St. Francis Day - As Joe Torre Defeats the Cubbies

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4

We finally made it to Denver. The aspen in the high mountains is absolutely gold. Today was so overcast it wasn't worth even bothering with a photograph. With luck I may get up to Estes Park tomorrow.

Once again I am suffering from hotel internet service problems - for some reason the ISP where I am staying thinks I am doing something a little untoward with my uploading onto the blog. It is timing me out at 56K periodically.

Is Sarah Palin Just a Trained Monkey?

It's too bad Bill O'Reilly doesn't have the integrity of a Michael Medved. Today on Medved's radio show, he hammered Joe Biden on the LIES Biden told during the debate. O'Reilly who claims to be fair and balanced spoke about Sarah Palin like she was little more than a trained flying monkey. Granted she wears Fonkie Monkey shoes, but that is no indication she's the semian in question.

Michelle Obama Must Be a Cheap Date

45 BUCKS FOR FLOWERS?

Several months ago we were treated to the tale that the Obamas did not give their daughters birthday or Christmas presents. Well, that must also apply to anniversary gifts. Barack Obama evidently spent something like $45 for flowers the florist undercharging him $5.00 for baby's breath. The Chicago Sun Times has a photo of the bouquet.

My gosh these are cheap selfish people. Here the man is, running for POTUS. He comes from Hawaii. Couldn't he have the decency to order some exotic flowers? You can get a great bunch for $75. I know, I ... more »
