COINCIDENCE?
(or) REPUBLICAN STUPIDITY?
I'm not that much of a fan of Pursuing Holiness, but in a way I can see where she's going with this. Why isn't the GOP fighting? I completely agree with Laura on this one:(or) REPUBLICAN STUPIDITY?
Isn't it amazing how the whole "Wall Street Meltdown" occurred so close to the election? A few weeks ago Barack Obama was being pounded on energy and oil production. Now, though, no one is even talking about it, even though gas prices are one of the things propelling the economic slow-down, not that you hear anyone talking about it. It's the economy, stupid and all about Barack Obama. The MSM is helping the Dems pound the GOP to the point where the Dems, terribly behind in the fundraising and Obama sure isn't helping 'em, are now crowing that they are going to take out the GOP?
"...Republicans are trying to defend at least 18 House seats in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida, economic trouble spots that double as election battlegrounds. Rising unemployment, the meltdown in the housing market, and a credit crunch besieging consumers and manufacturers alike were factors in Sen. John McCain's decision Thursday to pull campaign resources out of Michigan. The McCain campaign's exit from the state leaves a pair of vulnerable Republicans, Reps. Tim Walberg and Joe Knollenberg, with a weakened party infrastructure heading into Nov. 4. Attempting to sound optimistic, Knollenberg, who opposed the bailout bill on Monday but supported a revised version yesterday, said simply, "I am going to fight harder."..."
A few weeks ago the GOP was on the brink of retaking a few lost House seats and defending their Senate seats. What a difference a month can make. Is this about the economy, Barack Obama, or Republican stupidity - or a little of each? I don't know about you, but I can't help thinking the Republican Party is made up of a bunch of fumbling and bumbling idiots who are charter members of the gang that can't shoot straight.
Why isn't the GOP running saturation ads (like saturation bombing with nukes) all over the country about Fannie, Freddie, Barney Mac and Barack's little friends? See Sundries Shack for more information. Why isn't the GOP running saturation ads about ACORN, etc? Counting on the MSM to do this is quite foolish. I've been working on this post for about 5 days. I really don't think all that much is changed. We're being outspent in ads by Obama. The RNC has the money. The McCain Campaign has some money, but not the unlimited ATM machine that Obama has, which appears to originate from heaven itself.
Is anyone going to go after ACORN enough to imprint on the American psyche that Barack Obama is literally STEALING the election? Where are the ads about that one? For a great rundown on the fraud, try Hyscience. Why is there no investigation into the connection between Obama and ACORN?
Let's face it, this is basically a "bloodless" coup against the United States of America. Anyone who votes for Barack Obama is part of the problem. Anyone who stands in his way is going to have a problem, a big one. We are throwing away our freedom for hype and feeling "touched". We're going to be touched allright.

"...The bailout bill has passed - whether that is a good thing or a bad one I couldn’t say. I believe this whole “crisis” is manufactured; as I wrote last week, this is the Democrat’s October surprise. I don’t mean that the economy wasn’t shaky, and suffering from serious problems. We’re up to our necks in debt, on both the consumer and national levels. The Fannie/Freddie problems were real - as John McCain and President Bush have been pointing out for some time. But these are conditions, not a crisis. Can anyone point out the actual cause of this “crisis” - what triggered Paulsen to suddenly go public with this huge, expensive emergency? So far, no one has identified the tipping point where these conditions suddenly became the most urgent matter in the nation. McCain knows the truth about our nation’s financial condition, and he knows how we got here. But he refuses to tell that truth, and instead has boarded the populist bandwagon...."
Even liberal Alec Baldwin understands that the Democrats are the ones responsible for the Fannie/Freddie crises. If he can understand it...? Even the Canadians understand how vile ACORN is. The whole thing is the fact that Barack Obama is getting "high marks" for his handling of the crises. The real problem, according to the usual idiotic liberal sources, is that GWB created the crises to enrich himself and his buddies. It does, though, become more and more obvious much of the "hype" was designed to take out John McCain. Sister Todjah has a commentary on the Obama stance on the McCain mortgage proposal. What I don't understand is Barack Obama is neck deep in the whole Fannie/Freddie blow-out but the American people are so stupid that they've probably forgotten about it by now. John McCain, I'm afraid, has piddled away a chance to slam Obama on the issue. Obama has accused the GOP of trying to distract voters from the depressing economy.
"..."Sen. McCain and his operatives are gambling that they can distract you with smears rather than talk to you about substance," Obama said. "They'd rather try to tear our campaign down than lift this country up. That's what you do when you're out of touch, out of ideas and running out of time."..."
I've been traveling a little this past week. I'm sorry, but contrary to the tears Bill O'Reilly is shedding about "the folks" hurting, I've not seen anyone sitting around begging. There was this one guy in Boulder but he needed parts for his broken spaceship. Things are not easy, but that has more to do with the outrageous price of gas/oil than the "depression" that is depressing Bill O'Reilly. Most people I've asked seem to think the real cause of much of our problem is the high price of gas and the inflation that goes along with it. Then again, Wednesday evening, O'Reilly basically admitted he's not voting for John McCain. Surprise! Surprise!Roger Simon has hit on the real problem here. The press is hiding Barack Obama's lies. The only way to maintain a free country is to have a free press. The press is fawning over Barack Obama to the point where, they, the bastion of freedom, are duplicitious in the destruction of our freedom. In this commentary Simon drops the "A Bomb". There have been rumors for several weeks that Bill Ayers was Barack Obama's ghostwriter. I guess Simon has officially "Outed" Ayers. Nah, no one will pay attention. It doesn't matter. The press worships Obama, who is a liar. He is duplicitious to the point where I would not put it past him to have worked with his willing minions to help create this sense of economic crises that is hammering John McCain.
As an unrepentent, but closet socialist, all of this is working in Obama's favor. Something else he is doing is cementing his hold on the Democratic establishment by completely destroying the friendships the Clintons have had with a number of people. Strange, but after the primaries, only a few highly placed Democrats have had the courage to stand up against Barack Obama.
We are rapidly approaching days where courage is going to be needed. If the worst happens and Barack Obama wins, will you have the courage to fight along side me? It will be a fight for our freedom. I'm not going to back down, will you?
According to John Fund, in today's Opinion Journal's Political Diary, Obama is destroying the GOP with all that campaign loot.
"...As the election heads into its home stretch, Barack Obama is deploying the financial muscle he gained from opting out of the general election public financing system that John McCain is locked into.
In key swing states, Mr. Obama is flooding the airwaves with commercials. Last week alone, he spent $17.4 million on ads in those states versus only $10.9 million for the combined efforts of Mr. McCain and the Republican Party. In Wisconsin, local political observers report they see fewer McCain ads than ever while ads urging people to "vote early for Obama" are ubiquitous.
In Florida, a state that used to favor Mr. McCain in polls, Team Obama spent $2.2 million in ads last week, while Mr. McCain made do with an ad buy of less than $700,000. In Ohio, Mr. Obama spent $2.2 million to Mr. McCain's $1.7 million.
Ad money isn't everything in politics, but this is the first presidential election in recent memory where Democrats have a significant financial edge over Republicans. Other than the debates, ads are the biggest single source of information that many voters receive about the candidates. The Obama edge could prove crucial in several states -- which is precisely why he ditched the public financing system he once so fervently supported....'

"..."Will the 2008 election be polling's 'perfect storm'? Pollsters rarely say it in so many words, but when they compare notes these days, worry is the prevailing theme. Three big challenges loom that threaten to throw off survey estimates for the matchup between John McCain and Barack Obama. George Stephanopoulos, the host of ABC News' Sunday morning show 'This Week,' summed up pollsters' concerns with a list of 'three different undercounts' that he attributed to Democratic pollster Peter D. Hart. This year's polls, he said, 'may be undercounting the number of young people who are going to vote,' they "may be undercounting the African-American turnout" and they 'may not be capturing those white voters who just won't vote for Barack Obama because he's black'" -- Mark Blumenthal, National Journal's "mystery pollster."..."
In other words, if the GOP does not get out there in fight, we're doomed. On the other hand, with Barack Obama as POTUS, like Lindsey says, we're going to be hit with one massive depression. This should eventually help the GOP the way Hoover destroyed it in 1929. The very real problem with that one is by that time, the US will no longer be a free country and Obama will be installed as the next Fidel Castro. In Cuba, many people were able to flee to the US. The problem - there's no where left for us to go as refugees unless we reverse migrate back to our countries of origin, but then half of them are now socialist.
