HOW TO DESTROY A PARTY
I’m sorry, but I am using the word “STUPID”. You ought to be thankful it is Lent and I’ve given up the use of profanity. Hard line anti-immigration candidates are LOSERS! They lose. Get it? L-0-S-E.
I’ve been accused recently of not being of sound moral of political mentality. I’ve also been accused of being insulting. Frankly, if I thought simple insults could force anti-immigration Republicans to come to their senses before they destroy any more of our majority, I would do so. Unfortunately, I don’t think that will work. Right now, I don’t know of anything that will work. Maybe pulling the plug on talk radio might help, but I a so very afraid we’ve gone beyond reason we’re doomed.
Harold Hutchinson is a battle scarred warrior and one of the good guys in this war He references a WSJ piece about much the same thing.
“…Mr. Foster called for comprehensive reform that includes a path to citizenship for illegals and deflected his opponent's over-the-top rhetoric by reminding voters that a subcontractor at one of Mr. Oberweis's ice cream shops was caught employing illegal immigrants.Republicans such as Mr. Oberweis remain convinced that illegal immigration is a winning issue. And if the electorate were comprised mostly of Internet screechers and cable news anchors, they might be right. But the fact that Mr. McCain, the Presidential candidate most closely associated with immigration tolerance, has outlasted Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee and other immigration hardliners, should be an indication that other issues are foremost in the minds of even GOP voters. Saturday's result showed once again that a hard line on illegal immigration doesn't win election…”
If liberals have figured this out – that Immigration is a loser – what is so difficult for conservatives?
Oricus quotes Archpundit, who provides this absolutely LUSHOUS little tidbit of information. Picture this - Jim Oberweis ANTI IMMIGRATION L – 0 – S – E – R, is on the board of Numbers USA.
Right now if the exit polls in Mississippi are correct something like 90% of the GOP BASE is quite satisfied with John McCain. Now, picture this – Right Pundits are thrilled that Mitt Romney is making himself available for John McCain to share the ticket with McCain? Romney is unacceptable to me because of his Willard come lately position on immigration. The few conservatives who are still sulking because John McCain cleaned their precious little conservative clocks who are refusing to vote for John McCain will be more than made up for by Hispanic voters who will RETURN to the GOP because John McCain has a decent and humane approach to immigration reform. Considering how conservative Mississippi is, guess what? We don’t need Mitt Romney! We need someone who can bring in Reagan Democrats. From other exit polling, there’s a good third of Hillary’s voters who will not vote for Obama. That could be the margin of victory in November. One thing I do know, anti-immigration candidates are going to lose big time.

“…A McCain/Romney ticket would also put the conservative vote, including Ann Coulter, back in the McCain column as Coulter offered McCain a peace treaty last month by agreeing to vote for McCain if he put Romney on the ticket. Coulter refers to Mitt as the “conservative’s conservative.”…”
I don’t know about you, but that’s enough for me to hope and pray Mitt Romney is not on the ticket. Ann Coulter’s advocacy is the WORST POSSIBLE THING that could happen to John McCain. How much more evidence and how many additional GOP losses will it take for good, decent Republicans who are being deluded into believing that Immigration Reform is a winner for the party. It is not. In fact, the real winner for the GOP?
“…The California, Arizona and New Mexico Mexican voters uniformly rejected Obama even as leftist Virginia Salvadorans rejoiced in voting for a philosophical kinsman. Obama cannot count on Mexican votes for the simple reason that such voters do not share leftist roots with Salvadorans or Obama. The Texas Mexican American, for example, idolizes fellow Texan war heroes, Medal of Honor awardees -- Cleto Rodriguez, David Barckley, Lucien Adams, Macario Garcia, Jose Lopez, Silvestre Herrera, Benito Martinez, Alfredo Gonzalez, Roy Benevides and Miguel Keith. Accepting community organizing in Chicago as service to the country is difficult to accept for a state and its people that for the 160 years Mexican Americans have been Americans have contributed so much on Asian, Middle East and European battlefields. Vote totals in California, Arizona and New Mexico on February 5th prove beyond doubt that Mexican Americans are more centrist than Obama and his followers. They also disprove the Times Editorial writer who glosses over those facts by regaling so-called "Hispanic" political tastes elsewhere as a "monolithic" demonstration of the "Hispanic" vote….”
I truly wish our anti-immigration, well-meaning conservatives who have been almost brain-washed (for want of a better word) into believing what they are being told by hard-core anti-immigration racists (for want of a better word) would just stop and think for a minute. We are being handed an opportunity to undo what they did last year. PLEASE, act with reasoned, rationed behavior. If this isn’t possible, then just sit down and shut up until mid-November.
