View Article  Watching the Media Ignore John Glenn
TUESDAY, MARCH 4

I wish I believed in live blogging.  If so I would be irate.  I am the most loyal Republican in the world, BUT when John Glenn, American Hero, comes on, these stupid blank blank (deleted due to Lent) morons in the media need to shut up and snap to attention.  That’s Glenn!  Have they already forgotten who he is?  He is John Glenn Hero Astronaut.  You stop everything you are doing and treat him the way you would have treated Ted Williams.  There aren’t many people in that league, but John Glenn and Ted Williams are there ...   more »

(AND) PLEASE LET HIM WIN!
This evening John McCain and Mike Huckabee showed us why the GOP is the party of patriotism, heroics, decency, honor, and just plain class.  Both men made me so proud of my country and so proud to be a Republican, I had tears in my eyes and I drove along Hwy 80 from Benson to Tombstone.

I thought about the irony of the location – the road from Benson to Tombstone, and the man of the hour.  I also though about he and Wyatt Earp.  Both men are forever linked with Arizona.  Wyatt was ...   more »

FAIR PLAY?
I grew up in a horrible little community in South Carolina called Fair Play.  No, it wasn’t that horrible, but I resented the move my parents made (worst thing parents ever did).  It received its name because until fairly recent times, it was borderland between South Carolina and Georgia.  Because boxing was illegal in both states, they would go along the state line and engage in the manly sport of fisticuffs. They went there for “fair play”, thus the name.  I think after today’s doings, it is rather apparent that the concept is rather alien to Barack Obama ...   more »

THE ARROGANCE OF HYPE
This morning on Fox I heard something fascinating.  The Obama Campaign is in it for the long haul.  Why would he say that this morning?  Do they know something we don't know?  AJ Strata has noted the same downward trend.  I trust you will enjoy dealing with what I am calling a Kitchen Sink post.  Race42008 has some numbers for the evening.  My question:  If Hillary does win, is the Obama campaign going to continue to demand she pull out of the race?  I have no doubt that they will.

Any confrontation, question, or criticism of ...   more »

MONDAY, MARCH 3

I had a full night’s sleep last night!  It was the first in well over a week. Then, this afternoon we continued our assault on local antique shops.  I found a fascinating turn of the century laudanum bottle, complete with label.  I also found a cough syrup bottle in its box, that has the 20proof alcohol label along with the chloroform content! Even if it did not stop the cough, the cougher could have cared less!  Because of all the antique shopping, once again I am late getting the blog up for the day.  Tomorrow we are ...   more »
