It's like this. There are times when we all need a hero. They don't need to wear blue tights and fly faster than a speeding bullet. They don't necessarily grunt and sweat and flex their biceps and their tight little abs. They are the men who read books without pictures, have table manners, and know how to act like gentlemen. Heroes stand up for what is right, against all odds. They buckle the swash and look really really really good in a cape (a traditional cape). Some are the strong silent type, some womanizers. They brood. They emote. They may not want to, and protest all the way, but they do show up when you need them, and always carry the day.
NOTES: When I started working on this, I realized that Gregory Peck probably had more heroic roles than just about anyone else. Kevin Costner seems to be the modern day swash-buckler. And - it all just goes to prove sometimes you just need to call in an archaeologist!

(I love this part – my very favorite piece of literature)
I had an ancestor knighted by Henry on the field of battle at Agincourt for saving Henry’s life.

Caution: greatest movie kiss ever!
13. AND – MY FAVORITE OF THEM ALL……….(sigh)
He may be old, but he’s still HOT!
