RELIGIOUS IN THEIR DEVOTION
Wordsmith at Flopping Aces continues his excellent assault on Ron Paul. I’ve then added some recent dribble by the Ron Paul faithful.
A MINI RANT
There are some Ron Paul followers who are now taking their support of Ron Paul to an almost religious level. When this happens duck and run for cover. Not only is there something very unsettling about their blind devotion this little two bit twit from Texas, but they are going into it blindly.
I don't like blind devotion to anyone, cause, party, or issue. The devotion and worship of Ron Paul has reached the point where his supporters are no longer using logic and reason, but something else. They have grouped together. They are exploiting the web. They are exploiting and manipulating straw polls, county GOP organizations, and anything they can exploit to get him elected. It is becoming more and more obvious that the rules need not apply where Ron Paul is concerned. The ends appear to justify any means - honest or dis. For months I have been saying we should be concerned about Paul, his followers, and their blind devotion to him. I think not to do so is foolish.
Is Ron Paul the reincarnation of the Apostle Paul? To read this piece by Betty Freauf (one time Republican, now member of the Constitution Party) you would believe he is a cross between God, St. Paul, George Washington, and Martin Luther. When third party whacks starting mentioning the word “sacrifice” it gets a little scary.
40,000 AMERICAN TROOPS HAVE GONE AWOL?
“…I didn’t watch the debate figuring it would be the same old political rhetoric but I did notice in the newspaper the following morning that Ron Paul still refuses to support the undeclared Iraqi war and apparently had a heated debate with Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee who showed his ignorance of the Constitution by his support of the war. Ron Paul wants to bring our troops from around the world home to protect Americans and to reestablish a foreign policy based on noninterventionism and not a North American Empire.
Will it be proven that sacrificing 5,000 Americans in Afghanistan and in Iraq plus other civilians killed that eventually Iraq will achieve that illusive democracy? I hope they did not die in vain but the Middle East has always been a powder keg and will continue to be so until the return of our Lord to stop the nonsense. At that time, every knee shall bow. [Read] Someone must have turned on the lights in Washington, D.C. because I’ve noticed the cockroaches are heading for press conferences blowing the whistle on President Bush and his illegal war but you won’t hear about it on FOX. This all seems to be happening since Ron Paul has stood tall without compromising. A KGO radio talk show host in San Francisco has stated that something like 40,000+ military have deserted and a caller to his show said suicides are up 25%....”

THE FREEDOM INDEX
These people are strange. They have what it called “The Freedom Index” which in itself is rather strange. I’m trying to figure out how stem cell research and funding is part of the Constitution. but then, I’m not as bright as Ron Paul people. Oh, of course Ron Paul has a 100% “Constitutionally Pure” score. From what I can tell the Freedom Index is a conspiracy buff’s fantasy come alive.
THE ONLY “CHRISTIAN” CHOICE
“Pastor” Chuck Baldwin says that
“…Face it: the big money interests, the Chamber of Commerce crowd, the international bankers and GOP hierarchy will never support Dr. Paul. He is too honest, too ethical, too constitutional, and too independent for their liking. Therefore, the only chance Ron Paul has of winning the Republican nomination is for every Christian, every conservative, and every constitutionalist within the GOP to get behind him….”
“…On the whole, Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo are head and shoulders above the aforementioned "top tier" candidates, especially on the very important illegal immigration issue. They are also opposed to so-called "free trade" agreements, and they are both pro-Second Amendment. This is a plus. Hunter supports preemptive war, however, and he voted for both the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act, which disqualifies him for President, in my judgment. I confess to liking Tom Tancredo. He strikes me as an honest man and was a bulldog in fighting Bush's amnesty for illegal aliens proposal. However, he also voted for the Patriot Act and Military Commissions Act. Mike Huckabee and Sam Brownback are strong on the life issue, but they are dismal on immigration and Big Brother issues. All that said, it is Ron Paul alone who contains the "whole package."…”
