A Day for Heroes

MONDAY, MARCH 31
It wasn’t until a few minutes ago that I noticed there is a theme for the day: Heroes. This evening I learned that Michael Monsoor will be the 5th post 9/11 Medal of Honor. Celebrating a Royal Marine L/Cpl Croucher – HERO! Have you read this story?
Jedi church founder attacked by DV! Did an asteroid destroy Sodom and Gomorrah? Gives whole new meaning to “wrath of God”. A beautiful ancient gold necklace has been discovered in Peru.

Blogging for Big Mac – An Idea Whose Time Has Come!

BIG MAC BLOGGERS
Today the WTimes featured a piece by Stephen Dinan about how the blog world bailed out the McCain campaign. I wasn’t there during those do or die days where everyone but a few people, including Brad Marston, were burying John McCain. I do know there was not a great a blog presence for McCain as the Times would have the world believe.
Captain Ed picked the story up at Hot Air. I find the revisionist history rather fascinating. Like Beth I only remember Blogs against McCain and a tremendous amount of hate spewed against him, much ... more »

Barack Obama, Planned Parenthood, John Tanton & Eugenics

KEEPING AMERICA WHITE
Last night on his show, Sean Hannity profiled several young women who discovered that Planned Parenthood doesn’t mind taking donations to promote abortions within the Black community. This started me thinking about John Tanton and his anti-Hispanic eugenic ties. Is there a connection? Is it possible that the ultra liberal Planned Parenthood is nothing but a tool for racial cleansing and “keeping America white?”
Maybe it is stretching a little, but when you consider the usual suspects and the agenda, it sure looks like all this is part of an agenda. And the agenda sure looks like ... more »

SUNDAY, MARCH 30
Employment Opportunities? I can’t believe I sat down and watched a good 7 innings of the season opener. The Prez looked good. The ESPN interview they did with him was far superior to the White House Press Corp. Joe Morgan did a great job, and asked some good questions. Then the Prez did just a little play-by-play, proving when he is unemployed a year from now he can always get a job doing baseball!
The Braves infield looks good. Even for opening day it was tight.

PSYCHOPATHS ARE VERY REAL
“…"Psychopaths
are social predators who charm, manipulate and ruthlessly plow their
way through life, leaving a broad trail of broken hearts, shattered
expectations without the slightest sense of guilt or regret. Their
bewildered victims desperately ask, 'Who are these people?'"We
often think of psychopaths as the disturbed criminals who capture
headlines and crowd the nation's prisons. But not all psychopaths are
killers. They are more likely to be men and women you know who move
through life with supreme self-confidence -- but without a
conscience….” Robert D. Hare, Ph. D. I’ve been reading a chilling ... more »

ATTACKING BIG MAC
I admit it. I am furious. I am so sick and tired of these people and the things they do about immigration reform I could say something really tacky. I’m not. I am furious at the way they take the word of a racist little twerp like Heath Schuler over John McCain over that deplorable SAVE Act. Somewhere it needs to stop. Right Pundits is resurrecting that debunked claim of DEMOCRAT Heath Shuler that John McCain blocked an yet another suicidal immigration bill.

Windstream Telecom Is Incompetent!
by
SJ Reidhead
on March 29, 2008 09:54PM (MDT)
SATURDAY, MARCH 29
I think the title says it all. I’ve discovered I AM NOT THE PROBLEM. My DSL goes off periodically requiring a complete re-start, just about every hour on the hour. It’s not my Ethernet cable. It isn’t my NEW Airport-Extreme. It’s NOT ME. The problem is with Windstream Telecom. I don’t know if it was part of that chain reaction that took down quite a bit of the East Coast yesterday or not. I do know how to locate the local supervisors for Windstream on Monday. If you don’t’ see a posting, just consider me under arrest. ... more »

There Is No Difference Between Jeremiah Wright & Patrick J. Buchanan

THEY ARE BOTH THE SAME
I’m really tired of people on the left damning anyone who criticizes Jeremiah Wright as a racist. I’m also sick and tired of those on the right defending their hard-line stance on immigration reform while criticizing the likes of Jeremiah Wright. They are both cut from the same cloth, just a different pattern.
Last evening I posted the trivia about the new McCain ad and Powers Boothe on the top Tombstone forum. It was well received, but on another forum the haters came out of the woodwork. I was afraid of this, and did my ... more »

THE MCCAIN BLOGETTE
Several weeks ago Sally Vee suggested I start reading Meghan McCain’s blog. It is a refreshing change of pace, revealing the innocence of a young woman who is also an admitted Daddy’s Spoiled Little Girl, and all that entails. (It takes one to know one, trust me). Her blog entries are happy. They are often funny, and are honest. We’re dealing with a young women who clearly adores her dad, and is only now realizing how important he actually is (to the rest of the world). You get an honest look at her Dad’s campaign ... more »

ISP PROBLEMS – AGAIN I would love to be able to nuke Windstream. I’ve been dealing with them since 5:15PM and it is now 9:08. Something is going on with my ISP and naturally it is me. I’m working a slow as molasses. It is now 10:14. Since writing the above I have had yet another call to Windstream. We’re talking about being on hold for 20 minutes, 18 minutes, and 45 minutes. THE TOMBSTONE IRONY CONTINUES!
John McCain was shot down over Vietnam on October 26, 1967 and taken prisoner. Anyone who has a mediocre working knowledge of the Wild West knows that the Gunfight at the OK Corral occurred on October 26, 1881. In the movie Tombstone, the roll of Curly Bill Brocius was played by Powers Boothe. Now Boothe is narrating the new John McCain ad.

THURSDAY, MARCH 27
Rumsfeld’s favorite human, Corinna had a little girl last week. She is the 1st grand-daughter and 1st girl in the family in 27 years. I think that tells you the state of Grandmother’s emotional stability and baby hogging. From what I hear Corinna gets to see her when she is nursing and that’s about it. Babies should go to families where they are drenched in love. This little one will be getting just that.

ATTACKING BIG MAC
Look, just color me cynical. I’m worried. Things are WAY too good for John McCain right now. If this were October, I would be a very happy person. Unfortunately this is March. What goes up must come down, unless…. Something like this occurs: Condi may be interested in the VP spot.

SANFORD NO GO FOR VP
I thought I would throw a little bit of Spanish in for all my anti-immigration readers. Brad Warthen interviewed Lindsey the other day. The Palmetto Scoop has the video. What fascinates me is the fact that Lindsey pinpoints the problem within the GOP, basically making it a victim of its own success. South Carolina is almost a one party state now – all GOP. The problem with that is the fact that we now deal with good Republicans v. bad Republicans. Lindsey discusses this in some detail.

It has been a long, windy day. I did Altar Guild this evening. I’m glad I did. Fr. Penn had a wonderful homely about Christ appearing to the Disciples a few days after His Resurrection. I think I may have learned something about faith this evening – we don’t have much, that’s for sure.

TRUTH OR FICTION?
Anti-immigration Nativists are holding a wake for the much heralded Border Fence in Cochise County. First, it would be nice if some of these Nativists would ACTUALLY VISIT Cochise County and spent a little time there talking to someone other than the inmates at the OK Café, or the few anti-immigration neo-fascists who actually reside in Cochise County. Case in point is the mourning for the Border Fence, that a Cochise County rancher has pronounced DOA. It is tragic. So sad. BREAKING NEWS: Mommy Cat Lost 4 Kittens!

SAD NEWS
Earlier today Raymond discovered the tiny bodies of 4 kittens. Evidently at least 2 of them were stillborn. The other 2 died not long after their birth. I thought we probably had 2kittens, but there were 4. At least one was born on my bedroom floor and the others in the closet - on the new white carpet. After several days of emotional distress, everyone seems to have finally settled down, exhausted.
Mommy Cat and Rumsfeld were still fighting early this morning, but now seem to have made peace with one another. She is finally sleeping, no longer ... more »

WEDNESDAY'S HERO
Soldiers' Angels Living Legends Team May No Soldier Go Unloved
Living Legends began in May 2005 with a very small team of seven dedicated angels.
The team's mission was to let the families and friends of fallen heroes know that we were here to support them and to honor their loved one.
At the same time, they had to make sure that they were sensitive to what the family was going through. While this team has grown tremendously, they have worked very hard to maintain that same level of dedication and sensitivity.

The Great Cat-ostrophy Continues
by

TUESDAY, MARCH 25
I am exhausted. Last night after posting, I realized that Mommy Cat has gone into heat. It was weird. The arguments with Rumsfeld continued. Her attentions to Miss Beverly Sills continued. I think it was around 1AM or so that I finally went down to my bedroom. My nice white carpet resembled the floor of a slaughter-house. Blood was everywhere! I did not look in the closet. Just the sight of the blood made me feel queasy.
Mommy Cat keeps looking inside the closet, then stepping out, obviously not nursing. There are no kitten sounds. What ... more »

ONE ON ONE – NOT BLOGGING
Today I won my 3rd vote for John McCain. I may have won more for him, but I can only account for those three, four if you count my mother. All three votes were hard fought and won, not through blogging, in fact none of the voters has even read The Pink Flamingo. Maybe I don’t count the third one, it was the son of a friend I converted. A Pink Flamingo Exclusive ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION IS NOT A REAL ISSUE
Yes, you read correctly. I’ve been doing a little snooping and discovered that immigration isn’t even much of an issue in Cochise County. In fact, I found people were probably less interested in it as a whole than they are in Lincoln County, where a few of my GOP colleagues are a little riled up about things. The answer I’m getting here from people I talk to is, “I don’t even think about it”. Evidently, aside from FOX News and a the anti-immigration groups, it is a total and ... more »

MONDAY, MARCH 24
I have no idea what is going on with Mommy Cat. Every time Rumsfeld goes near Beverly Sills, Mommy Cat attacks him, viciously. The poor little thing is whipped. We also don’t know what is going on with the baby situation. She has slimmed down considerably since this morning. About 9PM she came up for water and to nibble. That would indicate she has finished having what ever it is she had. She, Little Joe Cartwright and Miss Beverly Sills keep running up and down the steps like that baby scene in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers... more »

IGNORING THE THEOLOGICAL PROBLEMS
Michael Goodwin has a Daily News column:
“…As well they should. You can't be a President if you won't stand up to an anti-American bigot. More to the point, you can't become President by running against the country or having people around you who hate it….If there is such a thing as a "typical white person," is there also a "typical black person"? And is Jeremiah Wright typical? What would grandma say to that? As for McCain, he was off in Europe and the Mideast, meeting heads of state and dealing with global issues. As contrasts ... more »

THE PERFECT VP CHOICE THEME: The Great VP Easter Egg Hunt
(humorous)
I think we all want someone exciting, a sensational pick for John McCain. We need a heroic figure who can hold his/her own with the commanding figure of Big Mac. We need someone younger to counter Barack Obama’s youth. We need a person with vision, military experience, and command experience. He is a military academy graduate. He is a certified hero, having saved the day, many times over. We need someone who has experience as a leader and a chief executive. We also need someone who has multi-cultural ... more »

SUNDAY, MARCH 23
Let’s put it this way – here in Ruidoso we are just as likely to have a White Easter than a White Christmas. It spat snow all morning but nothing happened.
I must tell a story on my friend Alicia’s 8 year old daughter, Sydney. (She’s having her tonsils out on Wed). Sydney is learning how to sew and seems to be adapting well to it. She “made” her Easter Dress (one of these cute sun-dress fabrics were all you do is sew it up and then add the little straps. After successfully navigating the Easter Dress, ... more »

When Will the Dems Throw Obama from the Train?

IT IS NOT RACISM, STUPID (it’s the corruption)
These crocodile tears about racism are becoming more and more asinine by the day. Good, decent liberals are decrying the anti-Obama rhetoric and criticism as racism. It isn’t. It is, however a perfect picture of The Two Americas: Democrat v. Republican. If Barack Obama were a Republican he would be out of politics by now, cowering in utter disgrace, waiting for the dust to clear so he could cash in on a multi-million dollar book deal. The problem, though, is he is a Democrat, therefore above criticism and completely immune to anything ... more »
