It’s like this.  I just don’t feel like blogging today.  What you see here is what you get.  It’s a little juicy and I’ve come down hard on Malkin.  She probably considers me a troll, but then I consider her a racist.  I don’t like people who dance around a subject and manipulate things when they want to hurt someone’s reputation.  It’s that plain and simple. (You know I don’t feel like blogging when I am fighting the urge to play solitaire.)

A MNI RANT
Okay, I played 3 games of solitaire FINALLY won.  The graphics made me dizzy.  I’m glad I did.  While I was playing I was listening to O’Reilly as he discussed the ‘hate’ bloggers on the left, ignoring the ‘hate’ on the right.

One of the problems is the fact that conservatives don’t seem to “get” the fact that just because a person is conservative, they are not instantly good, credible, or perfect.  Just because someone is liberal doesn’t guarantee that a person is evil, stupid, mendacious, and dumb. Conservatives need to be “mature” enough to realize that something very strange is going on, and the “conservative” today is someone who would be laughed at even five years ago for being “extreme” by other conservatives.

O’Reilly castigates liberals in the House and Senate who quake at the antics and the demands of the far left.  The problem is he doesn’t seem to notice that there are any number of conservatives in the House and Senate who are so terrified of the extreme right that they are no longer able to operate on their own.  If a Senator or Congressperson has the obscene nerve to cross one of the paragons on the far right, or to cross a far right blogger they too become the target of right wing hate.  Look what they did to Chris Cannon.  Look what they are doing to Lindsey.  Funny, but it’s vogue to deplore the same actions by the left, but one must join in, mob style, with the right wing purveyors of hate.

What Michelle Malkin is doing to Lindsey Graham is wrong.  It is deplorable.  It is immature, juvenile, reeks of a small child having a temper tantrum when they are crossed. When the far left goes out after one of the select (conservatives who do nothing but pander to the far right bloggers) there is great weeping, wailing, gnashing of teeth, renting of garments, throwing on of ashes, and downing of sack-cloth as the far left blogger or operative is figuratively keel-hauled.  If you are unfamiliar with the term ‘keel-haul’, look it up. It was a horrific way to be punished.  This is what right-wing bloggers do to anyone who dares to cross them.

I am tired of rude, nasty, conservatives who are more interested in looking cute, hearing themselves talk, and promoting the canards of special interest groups.  I am tired of these people not stopping to examine who these special interest groups are. I am tired of putting up with conservatives who whole-sale agree with these people and pretend to be goody-two-shoes. It is time to stand up for what is right and denounce what is wrong.

I’m sorry, but I think people like Peter Brimelow, Pat Buchanan, John Tanton, Sun Myung Moon, Sam Francis, Chris Simcox, Jim Gilchrist, and the like are wrong.  They are pushing once good people into a conservative mind-set that is beyond extreme and bordering not only on racist, but hate.  It is bordering on something that is not good, dark, and just plain evil.

Conservatives need to step back and do a little thinking.  They are aligning themselves with people who are connected to the forces of evil.  It’s that plain and simple.  It isn’t about illegal immigration.  It is about the KKK, white supremacists, and neo-nazis who have promoted the issue into a main-stream “conservative” cause.  And, if you doubt me, which you will because people like Michelle Malkin, Tom Tancredo, Duncan Hunter, Ron Paul, Pat Buchanan, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Newt Gingrich, and the good people at the Heritage Society, etc. can’t possibly have been bilked into falling for something like this.

Stop and examine the truth behind the Washington Times, Sun Myung Moon, and the current leadership of the Times and their white supremacist leanings. Look at Numbers USA, FAIR, and all the anti-immigration organizations.  Look at the truth behind the minutemen.

I am ashamed of today’s conservatives.  They’ve sacrificed right, honor and morality for political expedience and an agenda of hate.  I am still ‘conservative’ in my views, but I will never all myself “A Conservative” again.  I am too embarrassed to be in the ranks of the above.  I would rather be castigated and called ‘liberal’.  I would rather be laughed at.  Why?  Because I know the difference between right and wrong, good and evil, moral and immoral.

It’s too bad today’s conservatives have forgotten what these differences are.

CAT ATTACK
This afternoon, when I was doing some of my work, Doc Holiday was determined to “help”.  Her assistance became so annoying and so humorous I finally gave up and just detailed what she was doing.  Fortunately for me, it is now about 8:PM.  She’s sleeping off the antics of the day.

WATCH THE GEORGETOWN STRAW POLL SATURDAY:  According to SCpols.com, the Ron Paul people have purchased something like 300 tickets for the event.  Thompson (Fred)’s people have purchhhhhhhhhh (Doc Holiday attack)
“…straw poll in Georgetown Saturday likely won't be an accurate reflection of GOP voters in the Lowcountry county, but it means big bucks for the local Republican Party.
Supporters of U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, purchased 300 tickets, and supporters of former U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson have purchased 100 tickets, said Tom Swatzel, chairman of the Georgetown GOP. Tickets cost $10 each. That likely will skew the voting, but Swatzel said the point of Saturday's event is to raise money for the local GOP while also showing the grassroots strengths of the presidential campaigns….”

I think this shows us how valid straw polls actually are.

ON BARRY BONDS
Curt Schilling (R-Mass) does exactly what I would want to do, shoots his mouth off about Bonds and McGuire.  I’m glad someone as the fortitude to do so.  He’s going to make an EXCELLENT replacement for John Kerry (D-Vietnam).  Then this AM on Fox & Friends Gary Carter went after Bonds, stating that while he may end up with the ‘record’ Hank Aaron will always be The Homerun King and one of the Greatest Players Ever.  I agree!

I am being inundated with pornographic trackback spam.  Today it was worse than usual.  My morning usually begins with at least 500 pieces to be deleted.  If I don’t go online around midnight the evening before, it is even worse.  But today things have escalated.  I absolutely REFUSE to even open the urls to see what is there.  Once I accidentally hit one and it was so bad I nearly threw up.  But – just the ‘authors’ and the titles used today are so filthy I can’t even repeat them.

Hedgehog  reports the world as we know it (my take on the development) may come to an end as Cambridge hired a CHRISTIAN to fill the Lucasian Chair in Mathematics, recently vacated by Stephen Hawking and once held by Sir Isaac Newton.  Lord Help Us All!

Speaking of which, perhaps the Book of Jeremiah has been confirmed!

A MINI RANT
Ankle Biting Pundits (How about cat constantly licking hand pundit? Or Doc is driving me crazy!)    On the latest Federal ruling against the racists in Hazelton, Penn.  I’ve been wondering about all of these anti-immigration laws different communities are passing.  I have a feeling we’re going to end up with a major constitutional show-down before it’s over for reasons that may not have anything to do with illegal immigration. How much of this is States’ Rights over Federal Rights?  (Doc and I are now fighting over my fingers.  I lost.   We’ve just compromised. I hung a ribbon from the ceiling fan for her to chase.  She is now highly insulted, and flounced off the table.)

To me, something reeks of the problems this nation was facing before the Civil War.  (Doc is back)  In many ways The War (as it is still known in the South) was as much about States’ Rights as it was slavery.  The slave states wanted to continue slavery but the Feds told them they couldn’t.  So, they rebelled.
“…U.S. District Judge James Munley said the city of Hazleton, 100 miles north of Philadelphia, was not allowed to implement a law that would fine businesses that hire illegal immigrants and penalize landlords who rent rooms to them.

"Federal law prohibits Hazleton from enforcing any of the provisions of its ordinances," Munley wrote in a 206-page opinion following a federal trial in which Hazleton's law was challenged by civil rights groups.

The city of 30,000 blames a recent rise in illegal immigration for boosting crime and overburdening social services. The law was passed in July 2006 but was not implemented because of a court injunction won by opponents.

About a third of the city's residents are immigrants from Central America and around a quarter of the immigrant population is believed to be undocumented, according to civil rights campaigners.

Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta said the city would likely appeal the decision.

"I believe both sides realized this wasn't going to be the last day. This small city isn't ready to stop fighting yet," Barletta told CNN.

Dozens of towns and cities have modeled their own immigration laws on Hazleton in a bid to deal with an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants living in the United States….”

I was wondering about the Civil Rights aspects of it.  Have we finally reached the point where we are ‘civilized’ enough to allow the basic “civil” rights of an individual whether they are here legally or illegally to be put ahead of other laws?

I suppose it brings us to this simple question:  Do people who are here illegally deserve the same basic civil rights as people who are legal?

Have we evolved enough as a civilization and as a society that we are finally mature enough to ask this question and have this discussion?  Gene Roddenberry would be proud.

I can imagine the responses by the far right today.  I think maybe it is time to start thinking about
While everyone is hyperventilating over the Hazelton Ruling, there’s a heck of a lot more to it, trust me.
“…Update:  In a ruling more than 200 pages long, the court struck down the Hazleton ordinance on a number of grounds under federal and state law.  Among other things, the court found that the Hazleton ordinance was both expressly and impliedly preempted by federal immigration law (and distinguished DeCanas v. Bica (1976), which refused to disturb a state law outlawing the employment of undocumented immigrants, on the grounds that Congress passed the Immigration Reform and Control Act in 1986 and now prohibits the employment of undocumented immigrants), parts violated the Due Process Clause, and that Hazleton violated Pennsylvania municipal law by acting ultra vires on immigration…”

Doc Holiday has just been banished from the table.  Problem is she won’t go. She is not biting me and smacking my hand.  All I did was ask her to move.  She was reclining, half her body on the MacBook Pro.  Okay, I admit it is nice and warm and she is a sucker for a nice warm place… but!  She had her head on my right arm.  That was find until she started gnawing on my fingers.  She has now recovered her dignity and is scratching her right ear.

She’s back, licking my hand.

1:36PM MT I’I just forcibly removed her from the table.
1:39PM MT  Doc is back on the table beside the computer, rubbing her head up against the screen.
1:40 PM MT  I just noticed she is sitting here.
1:42PM MT Doc is purring
1:43PM MT  She’s still sitting by the screen, purring, fighting to stay awake.  Her eyes are closed and like a ‘human’ person she shakes her head every few seconds to wake up.
1:44 PM MT  I caught her just before she hit the power button!
1:45PM MT She’s now reclining, her head resting on my right arm.
I give up, she wins.
1:46 PM MT I hit a web site that has music.  She’s now awake, her paw dangerously close to the power button, again.
1:56 PM MT She was quiet for awhile, sitting, up, now she’s back reclining, ready to start another finger battle.
I give up and head to the bank and run errands.  Maybe she will calm down by the time I get home.

MALKIN GETS IT WRONG
Why does Malkin have such an irrational hatred of Lindsey?  Just read her posting today.  She is starting to look petty and very small over the way she is treating him.  It doesn’t look good.  It isn’t rational or logical or – Christian. Malkin claims to be a Christian.  We, as Christians, are required to “Forgive us our trespasses AS WE forgive those who trespass against us.”

…“The Corner has some back story. Yeah, Lindsay Grahamnesty was involved, but the movers and shakers were solid enforcement-first senators like John Cornyn. Oh, and if Grahamnesty think this rectifies all his smearing of grass-roots conservatives as bigots, he’s delusional….”

Oh, she’s still pissed because Lindsey gave a speech calling people like her BIGOTS.  I suppose if I refused to give up my associations with people like Peter Brimelow and Vdare I’d be a little sensitive about this too.  So, to reduce Lindsey’s efforts on this Amendment she quotes Kathryn Jean Lopez, another irrational anti-Hispanic person from National Review.
Girls, this is getting real old, real fast.   Let it go, Michelle.  You are WRONG.  You are acting like a racist bigot when it comes to Hispanics.  You’re getting a little over the top.  If you aren’t careful, you’re going to blow it.

Malkin is so irrational she is ignoring the facts.  Check out this piece from The Palmetto Scoop that I highlighted yesterday.  This completely disproves her comment.  Sorry, but Lindsey was one of the ‘movers and the shakers’.   Maybe Michelle Malkin needs to read Strata Sphere today and AJ Strata’s take on the need to show respect and start behaving like grown ups.

This comes from Captain Ed.
“…UPDATE: The Graham amendment passed 89-1. The lone holdout? George Voinovich, R-OH. Ten Senators did not vote, including Norm Coleman for obvious reasons, but also presidential contenders John McCain and Barack Obama. Kent Conrad and Ron Wyden were the two Senators who complained that they did not get the opportunity to vote in support of the amendment….”

He refers to it as the “Graham Amendment”.  Get it – GRAHAM, not Cornyn.

Does anyone think the whole Obama dust-up with Hillary is anything more than a disparate Barack Obama trying to pander for media attention?

Now this is starting to get fun.  You gotta love Sam Brownback as he continues to hit Tom Tancredo for his association and the $25,000 or so he’s taken from John Tanton (one of Planned Parenthood’s most vocal supporters) over the years for immigration reform.  Now that senile old bat, Phyllis Schlafly   is getting into the act, standing up for widdle Tommy Tancredo.

Captain Ed is echoing my concern about Gordon Brown.  The day he took power, I think I blogged, “We’re screwed”.  Looks like, unfortunately, I am right.
