Today's Pink Flamingo postings are a little slow. As you can see I did the tourist thing today in and around Manitou Springs. The aspen are golden. I guess maybe I was celebrating some of our last days of freedom. When Barack Obama becomes POTUS, and he begins to ration gas, we won't be able to travel. I don't even know if he will allow us to travel from state to state. He will ration health care, which is terrifying to senior citizens like my mother who cannot survive without medical assistance. Isn't it amazing how the whole "Wall Street Meltdown" occurred so close to the election? A few weeks ago Barack Obama was being pounded on energy and oil production. Now, though, no one is even talking about it, even though gas prices are one of the things propelling the economic slow-down, not that you hear anyone talking about it. It's the economy, stupid and all about Barack Obama. Did you know Jackie Kennedy did a commercial in Spanish thanking Hispanic speaking Americans for voting for her husband. That's 1960 for all those terrified that the world will come to an end because John McCain is doing ads en Espanol.

In case you are living on Venus, Newsweek is attempting to slam Sarah Palin by showing a very high def closeup. Women are of mixed opinion on the subject. Outside the Beltway has an interesting take on it. As a woman, if my skin looked as good as hers, bring it on!"...Critics note that it’s pretty standard to touch up photographs, especially close-ups, to be more flattering and that Newsweek photos of Barack Obama are much nicer, with one even putting a halo on this one.
