The Kitten Died This Afternoon

SUNDAY, MAY 25

The kitten was doing quite well. Her adoptive parents went out for lunch and found her. She had died in the litter box, trying to get out. It was quite sad. She was adapting. Her diarrhea was starting to solidify. She was eating.

The odd thing is ALL of my carport kitties have disappeared. I’m furious. I’m afraid something has happened to them. I just noticed that most of the Meow Mix has been eaten. Maybe Kay is right, there’s so much activity here, they are just scared.

Is The Problem Gas/Oil Prices, Environmentalists, or Lobbyists

OR COWARDLY PROSTITUTES POLITICIANS?

Faultline has one of the best pieces I’ve seen on gas prices. I’d probably only link to it in the evening, but it brings up something I was going to write about yesterday but was sidetracked. Mentioned is the fact that travel is lighter than usual this Memorial Day.

Where I am in New Mexico I WISH! Traffic is not down. Fact is, things are booming a little in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico when it comes to oil. There is so much money flying around here it is annoying. Yesterday I went in town ... more »

PHOENIX HAS LANDED

I'm sitting here watching the downlink coming in - successfully! The solar array has deployed. The photos are excellent. It looks like one of the

to come in are landscapes. We can now view a part of Mars we've never yet seen! So far the rocks are showing ice action. Cool. Phoenix landed with something like only a quarter degree off verticle. Evidently everything looks to have deployed (so far) properly.

Honoring My Family's Favorite Soldier

Today he emailed:

"...I'm glad I'm here though it's not easy. I'm amazed how many people have volunteered to serve in Iraq. There's one guy who retired as a colonel in the National Guard. He wanted to go with his son in his old unit. The NG allowed him to deploy with him but as a Sergeant. He agreed.

Well please enjoy your weekend. For us it's another working day and another day I don't mind working."
