The Pink Flamingo :: All Obama's Little Rationing Buddies

As this nation tumbles, rear first, into the Age of Obama, which is like an age of the darkness of the dumbing down of the American people and the rationing of basic items here in the US that really don't need to be rationed. If we are allowed to have light-bulbs with which to read, they must be eco-correct. BUT, when they cut the power-grid to save the enviroment, we must all huddle togther to keep from freezing to death or walk around stinking in the hot weather because we have neither air-conditioning or hot water for showering.

Barack Obama is a Marxist. The only way he can implement his communist manifesto is to start trashing our way of life. He's already done it with the economy, telling everyone they need to stay home and not spend any money. That's darn unAmerican! When people stay home and not spend money the American economy can grind to a halt.

It has already begun in Pennsylvania, where the Obama lovin' governor is going to cut electrical uage in the state in the next couple of years. On the hottest days of the year, a person will be required to turn off their air-conditioning and the hot water heater. Guess the same will hold true in the winter with the heat.

"...Legislation that Gov. Ed Rendell signed Wednesday requires the utilities to cut annual electricity usage by at least 1 percent by May 31, 2011, based on usage estimates made by state regulators, who can take into account a major anomaly, such as an unusually hot summer or a substantial surge in demand from a new user, such as a factory.

To ensure that utilities take the task seriously, the new law allows up to $20 million in penalties for failure to meet the benchmarks for electricity usage cuts...."

The One is going to classify Carbon Dioxide as a dangerous pollutant. Evidently His Marxist freak-ness doesn't seem to comprehend that all forms of green plants need CO2 to survive.

"...If elected, Obama would be the first president to group emissions blamed for global warming into a category of pollutants that includes lead and carbon monoxide. Obama's rival in the presidential race, Republican Senator John McCain of Arizona, has not said how he would treat CO2 under the act.

Obama ``would initiate those rulemakings,'' Grumet said in an Oct. 6 interview in Boston. ``He's not going to insert political judgments to interrupt the recommendations of the scientific efforts.''

Placing heat-trapping pollutants in the same category as ozone may lead to caps on power-plant emissions and force utilities to use the most expensive systems to curb pollution. The move may halt construction plans on as many as half of the 130 proposed new U.S. coal plants.

The president may take action on new rules immediately upon taking office, said David Bookbinder, chief climate counsel for the Sierra Club. Environment groups including the Sierra Club and Natural Resources Defense Council will issue a regulatory agenda for the next president that calls for limits on CO2 from industry...."

Atlas Shrugs is to blame for this ranting and raving. A few highlights of the post include:

...• Green Corps: Barack Obama would spend $390 million over five years to fund "an energy-focused Green Jobs Corps to engage disconnected and disadvantaged youth . . . to improve the energy efficiency of homes and buildings in their communities, while also providing them with practical skills and experience in important career fields of expected high-growth employment."

It's a quasi-paramilitary organization dedicated to environmentalism that promises inductees that they would be getting practical employment training for future "green jobs."....

What about those carbon off-sets? Will Obama give us a chance to discuss it, or will he simply propose blanket changes that will destroy our economy? From the Wall Street Journal:

"...Jason Grumet is currently executive director of an outfit called the National Commission on Energy Policy and one of Mr. Obama's key policy aides. In an interview last week with Bloomberg, Mr. Grumet said that come January the Environmental Protection Agency "would initiate those rulemakings" that classify carbon as a dangerous pollutant under current clean air laws. That move would impose new regulation and taxes across the entire economy, something that is usually the purview of Congress. Mr. Grumet warned that "in the absence of Congressional action" 18 months after Mr. Obama's inauguration, the EPA would move ahead with its own unilateral carbon crackdown anyway...."

NOTE: I've been sitting on this piece for several weeks, knowing more information would come out before the election. The One has finally shown his hand, in a big way. He basically wants to bankrupt the entire coal industry and do unto the US what every Marxist has done to every previously prosperous country they've molested. The other day I told my niece, who is planning to vote for The One. It seems like way back in January The One told the SF Chronicle that he would bankrupt the coal industry. From Newsbusters:

What I've said is that we would put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else's out there.

I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted...."

Flopping Aces has information about what will happen to energy prices. From what I can tell Obama wants to basically destroy our economy. Maybe he doesn't actually want to, but is so abjectly incompetent that's what is coming out of his mouth.
No Quarter has additional information about the idiocy The One is planning.

He wants to destroy our way of life. Is this is Marxist elitism or his abject stupidity. He wants to cap greenhouse gasses. In other words his is planning to ration power in a power-rich nation. He is going to force those of us who can afford it to pay more for electricity. It's like this Barry - you ration my air-conditioning and IT'S WAR! He wants to raise the price of electricity. Mine is astronomical now, and I keep my thermostat on 55 in the winter and 70 in the summer. I don't have a washer or dryer. I limit the use of hot water. I turn lights off. Unless I go back to candles and stone knives and bearskins I don't know what more I can do to save on power. I guess Obama will show me the way.

Will someone PLEASE tell the RNC and McCain to get this out on the air in those coal states, fast? This could make the difference. And - there is still time.
