We’ve had worse days, but this one is in the top five since I’ve lived here. This morning I was going to put it as the 3rd worst windy day, but I think I will put it at #5. We are expecting a monster day tomorrow. Fed Ex came by this morning. I thought the poor woman was going to end up with her arm caught in the door it was blowing so bad. It was miserable. Rumsfeld had a rough day. He went downstairs to the bedroom with me this evening. Doc trapped him in the ... more»
THURSDAY THIRTEEN The Pink Flamingo’s 70th Edition Thursday Thirteen Thirteen Most Excellent "Cop" Themes
Okay, I admit it. I like cop shows. Unfortunately, with the exception of the line-up on USA on Friday night, I really don't think there's a "traditional" cop show on network. The 1980's were the best of times. Somewhere they did a list of the greatest cop shows ever. Believe it or not, my favorite one was declared the very best cop show ever. I've saved it for last.
WHY SHOULD I BE FORCED TO ATONE FOR THE SINS OF MY ANCESTORS?
Today, Dave at Oricus links to a commentary at Fire Dog Lake about a Peggy Noonan column. I have long ago said the venerable Ms Noonan is not firing on all thrusters. I think this time she has basically driven over a cliff. On April 28 at the WSJ Noonan wrote:
“…Main thought. Hillary Clinton is not Barack Obama's problem. America is Mr. Obama's problem. He has been tagged as a snooty lefty, as the glamorous, ambivalent candidate from Men's Vogue, the candidate who loves America ... more»
I think the title just about says it all. I think I had 4 hours sleep last night. Right about now I can barely keep my eyes open. I’ve been tweaking the blog again. Got a few helpful hints on how to make the basted site meter work. We shall see.
The great irony here is Barack Obama’s less than honorable behavior isn’t going to matter a bit to his supporters. They want change. Well, they got it. This adult (I don’t think he’s a ‘real’ man but a Plastic Ken) is so full of prevarications and canards, he makes Bill Clinton appear honest! It makes you appreciate being a Republican.
Barack Obama wants us to believe this is not the same man he knew, as he denounced Jeremiah Wright. Granted the man isn't flying on all thrusters, but somehow it is just too little too late, not that it bothers me! So, today at lunch, while accosting the husband of one of my best friends (he's a Dem, she's Republican) I just thought this should be the new Obama Theme. (Besides, it's just plain good music!)
Everything is fine, now. I still think they are one of the better blog hosts. The downtime is so very low.
Site Meter is still not recording hits for The Pink Flamingo. I’m serious. According to them, I’ve not had a hit in months. I’ve tried everything. Last night I imbedded the code into the CSS. Hope that helps. I don’t know what else to try. It is picking up the other things I’m using it with, but it basically REFUSES to pick up The Pink Flamingo. You look at it and think there is absolutely no ... more»
I’m not a fan of Judicial Watch. I think it is a crock. As if to prove my point, that my theory that certain conservatives are going to do all they can to ruin the man, Judicial Watch pops up and files a FEC Complaint against John McCain.
“…“Recent news reports suggest that Sen. John McCain and John McCain for President may have accepted an in-kind contribution from foreign nationals Lord Rothschild OM GBE and the Hon. Nathaniel Rothschild of Great Britain in contravention of federal election laws,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton wrote ... more»
"...Aristotle defined hubris as follows: to cause shame to the victim, not in order that anything may happen to you, nor because anything has happened to you, but merely for your own gratification. Hubris is not the requital of past injuries; this is revenge. As for the pleasure in hubris, its cause is this: men think that by ill-treating others they make their own superiority the greater...."
One of the great third party narcissists, Chuck Baldwin, pulled off something of a coup this weekend and is now the Constitution Party’s nominee for POTUS. This is excellent news for John McCain because it is the very worst thing that could happen to Bob Barr’s proposed Libertarian Ego Fest. This could be the best of all possible solutions to the whole "Third Party" threat of any of these yahoos. These twerps are going to cancel one another's votes. They are vying for the same voter - the chip-on-the-shoulder, sore-head, dis-functional, hate-everything-different voter. ... more»
BARACK OBAMA’S LITTLE FRIENDS This spring I’ve read several excellent books about Narcissists (Is Oprah Starting Her Own Cult) and people with severe personality disorders. I think one of the best is Snakes in Suits (Amazon link below). There is also Without Conscience. I’ve had problems in dealing with Narcissists and psychopaths for the past few months and felt I need to know a little about the subject. Sally Vee (thanks for the articles) sent me... more»
THE BEGINNING OF THE END? Larry Johnson at No Quarter is heralding the End of Barack Obama. He thinks today’s debacle at the National Press Club is going to destroy Barack Obama’s chances. It isn’t going to help, that’s for sure. Johnson quotes a WPost piece:
“…Speaking before an audience that included Marion Barry, Cornel West, Malik Zulu Shabazz of the New Black Panther Party and Nation of Islam official Jamil Muhammad, Wright praised Louis Farrakhan, defended the view that Zionism is racism, accused the United States of terrorism, repeated his view that the government created ... more»
There are days when I can find nothing to write about. This is not one of those days. I emailed Sally Vee a little while ago and mentioned I just did not know where to start. I thought about doing another Obama-O-Rama, but I realize I have one more day to go in my self-enforced Obama boycott. Race 42008 has picked upon the fact that he may do the federal financing for the general election – you read it here a week ago! But, I’m still on the Obama-O-Rama Wagon. But, not to worry, we have (drum-roll ... more»
It is called Restore the Republic. There is a master plan for Ron Paul Bots to take over the GOP county by county. Everyone has been laughing, saying this can’t happen, but evidently these little freaks are trying to take the GOP away from normal, decent Republicans. And, we’re so Republican, we’re allowing it to happen. The good thing is it looks like they aren't doing all that well. The bad thing is these freaks are organized. They remind me of the critters who couldn't be swatted in some bad sci ... more»
Demands are finally being made to force Michael Chertoff to either resign or be removed from his position as the Secretary of Homeland Security. It is possible the man has a track record of not telling the truth. Last September BLM officials informed Michael Chertoff that the proposed border fence would cause irreparable damage to the fragile San Pedro aquifer and the Riparian sanctuary. Evidently Chertoff LIED about the information the BLM gave to him and just went on as planned, ignoring the Constitution of the US.
You will find my four part Cochise County immigration piece below. Have fun reading it. I have a feeling it could be part of a new book. I did some copy/paste from a couple of my books: TRAVESTY and A CHURCH FOR HELLDORADO. Please note that all the passages I used in the books are have a copyright on them and cannot be used without my permission.
While I was working on the article this afternoon, I had one of those Eureka Moments! After 15 years of stalking Wyatt Earp, I looked at his life and ... more»
Last weekend some serious charges were leveled at The Pink Flamingo, questioning methods and sources. Several days ago Harold Hutchinson at Called As Seen detailed some of the problems. I was accused by someone who alleges to be from “the border” of not knowing what I’m talking about – of lying.
Years ago, when my sister and I were in high school, a women from our church and her husband confronted my mother, making some off the wall accusations about my sister and I. Our mother never said anything, but went the high school ... more»
Everyone and their pack mule knew the vast desert along the Mexican border in what was then Pima County, A. T. (Arizona Territory) was literally ‘dripping’ with rich mineral deposits. The problem was the Apache. They were angry. They were fierce, and they were often fatal. Several ill-fated expeditions to Goose Flats, where everyone knew there was bonanza in silver, always ended in disaster. In 1879 Ed Schieffelin, a prospector who was working as an army scout out of Fort Huachuca (the same one) announced he was going to head over to the Goose Flats area ... more»
Everyone wanted a piece of the action. They wanted their ‘fair share’. They wanted the money. Because the Apache were “under control” it was easier for Mexican merchants to cross the border along specific trade routes that had been established a thousand years pervious (and are still in use today). Tombstone had the money. They could afford things. They paid big money for things, at highly inflated rates. The Mexican traders would make their way back into Sonora, rich, their pockets full of Tombstone gold.

FROM: A CHURCH FOR HELLDORADO P. 13, 14 49The Gunfight at the OK Corral occurred on October 26, 1881. To make a very long “and involved story as short as possible is to gloss over a hundred salient facts. The bottom line is Wyatt Earp and his brothers had been threatened by misc. Cowboys at misc. times during the previous year. Things came to a head the night of the 25th, when Ike and Frank McLaury rode into town and began drinking. Ike became drunk. He threatened the Earps. Doc Holliday heard him ... more»
