Thirteen Most Excellent "Cop" Themes

Okay, I admit it.  I like cop shows.  Unfortunately, with the exception of the line-up on USA on Friday night, I really don't think there's a "traditional" cop show on network.  The 1980's were the best of times. Somewhere they did a list of the greatest cop shows ever.  Believe it or not, my favorite one was declared the very best cop show ever.  I've saved it for last.

1.  COPS

This is dedicated to my 7 lb. toy poodle
Ronald Rumsfeld Reidhead Reagan.
He’s that bad!
This is his theme.
I know, how could anything this cute be so bad?
You just don't know!

By the time he was 3 months old he was banned from Tombstone.  Considering all the bad guys, Cowboys, and outlaws that have frequented The Town Too Tough to Die, do you know how bad you must be to be banned? He has been banned from two kennels for partying way to much while boarding.  At one kennel he tunneled through the drain pipe to spend the night with a hot little Pug.  Then there is the time he had a birthday party and terrorized the cats attending.  He keeps bouncing up and down until he jumps up on the kitchen counter to steal cat food.  He loves to go diving in the cat box for a little nibble of (gag) you know what!  When Doc Holiday gets mad she beats him to a pulp (weekly).  Doc Holiday is a cat. He can trash the condo in about 15 minutes.  He shreds tissue.  He loves to pull TP off the roll, and has been known to TP the whole condo.  I cannot put the stuff on the rolls, but must keep it up out of reach. He is an escape artist.  He is not allowed to stay with his grandparents because he gets out and runs off to play.  He loves to roll in fresh cow-pies! He is a junk yard poodle at heart! He likes to shred the garbage bags and drag trash around the condo.  His favorite hobby, besides chasing cats, is rolling in fresh cat-nip.  He then wonders why the cats keep chasing him!  He and Mommy Cat are officially married.  That should explain everything you need to know but were afraid to ask.

2.  HAWAII 5-0
I think this is still the best TV theme ever!

3.  WALKER TEXAS RANGER

My father's favorite.

4.  S.W.A.T.

My father & grandfather always watched this.

5.  MIAMI VICE
Incredible music.
I'm still wearing the pastels.
I'm from South Florida.
Why else do you think it's The Pink Flamingo?

6.  THE A TEAM
My grandfather Froehlich really liked this one.
He would come over to my parents to watch it on the large screen.
Those are treasured memories.

7.  BARETTA
(Oh the irony!)
Sammy Davis, Jr. does the opening theme.

8.  THE MOD SQUAD

9.  CHARLIE’S ANGELS
My father liked this one.
Wonder why?

10.  THE MAN FROM UNCLE

(My first "crush - Illya!)

11.  MISSION IMPOSSIBLE

12.  SIMON & SIMON

I have a cousin who threatened to name her children Rick & AJ!

13. THE BEST FOR LAST!
No question the best "scenery" (sigh)

Dime con quien andas y te digo quien eres.
