GOOD DEEDS SHOULD BE REWARDED
Thanks to errors that led us exactly where we were “supposed” to be Sunday afternoon at 2PM. The Outback Steakhouse in Sierra Vista, Arizona was hosting to a fund-raiser for the Loretto School in Douglas, Arizona.
Imagine a top restaurant chain donating, time, money, personnel, and tips to assisting a Catholic school raise money!
Not only that, but they were not ashamed to promote the assistance with a Catholic – a CHRISTIAN – organization.
Michael Cieszinski, the owner is a young family man from Minneapolis. From what I was told by one of his regular patrons, he frequently opens his establishment up for local charitable and civic organizations to host fund-raisers. The good sisters from the Loretto School raised a good $6000 toward repairing the plumbing in one of the boy’s restrooms at the school. The repairs are to begin immediately!
I met Sister Mary Joseph and Sister Mary Aloysius. These two women are dedicated to their students and to their school, which is in such disrepair. You can call 520-364-5754 for more information if you would like to make a donation.
Sister Mary Aloysius thinks it is all about “hope” – one must have hope in today’s world. Strangely enough, that is a word I encountered this weekend, several times. I know a dedicated priest who needs hope. I have a friend, Sylvia, who is having so many problems with her tourism based business, and has lost all hope. My hope was rekindled this weekend.
