Don’t Speak for Me. I think this is perhaps the most revealing of all her demands on John McCain. I also find the fact that she, and other non-Republican conservatives have the audacity to make demands on a person when they have no intention of voting for that person rather amusing.

Our favorite liberal, The Feathered Bastard, wrote about Rodriguez:

“…The new issue of the Southern Poverty Law Center's Intelligence Report is out, and it's chocked full of more racist Sand Land nuts than a John Birch Society convention. The mag highlights several players in the local nativist movement, profiles notorious neo-Nazi and alleged murderer Sean Gaines, and pays a visit to the Glendale-based home business of Nazi memorabilia peddler Dieter Bueschgen. Why, with this many stories emanating from the Zona, the SPLC should consider opening a satellite branch in PHX. Believe me, they'd never run out of racist a-holes to write about.

Of the 20 nativists granted thumbnail profiles in the mag, six hail from AZ, more than any other state. Topping the list is ex-Kia dealer and prejudiced playboy Rusty Childress, founder of the PHX hate group United for a Sovereign America, and he's joined by brothers in arms J.T. "Yep, I'm a Nazi, Ma" Ready of Mesa, and alleged public urinator "Buffalo" Rick Galeener. Anti-Latino Latino Col. Al Rodriguez of the F.A.I.R.-front organization You Don't Speak for Me is included, as is urban cougar heartthrob Michelle Dallacroce, founder of Mothers Against Illegal Aliens. (She'll hate it that the SPLC misspelled her name.) And Tucson minuteman Bill Irwin of the Patriots Border Alliance (they should spell it Pay-triots) gets an SPLC shout-out….”

I find Malkin’s choice of Al Rodriguez rather fascinating and extremely revealing. Rodriguez and his organization are the visible minority fronts for John Tanton’s FAIR. They are TOKEN HISPANICS. If you read this carefully, you will find that FAIR pays for them to come out and be seen as TOKENS. Get it?

According to the SPLC

“…Such exercises in hyperbole and distortion are commonplace for Rodriguez, the founder of You Don't Speak For Me! (YDSFM), which purports to be a grassroots collective of Latino anti-immigration activists. According to the YDSFM website, Rodriguez, a retired Army colonel, formed the "loose coalition of individuals" to become the "true" spokespersons of Latino Americans on the issue of immigration.

In truth, YDSFM's representation is grossly inauthentic. Like the similarly fraudulent Choose Black America, a "grassroots" coalition of African-American nativists, YDSFM is wholly engineered and funded by the Federation for American Immigration Reform, a rich and powerful hate group with slick nationwide operations. The groups were formed to deflect accusations of white racism.

As YDSFM Executive Director Miguel Cruz told The Record newspaper in Hackensack, N.J.: "Yes, the coalition is FAIR's creation… . They tell us there's a press conference, and they finance the travel and other expenses."

While FAIR speaks for Rodriguez — Ira Mehlman, FAIR's non-Latino national media director, is listed on the YDSFM website as the media contact — Rodriguez claims to speak for all Americans. In an October 2006 press release, Rodriguez says, "Like all Americans, citizens of Hispanic heritage want the government to untie the hands of the Border Patrol so that they can do their jobs protecting the security of the nation."…”
