The Pink Flamingo :: Life, the Clintons and Barack Obama

Yesterday, as I was driving down to Alamo to see Indiana Jones, I was listening to FOX on XM. A piece came up about Senator Kennedy being unable to fulfill his obligation to deliver an address at graduation celebrations at Wellesley College, Hillary Clinton’s Alma Mater. Senator Kennedy has requested that Barack Obama deliver the address for him.

Why not ask Hillary Clinton? She is without a doubt Wellesley’s most famous graduate.

It was like a light-bulb finally being switched on in my pathetic mind. Ted Kennedy is supporting Barack Obama because he IS NOT supporting the Clintons.

Get it?

It took some ‘splainin’ for me to get my fellow passengers in the car to realize what I’d just realized.

Ted Kennedy endorsed Barack Obama BECAUSE HE IS NOT SUPPORTING THE CLINTONS.

Finally get it?

It dawned on me that much of this fawning and slobbering support the various and sundry libs are slathering all over Barack Obama has very little to actually do with the Cult of Barack Obama and more to do with their genuine dislike of THE CLINTONS. The rank and file political animal is becoming more and more aware that Barack Obama is nothing more than a Chicago hack. There is more and more talk that Dems are increasingly unhappy with Barack Obama and terrified he is going to lead them down the primrose path to oblivion this fall.
From McCain Supporters:

“…Behind the scenes, ‘Donna Darko‘ blog is reporting that “Radio Talk Show Host Steve Corbett from Hillary’s home town in PA” has launched a campaign called, “OPERATION TURN DOWN” to let the “DNC know we will TURN DOWN OBAMA.”
And ‘HillBuzz‘ blog is reporting that “Cynthia Ruccia, in Ohio, has started a group for women who will not support Barack Obama for president under any circumstances.” They report that the “group’s name is ‘Clinton Supporters Count Too,’” but that it “is not outwardly associated with the growing Democrats for McCain movement, or the corresponding Latinos for McCain or LGBT for McCain movements.”

HillBuzz says that although Hillary has stated otherwise, “in the interest of full-disclosure,” the “treatment Obama and his supporters have given Hillary Clinton and her supporters makes it seem highly unrealistic that the bulk of Clinton’s base would ever line up behind Obama, should he be the nominee…The consensus is: if not President Hillary Rodham Clinton, then it will be President John Sidney McCain.”…”

Is it possible that Barack Obama has a serious elect ability problem?
Is it possible the rank and file Democrat knows that?

Why would the rank and file Democrat who knows that even be interested in supporting Barack Obama? Is it to stop the Clintons?

Let’s think about Bill Richardson’s endorsement of Barack Obama. It was more an un-endorsement of Bill Clinton than an endorsement of Barack Obama. What if the others felt this way? What if Barack Obama is only being supported because the rank and file Democrat is sick and tired of the Clintons and want to get rid of them?

What if these same people are making a calculated risk to sacrifice the White House one more time just to accomplish a few goals:
1. Secure the minority vote which might have been slipping toward the GOP
2. Get rid of the Clintons
3. Get rid of that arrogant SOB upstart

Do you really think all those men and women in the US Senate and House, good Democrats all, along with a slew of highly qualified governors are really happy about an unqualified upstart beating the you know what out of them at the polls?

I don’t think so.

But – by allowing the little twerp to have his way, and everyone hold hands and sing KumBiYa they are “united” and they GET RID OF THE CLINTONS!

You regain your sliding minority voters.
You gain an entire generation of brand new voters.
You may antagonize a few older white women, but they are heading GOP anyway.
You look good.
You look like you are not racist.
You get rid of that annoying little snotty upstart.
YOU GET RID OF THE CLINTONS!

If Hillary wins
You lose that generation of brand new voters.
You lose the minority vote to the GOP.
You get rid of that snotty little upstart.
YOU ARE STUCK WITH THE CLINTONS.

Besides, everyone likes and respects John McCain. How bad can it be? Better lose the White House (again) and hold on to the House and the Senate. Even if the GOP makes gains there, McCain will most definitely put Joe Lieberman in the Cabinet. You get rid of him. He will probably give Lindsey a cabinet post – and maybe you get a toe-hold in South Carolina.

How bad can it be?

YOU GET RID OF THE CLINTONS!
