WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8

Laura Bush has instructed the White House be turned into the "Pink" House during October.  Unfortunately it is just for the evening, with pink lighting, but it sure looks good.  I can't wait for Sarah Palin to get there.

I'm stuck in a hotel with sorry television, and it is Wednesday night.  Only thing to do is watch a movie.  We're just reaching the point where the grizzled (but still incredibly sexy archaeologist) picks up his Fedora at the beginning of the movie. And people wonder why I'm such an archaeology buff.

Today is the feast day of St. Thais.  If you are familiar with the opera, made famous by my very favorite soprano, Beverly Sills.  Sherrill Milnes was in the production at the Met, also.  The violin meditation is one of my favorite pieces.
