I want to know where all the Border Patrol agents are in Cochise County. Trust me, their numbers are way down. Why? And don’t tell me those dimwit minutemen are picking up the slack.
Once again Doc is being way, way too much help. Way - way too much help. Trust me.
In the make my whole day department, dimwit Sheehan is thinking about running against Pelosi. Please, please pretty please. I hate to be stuck standing up for Pelosi, but this dimwit (Sheehan, not Pelosi) is a little out of control and is reading way to many of her own PR releases.
Attendees at anti-Sutton rally call for ‘cartridge box’.
Like the newly redesigned Wizbang (lookin’ good) says, the NYTimes is choosing Genocide.
Michael Zak has a new book – Back to Basics for the Republican Party. Along this line, AJ Strata has yet another wonderful posting about GOP fatigue, the media, the alleged plot to impeach GWB, and our bratty conservatives.
MY RANT FOR THE DAY
First, I am sick and tired of the term “RINO”. It is rude, insulting, and belittles the user. Strata links to a Mac’sMind post about purifying the party. I think the term “RINO” is one of the problems with conservatives. By having an epitaph, an insult to hurl at someone who isn’t perfect, it is a way for ideological conservatives who have no tolerance for anyone who disagrees with them, to marginalize other Republicans. This is where I blame “conservative talk radio” including Limbaugh, Savage, Ingraham, Gallagher, Levine, and their ilk. I think Laura Ingraham may be the worst and most annoying offender, but Rush needs to shoulder his portion of the blame, also.
I wish Republicans had their own fairness doctrine. Too bad we can’t have equal time with out-of-control conservatives who are only concerned with WHAT THEY WANT and have no thought, no consideration, no worry for anyone who is not 100% in lock-step with them. I wish regular, NORMAL Republicans like moi had a way to say what we think – a way to distance ourselves from the increasingly irrational blather from the far right.
Fortunately, as they become more and more irrational, childish, and extreme, they are rapidly marginalizing themselves in the eyes of the nation. The problem is while we are being forced to put up with this childish, irrational temper-tantrum, they are doing serious damage to the nation, our security, and a very good man named George W. Bush. But – because they have become so insanely and so increasing self-absorbed I don’t think the usual bucket of cold water over the head is going to shock them into rational behavior.
I don’t know how to shock these people back into sensible and intelligent, logical behavior. Maybe they have been so brainwashed by our egotistical celeb and radio pundits that the only way they now know how to think for themselves is to have someone else do it.
Then – they appeal to certain elected officials who have no actual loyalty to the GOP, but instead are loyal to an ideology. They are also willing to stab anyone, including President Bush, in the back because the ideological conservatives who are calling the shots really don’t want a Republican President having more power than do they. They did this to Ronald Reagan, they are doing it to George W. Bush.
I posted this over at Mac’sMind in response to his post.
“I have a serious problem with the term "RINO". It is a rude tag created to insult Republicans who are not pure in ideological thought. The problem is we live in a free country and the GOP has always embraced that freedom. Just the term "RINO" is a slap in the face to all Republicans who have spent time and money building a great political party that respects everyone. The problem with today's conservative is, as AJ Strata Says, they have run out of ideas, ideals, and have embraced dogma that is questionable at best. When good people start discussing a purge of those who have a believe system that isn't 100% pure, I cringe. I think my father was involved in fighting a war half a century ago against individuals who demanded 100% racial purity. When that 100% pure solution is invoked I shudder.
This isn't Republican. It may be conservative, but it isn't the Conservative of Ronald Reagan who once said, "Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican."’

It sounds to me a little like Hitler trying to purify the German people by eliminating the undesirables.
“…Conservatives lost their conservatism. We lost our way, mostly because our beliefs and core values were forsaken. We turned “liberal” in our spending, corruption, and especially on our core issues of small Government. As conservatives we have always won based on the fact that our system of governing works. Liberalism doesn’t work and never has. Because of that people vote for us not because we pander to them but because they believe in our principles of government.
Here is something that should be said. When it comes to principles, hard issues such as the war, immigration or whatever call for standing your ground even though others may see things differently. Yet it also means not compromising with those who say that they are one thing yet act as another.
RINOS as I’ve noted can count their days in the GOP, we are going to actively challenge them in upcoming elections with pure conservatives - not liberals in disguise. We don’t have to compromise our values and beliefs simply for the sake of “agreement”. Again, it’s high time to sweep the party, such as we did in 1980 and now is as good a time as any….”

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING
Interesting development as “Christian Exodus” leader nixes plans to move to SC this year.
And, have you heard the one where SC Dems slaughtered African Americans in Hamburg, SC? I know of an Oconee County story that is just as bad, maybe more because it has been covered up for so many years.
Evidently our precious little liberals (not to be confused with precious little conservatives) have launched have launched numerous (350) nuisance investigations into the White House since taking control of the House and Senate. I was going to bitch and moan about this, then I realized this is keeping the little dears busy thereby preventing them from doing further damage.
Shades of Watergate, or who burgled Obama (the messiah)’s Chicago campaign HQ?
Has Giuliani ‘bailed’ on SC?
Now it is time for an “I told you so” on Ron Paul.
Captain Ed on the most recent ‘hit’ on Fred Thompson.
Did Romney buy another poll?
Cash and carry Romney?
Mike at Flopping Aces has a rundown of Rudy’s day in SC.
Edwards haircut.
Immigration is a winner for the GOP right? Please tell that to Texas, where it is entirely possible, thanks to conservative talk radio and anti-immigration that we’re going to lose the state! Our precious little bigoted conservatives are going to achieve the unthinkable, and turn the most red state in the nation blue.
“…"There's a certain inevitability in demographics," he told me. "We knew that if we could win 40% of the Hispanic vote," as Mr. Bush did in 2004, "we'd control Texas until 2030." But in 2006, the number of Texas Hispanics who voted Republican fell to between 30% and 35% (depending on the poll).
This shift alone spells trouble for Republicans. Many conservatives may not want to hear it, but Mr. Masset puts the blame on talk radio and cable TV reaction to immigration reform. He says an uncompromising attitude toward comprehensive reform and appeals to fear sometimes carry a whiff of racism that alienates Hispanics. "Houston is no more than six years behind Dallas," he warns.
And if the demographic shift continues to gain momentum, there's a real possibility that Democrats could achieve a majority in the Texas House by 2010. In 2003, Tom DeLay helped redraw the state's congressional districts to give Republicans six new seats in Congress. In just a few years, Democrats could turn the tables. Mr. Masset sums it up this way: "This thing with the Latino vote is deadly serious."…”

My first impression of the new PM Gordon Brown was, “We’re screwed”. Read Atlas Shrugs today. I am afraid first impressions are usually right.
