Movies, Bigfoot Tracks, Great Plagues

MONDAY, OCTOBER 13

It was chilly last night. I'm glad the plants are indoors, even if the cats have already made a disaster of them. Tomorrow I go with the parents to Alamo for eye exams. I need to get to the bottom of my mother's dry macular degeneration. The other day I discovered how to download movies into my Ipod. I know, I'm behind the curve, but at least I'm learning. So far I have The Philadelphia Story, Tombstone, Wyatt Earp, Six Days Seven Nights, and Much Ado About Nothing. Tomorrow they will be joined ... more »

John McCain had a cute little comment in his Monday stump speech about the Obama's measuring for their new White House drapes. The poll numbers are starting to be all over the place, but they are all showing The One in the lead. Two weeks ago I was depressed. Maybe I've accepted the inevitable. As a student of history, I love to mangle that infamous phrase - the fool who doesn't know history is doomed to repeat it. It is rather obvious Barack Obama doesn't know history the American people, and American in general. The reason The Great Depression was made so much worse was because idiots like Barack Obama (and then they were Republicans) felt they could tax their way out of a bad economy.
