IS THERE A DIFFERENCE?
Kyle-Anne Shriver has delivered with yet another hard-hitting American Thinker piece. She basically mentions the fact that her grandmother always mentioned that you are known by the company you keep. My grandmother Froehlich had her own version, “If you lie down with dogs you wake up with fleas.” Both versions work. The real problem is while conservatives are castigating Barack Obama for his association and pathetic ‘denunciation’ of Jeremiah Wright, they are ignoring their own little problem. Months ago, when Sam Brownback began his failed Presidential campaign, he ran on a hard-line anti-immigration platform. Several months into the campaign Brownback shocked the world when he denounced Tom Tancredo for taking money from John Tanton, who is one of the most high-profile pro-Planned Parenthood supporters around.
Tanton is the genesis of 90% of the anti-immigration fervor and organizations promoting hard-line reform. He comes to the battle not because of immigration reform BUT population control. Brownback realized he could not associate with Tanton and his organizations because of their adherence to strong pro-abortion ideals. He castigated Tancredo for giving lip service to an anti-abortion platform, but had taken close to $26,000 from Tanton.
It’s the company you keep. Barack Obama’s association with Tony Rezko and Jeremiah Wright should immediately force a person to question his character, via his ‘buds’. Unfortunately liberals aren’t touching it.
I still think the whole Larry Sinclair thing needs to be examined more than it has been. A comment was left on the PF post about Sinclair and his lie detector test.
“…Title: Re: BREAKING: The Polygraph Tests Official Release – Expert a Fraud!

One of the P Multanis may have been deported. The gentleman in question was allegedly the chauffeur in the limo where Sinclair and Obama allegedly had their little rendezvous. Body:

WHAT DOES OBAMA KNOW AND WHEN DID HE KNOW IT?
The Amboy Times quotes LGF that quotes the Astute Blogger.
Rich Lowery the goods, and it is a thing of beauty. What did Obama know and when did he know about it?
Say Anything is quoted by the Sun Times then nails him.
“…The title of Reverend Wright’s sermon that morning was “The Audacity of Hope.” He began with a passage from the Book of Samuel—the story of Hannah, who, barren and taunted by her rivals, had wept and shaken in prayer before her God. The story reminded him, he said, of a sermon a fellow pastor had preached at a conference some years before, in which the pastor described going to a museum and being confronted by a painting title Hope.
“The painting depicts a harpist,” Reverend Wright explained, “a woman who at first glance appears to be sitting atop a great mountain. Until you take a closer look and see that the woman is bruised and bloodied, dressed in tattered rags, the harp reduced to a single frayed string. Your eye is then drawn down to the scene below, down to the valley below, where everywhere are the ravages of famine, the drumbeat of war, a world groaning under strife and deprivation.
“It is this world, a world where cruise ships throw away more food in a day than most residents of Port-au-Prince see in a year, where white folks’ greed runs a world in need, apartheid in one hemisphere, apathy in another hemisphere…That’s the world! On which hope sits!”
And so it went, a meditation on a fallen world. While the boys next to me doodled on their church bulletin, Reverend Wright spoke of Sharpsville and Hiroshima, the callousness of policy makers in the White House and in the State House. As the sermon unfolded, though, the stories of strife became more prosaic, the pain more immediate. The reverend spoke of the hardship that the congregation would face tomorrow, the pain of those far from the mountaintop, worrying about paying the light bill…”

What a beautiful segue: Malkin on Jeremiah-Gate and now I’ll just turn to the SPLC and their discussion about FAIR and their contacts to white supremacists. First though, a little Pink Flamingo retrospect on Malkin & Tanton.
“…The vast majority of these groups were founded or funded by John Tanton, a major architect of the contemporary nativist movement who, 20 years ago, was already warning of a destructive "Latin onslaught" heading to the United States. Most of these organizations used their vast resources in the days leading up to a vote on the bill to stir up a nativist backlash that ultimately resulted in its death.
At the center of the Tanton web is the nonprofit Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), the most important organization fueling the backlash against immigration. Founded by Tanton in 1979, FAIR has long been marked by anti-Latino and anti-Catholic attitudes. It has mixed this bigotry with a fondness for eugenics, the idea of breeding better humans discredited by its Nazi associations. It has accepted $1.2 million from an infamous, racist eugenics foundation. It has employed officials in key positions who are also members of white supremacist groups. Recently, it has promoted racist conspiracy theories about Mexico's secret designs on the American Southwest and an alternative theory alleging secret plans to merge the United States, Mexico and Canada. Just last February, a senior FAIR official sought "advice" from the leaders of a racist Belgian political party….”

CONSERVATIVES GONE BAD
The SPLC profiles a group of ‘new’ nativists.
There’s Rusty Childress of Phoenix, an associate of Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
“…As president of United for Sovereign America, Childress presides over weekly anti-immigration summits at his Kia dealership. Past speakers have included Glenn Spencer, founder of the hate group American Border Patrol; John Watson of White Knights of America; neo-Nazi J.T. Ready, who equates Mexican immigrants to "fleas fleeing a dead dog which they sucked dry"; and state legislator Russell Pearce, who infamously forwarded an E-mail from the neo-Nazi group National Alliance to his supporters in 2006….”
While some consider Jerome Corsi a conservative “hero” he is doing what he can to undermine John McCain. Then there is the dimwit Michelle Dellacroce of Mothers Against Illegal Aliens. “…Dallacroce is also something of a media darling, having logged more than 50 interviews, including a May 18, 2006, appearance on Fox News' "Your World With Neil Cavuto," where she said there is no reason "that we have to have" immigrant women and children in the United States, since there are no jobs for "the women and the children [to] do … other than their children's job … to dumb down the American children and overpopulate the schools."…”
The SPLC is also pulling the nativist rug out from under William Gheen. His group, ALIPAC is a subsidy of FAIR.“…Since his initial victory, Gheen has gone on national media outlets including CNN, FOX and National Public Radio to launch preemptive strikes against any bill or ordinance that he perceives as sympathetic to immigrants, and to support laws proposed to deny public benefits to immigrants, to empower local police to arrest Latinos on federal immigration charges, and to fine anyone who employs an undocumented immigrant. He even pressed for a Senate bill to fund a study of buying buses to deport immigrants in massive numbers. ALI-PAC is supported by the Federation for American Immigration Reform, recently designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center's Intelligence Project, and allied with various Minuteman factions….”
Kris Kobach is a big time Republican. “…In 2004, Kobach ran for Congress with the support of FAIR (which donated $10,000) and Mary Lou Tanton, wife of racist FAIR founder John Tanton. (At the same time, he worked on a FAIR lawsuit against a Kansas law granting in-state tuition rates to the children of undocumented immigrants. The suit was dismissed.) Kobach lost by 11 percentage points after his opponent accused him of ties to white supremacists. Kobach also has taught constitutional and immigration law since 2003 at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, but has come under attack there for anti-immigrant bias. In January 2007, for instance, fliers appeared on campus accusing Kobach of inflating his credentials and crafting bad law. In the classroom, he uses as a text a controversial book by political science professor Samuel Huntington that argues that today's immigrants will "divide the United States into two peoples, two cultures, two languages." Kobach, who in 2007 became chairman of the Kansas Republican Party, is far-right Christian fundamentalist. During his 2004 campaign, he accused his opponent of associating with groups supporting "homosexual pedophilia." He was referring to the Human Rights Campaign, a mainstream gay rights organization that has never come remotely close to endorsing pedophilia…."
How about Maricopa County GOP’s own little neo-Nazi J. T. Ready? “…The past president of the Mesa Community College Republican Club and current Maricopa County Republican precinct committeeman, Ready is deeply involved in mainstream conservative politics. He's also an outright neo-Nazi. Ready spoke at a rally put on by the neo-Nazi National Socialist Movement in Omaha, Neb., last September (where he was billed as an "Arizona Republican activist") and appeared at the neo-Nazi National Vanguard's "Winterfest" gathering in Phoenix last December. He regularly posts to white nationalist online forums, including NewSaxon, where last December he offered this charming observation on the root causes of illegal immigration: "The truth is that negroids screw monkeys and rape babies in afreaka [sic]. Then stupid white man who licks kosher jew rear lets negroids in. … Stop Negroid immigration and integration now!!! Nature will take care of the rest."…’
The SPLC has just a little more about FAIR, the CofCC, and a few misc. little neo-Nazis. “…FAIR responded to the Center's hate group designation with a press release that defended, among other things, its acceptance of more than $1 million from the racist Pioneer Fund. The fund, whose original mandate was to pursue "race betterment" by promoting the genetic stock America's white settlers, backs racist "research," including that of American Renaissance, a white supremacist newsletter that has suggested that black people are inherently psychopathic.
FAIR also claimed that it had never "hired anyone who was a member of a 'white supremacist group.'" But as the Report documented, FAIR had long employed Rick Oltman, a speaker at several events put on by the white supremacist Council of Conservative Citizens, or CCC. (The CCC explicitly claimed Oltman as a member.) The Report also said that FAIR had hired Joe Turner, founder of the anti-immigrant hate group Save Our State, as its western region representative in November 2006. Although Turner denies being a racist, he has defended white nationalism. "I can make the argument that someone who proclaims to be a white nationalist isn't necessarily a white supremacist. I don't think that standing up for your 'kind' or 'your race' makes you a bad person," Turner wrote in 2005.
Shortly after the Report added FAIR to its hate group list, Turner disappeared from FAIR's staff roster. Calls to FAIR officials seeking an explanation for Turner's unannounced departure were not returned. A switchboard operator told a caller who asked for Turner only, "He's no longer with the company." Turner's abrupt exit seems to have hurt FAIR's image in nativist extremist circles….”

NO DIFFERENCE
There really is no actual difference between Barack Obama’s Jeremiah Wright and the various and sundry anti-immigration “haters” who manipulate the GOP. If Obama denounces Wright, which he had done in a half-hearted manner, shouldn’t various and sundry conservative pundits, and talk radio hosts be forced to do the same with all these anti-immigration hard-liners? I am perfectly aware there is a difference between a Presidential candidate and associates and members of the conservative MSM and theirs.
The problem is if our conservatives want t be intellectually honest and above reproach, they need to do a little denouncing themselves.
