THANK YOU W!
"Everywhere that freedom stirs, let tyrants fear."

Today I approach this election with a heavy heart.  The moment the voting begins, it signals the beginning of the end of the term of one of the greatest Presidents we've ever had.  George W. Bush has governed with honor.  He has shown us all how to persevere in the face of unwarranted and outlandish criticism and abject hatred.  Any honest person knows the only reason his approval ratings are so low is because of the reprehensible way the media has treated him.  No one deserves such vile treatment.

"Leadership to me means duty, honor, country. It means character, and it means listening from time to time. "

I've never seen anyone treated so badly and stand strong and tall, wit
h his head held tall.  He is a true Texan.  I think that is one of the problems.  People who aren't familiar with their 'ilk' don't know how to deal with them.  What you see is what you get.  There is no pretense.  There is no prevarication. They are who they are and have enough self assurance not to care what other people think.

"I believe the most solemn duty of the American president is to protect the American people. If America shows uncertainty and weakness in this decade, the world will drift toward tragedy. This will not happen on my watch."

That's George W. Bush.  He's a man of the Wild West, brave, courageous, and bold.  He's a poker player.  It doesn't matter what people think of him, he's going to do what he thinks is right.

"America stands for liberty, for the pursuit of happiness and for the unalienable right for life. This right to life cannot be granted or denied by government because it does not come from government, it comes from the creator of life."

And - doing what he thinks is right is what has managed to keep him in such hot water with so many segments of society.  Sometimes I wonder if the American people know how to deal with honorable and decent men.  I'm coming to think the only men who are able to truly get ahead and maintain the roar of the crowd are the flawed, pitiful, pathetic little creatures who are more interested in self and position than they are right and wrong.   It's about honor.  It is about country.  It all about freedom and patriotism.  It is all about America.

"I am a person who looks long-term, and I recognize the path we need to take. There will be moments when people are unhappy and disgruntled with some decision-making. Nonetheless, what matters most is to reach the destination. And my job as President is to see clearly where I want to go and be steadfast in my resolve to realize that vision."

I fear we are seeing the last of a breed of men of honor such as George W. Bush and John McCain. They are antiques, throwbacks to a kinder, gentler era when men were men.

"When you turn your heart and your life over to Christ, when you accept Christ as the savior, it changes your heart."

Barack Obama has repeatedly tried to tie John McCain in with George W. Bush.  The truth of the matter is if George W. Bush were running John McCain's campaign, Barack Obama would be a shattered, shredded, slobbering mass of humanity, begging for mercy.   George W. Bush is our modern era's version of Wyatt Earp.  He has done what he has done because no one else had the courage or fortitude to do it.

"The desire for freedom resides in every human heart. And that desire cannot be contained forever by prison walls, or martial laws, or secret police. Over time, and across the Earth, freedom will find a way."

Men like George W. Bush and Wyatt Earp are rare.  They are the people we go running to when the world is crumbling around us, and no one else has the courage to stand up for right.  It takes a
special kind of courage to stand like a man, and look danger squarely in the eye and not blink.

I learned a lot from my late friend Tim Rich.  One of the early Navy Seals, Tim taught me that there are certain men who take it upon themselves to stand up against evil and battle to the very end against it.  Tim, being a true Texan, was an admirer of
President Bush, who, he said, had the kind of courage that did not take into account personal danger or the damage that might be done to one's own reputation.  All he knew how to do was fight for freedom and stand up against our enemies.

"Americans are a free people, who know that freedom is the right of every person and the future of every nation. The liberty we prize is not America's gift to the world; it is God's gift to humanity."

If things go the way the polls an the MSM claims they will, this great man of honor, one of our great leaders will be succeeded by a cheap, narcissistic, Chicago hood who is little more than the con-artist version of Al Capone.  Where George W. Bush has been a man of honor, has served with decency and morality, his anointed successor is a patheticly petty despot who has no grasp of what America is.  George W. Bush knows the heart and soul of America.

"America will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of our people.
The wisest use of American strength is to advance freedom."

He has given 8 years of his life, keeping us safe from attack and from the horrors our enemies, some of whom are friends with Barack Obama, would inflict on us.  He has put up with lies.  He has been cursed.  He has been villianized.  He has been treated worse than any other leader I've ever seen
- and he has deserved none of it.  The only reason he has been treated so badly - that all Republicans including John McCain and Sarah Palin have been treated so obscenely is because he had the audacity to challenge Al Gore and defeat him.  According to our liberal "enemies" George W. Bush has been living a lie, a stolen Presidency.

"This way of life is worth defending."

And so we are on the verge of going from a Wyatt Earp who is willing to face down the enemy to an inferior example of humanity who is more at home cow-towing before them, selling our hearts and souls and turning us into a Third World Nation.

The only positive aspect of a pending Barack Obama Presidency is the fact that within a very few short months, his abject failure as a leader will make people realize what a truly great man George W. Bush is, and how fortunate we were to have him as our leader.

His honor, courage, decency, and leadership will be missed - sorely missed.  During my lifetime, I know this nation will never have another leader as great. He will always have my prayers, appreciation, and my desire to wish him well.

Now, Mr. President, we all know on January 21 you will be unemployed.  Why not take a week or so for a much needed fishing break.  Then, you need to get back to work.  Spring Training will be upon us.  Baseball needs another Kennisaw Mountain Landis.  I think you fit that mold, perfectly.
