CHRIST’S TEACHING IN ACTION
Matthew 25
35for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.” 37Then the righteous will answer him, “Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? 38And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? 39And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?” 40And the king will answer them, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” 41Then he will say to those at his left hand, “You that are accursed, depart from me into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels; 42for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not give me clothing, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.” 44Then they also will answer, “Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not take care of you?” 45Then he will answer them, “Truly I tell you, just as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.” 46And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.’
The Opinionated Catholic has an old Catholic Prayer for the United States. It is quite beautiful. And most appropriate right now. Sally Vee sent this to me. I’m glad someone appreciates GWB! This great man has been so badly treated by this country and especially by some conservatives who have betrayed him the way they betrayed Reagan. There is a photo of him at one of the companies processing the mosquito netting to prevent malaria. I could use a new one over my guest room bed. Miss Beverly Sills played Tarzan the other night and took it out. I probably also could have used one in Cancun awhile back where I did end up with malaria!
The slide show left me in tears. We are going to miss this great man so very much. This last year is starting to remind me of the farewell tours of Leontyne Price or Beverly Sills. What is so remarkable is how little coverage this story is getting here in the press. The liberal blogs are naturally blaming him for everything from global warming to the possibility that the sun will explode millions of years from now. Have you seen the photos from his trip? They will bring you to tears.

Big 'D' and supposedly small 'd' "Democrat" Obama comes and aligns himself with the thuggish dictatorial African politics of the past….”
THE BEATITUDES
(Matthew 5)
‘Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
‘Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
‘Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
‘Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
‘Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.
‘Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
‘Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
‘Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
‘Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Salt and Light
‘You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown out and trampled under foot.
‘You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

THE EMBODIMENT OF A CHRISTIAN LEADER
I am so proud of this man. He is truly the embodiment of everything Christ wanted a Christian leader to be – compassionate, loving, and willing to step out on a limb to do what is right, decent, and honorable. And – conservatives have basically betrayed him for it. So far I’ve found 3 “conservative” blogs that have mentioned the trip in a positive manner. The liberals are all over him, but then the only thing GWB could ever do right for them would be to jump into one of those erupting Hawaiian volcanoes and sacrifice himself to the god, Pele. Other than that, he’s doomed to eternal damnation (not profanity) because he’s George W. Bush.
The problems is I don’t think even our “Christian” conservatives want a leader who has truly practiced what he believes. When he is no longer in power, we are going to be much the worst for it. I think only then will the country realize we have been blessed with one of the greatest leaders in our history, and he was treated like dirt.
May God truly bless this great man, and have mercy on us.
