THE 'TRUE' CONSERVATIVE AGENDA
From Border Fire Report (for what it’s worth) I keep telling you there are many conservatives who are not Republican. These are the individuals who have been doing all the agitating – and we’re not talking Ron Paul Bots. There is a division in the conservative ranks between libertarians, Constitution, and the new conservative party. The problem is these are the yahoos who basically cost the GOP the majority in the House and Senate in 2006. If we aren't careful and marginalize them, this will happen, once again, and could cost John McCain the election. They are dangers. They are connected to the KKK, Neo-Nazis, and in many ways John Tanton of FAIR controls their racist, anti-Hispanic agenda. It is a platform based on hate, paranoia, and isolationism. These people claim to be the "heirs" of Reagan. They are mega listeners of talk radio and are the ones who propelled immigration reform into the disaster that it is today. They are a very small, but extremely well organized minority. They are bent on destroying the GOP. Their plans for Iraq would be abject disaster for this nation.
Buyer beware.
These are the people who absolutely HATE John McCain and will do and say just about anything to destroy any chance he has to win. They would rather have Barack Obama in office than John McCain. They are hate-filled spoilers.
“Pastor” Chuck Baldwin, Baptist Minister, “Christian”, hard-line anti-Immigration supporter, and Constitution Party candidate for POTUS has issued a manifesto about what he believes. I think the one that that leaps out at me is if the man claims to be a Christian, why is he denying humanitarian medical and emergency aide to anyone, let alone illegal aliens. He also knows nothing about the Constitution. He wants to do away with “anchor babies” – and violate the Constitution there. He knows nothing about repealing an Amendment of the Constitution, but that’s okay, he’s a good “Christian” conservative.
Read through his positions. Please keep in mind that many, many of his supporters are the ones who are promoting themselves as the true heirs of Reagan. This is a “platform” that would make Reagan cringe. You also need to understand although Baldwin calls himself “Christian” and “Conservative” his party, the Constitution Party, is linked, hand and glove, with Vdare and the nasty little folks associated with it. It was founded by Howard Phillips, who claims allegiance to Reagan, but instead, did nothing but undermine him when possible. I’ve been covering this extensively for some months.
The SPLC profile of Peter Brimelow, founder of Vdare, (column about their regular contributors, including Malkin) twin brother of big time former Neo-Nazi John, where Chuck Baldwin’s column is a regular feature.
“…Brimelow has some remarkable things to say in his own essays. Among them, he describes the Pioneer Fund — a racist foundation that funds research like that favored by American Renaissance — as "a perfectly respectable institution."
No wonder. Brimelow also runs articles by the Pioneer Fund's new president, Jean-Phillippe Rushton, another British expatriate who teaches at the University of Western Ontario and who has been investigated for violations of Canadian hate speech laws.
Among other things, Rushton has theorized about a supposed inverse relationship between penis and brain size (meaning, in his construction, that blacks on average are more promiscuous and less intelligent than whites and Asians). In New Orleans, Brimelow joined about 80 people who paid $250 for the two-day session to discuss "America: A European Nation." Unfortunately for him, Sam Francis was the penultimate speaker, discussing how today's immigrants "don't even know how to flush a toilet, the flushing toilet, a European invention, being a marker of civilization."
Francis went on to say that the governors of Arizona, New Mexico and Texas should be tried for treason for meeting with Mexican President Vicente Fox. By the time he was done, Brimelow had eight minutes. Brimelow raced through his usual speech on immigration, suggesting that Third World immigration had "changed the character of America" and calling for a cap on legal immigration and deportation of all illegals.Meanwhile, in the atrium outside the conference room where the meeting was held, a band was playing pop hits by black artists for a wedding party. As the music came pounding through the wall, Brimelow denounced it as "crap."…”

The SPLC profile of Howard Phillips and the Constitution Party.
“…Meanwhile, at the back of the conference room, Live Free or Die Campaign Supplies was doing a brisk business with buttons proclaiming Bush an "International Terrorist" (see right), and with similar buttons calling out Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of State Colin Powell, Attorney General John Ashcroft ("Domestic Terrorist") and Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge (ditto)….”
Remember, these are the conservatives who have promoted anything to hurt GWB. The SPLC on Baldwin’s association with the Constitution Party.
“…Like most Constitution Partiers, Baldwin was once a staunch Republican. But his quirky ideology is a perfect match for the party of God and guns. In addition to his fundamentalist beliefs, Baldwin was identified in a 1995 newspaper article as an active member of the Escambia County Militia. ("Jesus never preached disarmament," he explained.)Baldwin is well equipped to make his political conversion story sing on the campaign trail — and on his radio show. By the end of his acceptance speech in Valley Forge, the Pensacola pastor had transformed the somber convention into a fair approximation of a tent revival. Mixing piety and militance, Baldwin not only invoked the Biblical tale of David and Goliath, but also a couple of more secular battles."Tell those men at Bunker Hill, 'You cannot win!'" he thundered. "Tell those men at the Alamo, 'You cannot win!'" His new congregation whooped, cheered, Rebel-yelled and shouted amen.Skillfully bringing it down a notch, Baldwin ended with an exhortation from the New Testament that aptly summarized the rationale for his unlikely campaign: "We can do all things through Christ, who strengthens us."…”
BALDWIN’S CONSERVATIVE AGENDA
Baldwin’s position:
“…Furthermore, it is absolutely ludicrous to say we are fighting a war on terror half way around the world when we refuse to secure our borders and ports. If I were President, I would immediately seal our borders. I would also see to it that employers in America who knowingly hire illegal aliens are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. In plain language: any employer who consciously hires illegal aliens would go to jail. They would not pass Go; they would not collect $200; they would go straight to jail.
By sealing the borders and by cutting off the money supply to illegal aliens, the problem of illegal immigration would dry up. As it is, we have no idea how many potential terrorists--not to mention violent gang members such as MS-13--have snuck (and are sneaking) through our borders.
And speaking of illegal immigration, as President, I would enforce our visa rules. This means anyone who overstays their visa or otherwise violates U.S. law is immediately deported. There would be no "path to citizenship" given to any illegal alien. That means no amnesty. Not in any shape, manner, or form. I would not allow tax dollars to be used to pay for illegal aliens' education, social services, or medical care. As President, I would end birthright citizenship for illegal aliens. There would be no "anchor babies" during my administration.
…”
The irony of Baldwin's position is the fact that only people who are here "legally" are deserving of Christian care, humanity, and decency. Those who aren't here legally aren't even entitled to humanitarian care. Seems to me Baldwin claims to be a "Christian Baptist Pastor". I'm not sure how the Baptists operate today, but I know Episcopalians put a high premium on humanitarian aid and the idea that Christ requires us to help everyone, no matter what their station in life. But then, we Episcopalians are all going to hell because we are kind to those evil homosexuals. Go figure.
Evidently the only life that is sacred is “legal”.
“…If I were President, I would use the bully pulpit of the White House to encourage Congress to pass Congressman Ron Paul's Sanctity of Life Act. In short, this bill would do two things: First, it would declare that unborn babies are persons under the law. Second, under the authority of Article. III. Section. 2. of the U.S. Constitution, it would remove abortion from the jurisdiction of the Court. In essence, this bill would immediately overturn Roe v. Wade and end legalized abortion.
Republicans tout themselves as being "pro-life." Yet, the GOP controlled both houses of Congress and the White House for six years and did absolutely nothing to overturn Roe or end abortion-on-demand. Under my administration, we could end legal abortion in a matter of days, not decades. And if Congress refused to pass Dr. Paul's bill, I would use the constitutional power of the Presidency to deny funds to protect abortion clinics. Either way, legalized abortion ends when I take office….”
All of this aside, his version of security would hand Iraq to Iran, and open Israel up to obliteration. His foreign policy isn’t much different from Barack Obama, uber liberal. Funny how conservatives and liberals go so far extreme and they meet in the far middle.
Baldwin wrote:
“…I would begin the process of safely extracting our troops from Iraq. In the first place, our troops are no longer fighting a war, they are an occupation force, which occupies a sovereign country. And this is being done without a Declaration of War. The Iraqi people resent our occupation as much as we would resent another nation stronger than ours invading and occupying America. If such a thing happened to our beloved country, I'm sure many of us would also become "insurgents."
In the second place, the invasion and occupation of Iraq was absolutely unnecessary. Instead of sacrificing more than 4,000 American lives and the lives of tens of thousands of Iraqi citizens (not to mention some 2-3 trillion dollars), President Bush should have supported Ron Paul's bill, H.R. 3076, the September 11 Marque and Reprisal Act of 2001. This is the constitutional way to deal with rogue terrorist organizations. This is the way President Thomas Jefferson responded to the Barbary pirates….”

In Baldwin’s twisted Paulian world, they claim Jefferson for their own. Baldwin uses references to Jefferson, etc. but he has no grasp on history or the workings of the Constitution. He doesn't understand the following. If you realize that Jefferson was dealing with ISLAMIC slavers who were terrorizing the entire Mediterranean world, you can put some modern context to the story. He praises Jefferson for taking these people out, but yet refuses to do the same thing in Iraq. You can't have it both ways.
“…Paying the ransom would only lead to further demands, Jefferson argued in letters to future presidents John Adams, then America's minister to Great Britain, and James Monroe, then a member of Congress. As Jefferson wrote to Adams in a July 11, 1786, letter, "I acknolege [sic] I very early thought it would be best to effect a peace thro' the medium of war." Paying tribute will merely invite more demands, and even if a coalition proves workable, the only solution is a strong navy that can reach the pirates, Jefferson argued in an August 18, 1786, letter to James Monroe: "The states must see the rod; perhaps it must be felt by some one of them. . . . Every national citizen must wish to see an effective instrument of coercion, and should fear to see it on any other element than the water. A naval force can never endanger our liberties, nor occasion bloodshed; a land force would do both." "From what I learn from the temper of my countrymen and their tenaciousness of their money," Jefferson added in a December 26, 1786, letter to the president of Yale College, Ezra Stiles, "it will be more easy to raise ships and men to fight these pirates into reason, than money to bribe them."…”
“…When Jefferson became president in 1801 he refused to accede to Tripoli's demands for an immediate payment of $225,000 and an annual payment of $25,000. The pasha of Tripoli then declared war on the United States. Although as secretary of state and vice president he had opposed developing an American navy capable of anything more than coastal defense, President Jefferson dispatched a squadron of naval vessels to the Mediterranean. As he declared in his first annual message to Congress: "To this state of general peace with which we have been blessed, one only exception exists. Tripoli, the least considerable of the Barbary States, had come forward with demands unfounded either in right or in compact, and had permitted itself to denounce war, on our failure to comply before a given day. The style of the demand admitted but one answer. I sent a small squadron of frigates into the Mediterranean. . . ."
The American show of force quickly awed Tunis and Algiers into breaking their alliance with Tripoli. The humiliating loss of the frigate Philadelphia and the capture of her captain and crew in Tripoli in 1803, criticism from his political opponents, and even opposition within his own cabinet did not deter Jefferson from his chosen course during four years of war. The aggressive action of Commodore Edward Preble (1803-4) forced Morocco out of the fight and his five bombardments of Tripoli restored some order to the Mediterranean. However, it was not until 1805, when an American fleet under Commodore John Rogers and a land force raised by an American naval agent to the Barbary powers, Captain William Eaton, threatened to capture Tripoli and install the brother of Tripoli's pasha on the throne, that a treaty brought an end to the hostilities. Negotiated by Tobias Lear, former secretary to President Washington and now consul general in Algiers, the treaty of 1805 still required the United States to pay a ransom of $60,000 for each of the sailors held by the dey of Algiers, and so it went without Senatorial consent until April 1806. Nevertheless, Jefferson was able to report in his sixth annual message to Congress in December 1806 that in addition to the successful completion of the Lewis and Clark expedition, "The states on the coast of Barbary seem generally disposed at present to respect our peace and friendship."
In fact, it was not until the second war with Algiers, in 1815, that naval victories by Commodores William Bainbridge and Stephen Decatur led to treaties ending all tribute payments by the United States. European nations continued annual payments until the 1830s. However, international piracy in Atlantic and Mediterranean waters declined during this time under pressure from the Euro-American nations, who no longer viewed pirate states as mere annoyances during peacetime and potential allies during war….”

Baldwin doesn’t believe in foreign aide and would end all of it. He would curtail much of the UN and would pull us out of NATO! He would start a trade war with China. Then there is NAFTA, the greatest super conspiracy of them all. Baldwin, as a Paulian disciple would bring an end to the super highway and NAFTA. In other words, he would screw all our trading partners, including our greatest ally, Canada.
“…Furthermore, as President, I would take the preservation of our nation's sovereignty and independence extremely seriously. This means that the burgeoning North American Union is dead on arrival the day I am sworn in as President. Gone, too, is the NAFTA superhighway. And for that matter, I would lead the United States out of NAFTA and CAFTA altogether. And any prospect for the FTAA would be dead as well…..”
His economic policies are also disastrous.“…On the home front, if I were President, I would end corporate welfare. I would also work to disband the Department of Energy (along with the Department of Education and many other federal departments). There is absolutely no reason for us to be dependent upon OPEC. There is enough gas and oil under the soil of Alaska (not to mention the Dakotas and the Gulf of Mexico) to meet the energy needs of the United States for the next 150-200 years. There is also no reason that gas should cost more than $1.50 a gallon (which is about what it was before Bush became President).
We must begin drilling for the domestic oil that we know exists; we must build more refineries and nuclear power plants. There is no reason why the United States cannot be mostly energy independent. It is time we started putting the people and interests of the United States ahead of the CEOs and interests of international corporations.
Lastly, if I were President, I would work feverishly to overturn the Sixteenth Amendment, which would repeal the Income Tax. And, no, I would not promote a national sales tax. That would be disastrous! Can you imagine what a 30% sales tax would do to the cost of EVERYTHING? Plus, give politicians a national sales tax to increase and just imagine what kind of percent that would grow into!
I would also work to repeal the "death tax," inheritance taxes, and property taxes. The American people are already paying somewhere between 30% and 40% of their income to Uncle Sam. It must stop. We are bankrupting our country with this incessant and burdensome tax system. In addition, I would work to expunge the Federal Reserve and to restore the American economy to sound money….”
