THE CONSERVATIVE TREASON LOBBY
Libertarian blogs are buzzing at the possibility that Bob Barr will inflate his ego and run for POTUS, thereby preventing John McCain from winning and thereby allowing a marxist socialist victory. In doing so they will also doom our nation to deplorable SCOTUS appointments and a devastating war with Iran.
Or as one suicide bomber conservative breathlessly reports
“…Or, as Ronald Reagan said about leaving the Democrat Party, “I didn’t leave the party. The party left me.” There are many voters who feel the same way about today’s Republican party. Those voters could dash John McCain’s presidential hopes onto the same rocks that H.W. Bush, and Al Gore crashed against…”
Quite frankly, I don’t understand people who are STUPID enough to support a third party run that is doomed to defeat and will bring about a an abject disaster of a new POTUS. Do they think they are punishing the country for not submitting to their irrational demands? I think people like this are just plain evil. It isn’t that I don’t respect their right to run as a 3rd party, but when we are facing what is going to be a war with Iran It makes me angry.
How reliable is that 7% polling number Bob Barr says he is pulling? Poli Pundit has more information. There are any number of sore headed conservatives and libertarians who will vote for him. Will he be the GOP version of Ralph Nadar or Ross Perot? George Will in Newsweek says he is a huge problem for McCain.
It is all about ruining John McCain.
It has nothing to do with country, patriotism, or human decency or honor. It has everything to do with petty, narcissist, immature conservative hatred of John McCain and nothing more. This irrational hatred is going to prove to be a disaster for this country if the rational cannot be employed. Rick Moran reports that Bob Barr said that Barack Obama doesn’t understand freedom. Well, neither does Barr. The problem with all of this exciting pronouncement of Barr’s prowess at the polls may not be accurate. Freedom Democrats reports he was slaughtered this week in NC in a libertarian straw poll.
The Proxy War with Iran
WHY WE NEED MCCAINI don’t pay as much attention to this as I should. Last night, while watching a rerun of Britt Hume’s show, the end of the show discussion about Iran was chilling. Evidently Ryan Crocker is right. We are in a proxy war with Iran.
“…During the interview, Mr. Crocker accused Iran of meddling in Afghanistan, Lebanon and Gaza, in addition to Iraq. He also faulted Iraq’s Arab neighbors for refusing to help, noting that a promised Saudi Arabian Embassy had yet to materialize. “The Arabs are basically missing in action,” Mr. Crocker said. He said that while Saudi Arabia had helped in American attempts to rein in the flow of foreign fighters into Iraq, Sunni governments in the Middle East needed to establish more of a diplomatic presence in Iraq, which Bush officials believe would further legitimize the American-backed Iraqi government….”
I think this is one of the main reasons Barack Obama cannot be allowed to be elected. Let’s fact the fact if he is, it is going to be a serious defeat for the GOP in both the House and the Senate. If this occurs, Obama and his associates are going to be allowed to run rough-shod on our foreign policy. Considering his associates, this is terrifying. Unfortunately, if those numbers Bob Barr are touting are accurate (I do not think they are) this is exactly what would happen.
(American Power) references a rather prophetic Joe Lieberman Opinion Journal piece. The worst part of all of this is the fact that all the Obamarama rhetoric is obscuring the very real problem we are facing. The irony is that either way, John McCain is looking better every day either via Obama’s abject … or his abject lack of foreign policy experience. Unfortunately, if we are to survive a war with Iran, we need a true patriot who understands the very real danger we are facing. Neither Hillary Clinton nor Barack Obama even comprehend the dangers that are going to be threatening the civilized world in the very near future. We also need to face the fact that Iran is funding Al Qaeda in Iraq.
