Rumsfeld is having a miserable time at the Spa.  Hondo Kitty is feeling better.  I’ll let you know tomorrow what is going on with Rumsy.

MY MINI RANT
I keep harping on the absolutely deplorable way conservatives are treating my friend, Lindsey Graham because I know him.  To me he is a barometer.  I know what he believes and how to gage things.  So, when good, upscale bloggers like Malkin and Captain Ed go down on his case, it makes me wonder just what the H-E-Double-Toothpick is going on out here and who is calling the shots.  Well, I know who is calling the shots – John Tanton.  The fact is, he has issued a fatwa demanding Lindsey’s head. http://www.usirp.com/

Frankly, I don’t know how such decent people like Captain Ed or Michelle Malkin have been assimilated into Tanton’s ultra liberal, planned parenthood, pro-abortion, pro-enviromental wacky world. Do they know who they are in bed with and because Tanton’s anti-immigration agenda reflects their own, they just don’t care?  Or do they believe the same thing?  Tanton is known to be a rank racist.  Are those who embrace his ideas the same people?

I think we also need to face the fact that our wacky and wild out of control conservatives are really pissed with George W. Bush.  Since he is no longer running for office, they can’t go for his jugular.  But – they can vow vengeance on anyone who supports him – thus they are out to irrationally destroy people like Lindsey. Their behavior is childish.  It is arrogant.  It is irrational.  It is destructive.  It will ultimately destroy their credibility.  You don’t like down with dogs and not get up with fleas.

From today’s Opinion Journal’s Political Diary by Taylor Buley
“…"The Republican candidates have blown off Hispanics in Florida," noted state Rep. Juan Zapata, a Republican who helped bring the NALEO event to the state. Added state Rep. Julio Robaina, also a Republican: "I'm somewhat offended because this is about Hispanics, not about politics."

True, NALEO may be a predominantly pro-big government organization, but Republican Hispanophobia is a major miscalculation. The event is the nation's largest gathering of Hispanic elected officials, local party representatives and event organizers. Not to mention it was held at the all-American venue of Walt Disney World. Meanwhile, the GOP abandoned the field to a parade of Democratic hopefuls, including Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards, who decried the idea of a border fence ("crazy!" said Mr. Edwards) -- and implied at every opportunity that the GOP was simply anti-Hispanic.

John Bueno, NALEO's outgoing president, told National Public Radio: "Latino voters are getting smarter, they're getting more organized and there's going to be repercussions, I think, coming form the Latino voters for elected officials that are not listening to them."

The great migration of conservatives has begun.  Frankly don’t let the door hit you on the way out.  There is a blog rumor that Hannity has quit the GOP.

Racists won the day and the GOP gets the blame.
The most fun of this whole mess is the fact that our blessed conservatives have been totally and completely manipulated by a bunch of pro-abortion liberals. Funny, but I once thought conservatives had standards, but evidently, when making a deal with the devil, they have surrendered those standards.  Surrendering standards makes it much easier to hate.  You have been snookered and played for fools.

“…John Tanton is a retired Ophthalmologist from Michigan. He started off with environmental conservation as a member of the Sierra Club and the League of Conservation Voters. Tanton’s environmental concerns led him into theories of population growth and the negative impact on the environment. Zero population growth became Tanton’s concern. He opened the first Planned Parenthood Chapter in Northern Michigan. He chaired the Sierra Club’s National Population Committee from 1971 to 1975. In 1973, Tanton joined Population-Environment Balance (also known as BALANCE). Tanton joined the BALANCE board of directors in 1980.

According to its website, BALANCE is “dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of life in the United States through population stabilization (through replacement-level fertility and immigration rates).” After the defeat of the immigration bill, BALANCE touted its influence in the big win…

“BALANCE and its ASAP coalition allies led the way to defeat the Senate Illegal Alien Amnesty Bill on a failed Cloture vote of 46-53! Our linking illegal and legal immigration via pushing for a zero-net immigration moratorium was crucial in defeating the Open borders proponents’ argument that ‘the solution to the illegal alien problem is to legalize them all.”

(Funny but I didn’t hear much about a zero-net immigration moratorium during all the debates and rhetoric flinging.)

In 1973, Tanton joined the National Executive Committee of Zero Population Growth and took the reins as President in 1975. Zero Population Growth changed its name to Population Connection in February 2002. The website for Population Connection has a bit of ZPG’s history…

“ZPG's early mission was relatively straightforward: raise public awareness of the link between population growth and environmental degradation and, in turn, encourage people to have smaller families. Thus, the corresponding message was simple: Stop at Two. ZPG's focus concentrated on reducing desired family size and ensuring the means and rights of human reproduction.”

“In 1973, the critical Roe v. Wade decision legalized abortion and elective sterilization and its companion opinion, Doe v. Bolton, declared policies designed to restrict access to abortion unconstitutional. With the help of such groups as ZPG and with the leadership of "women's liberation" organizations, the idea of "reproductive rights" was now part of the national discourse. And Politicians starting taking a special interest in population issues.”

The Family Research Council is on record as stating that population control is “code for abortions, condom distribution and mass sterilization”. The combination of Planned Parenthood, population control, ZPG and BALANCE leaves little room for interpretation as to John Tanton’s view on abortion. His wife, Mary Lou Tanton, was also involved with Planned Parenthood and the Michigan Council for Study of Abortion in the early 1970’s….”

You have been manipulated.
AJ Strata feels “hate” is going to destroy the GOP.

The big problem with the right – and it is going to be their abject and complete downfall – is their HATE.   Hate is a terrifying thing.  It destroys the hater.  It is like a boom-a-rang, because it will sling back and rip the head of the hater.   Even reasonable conservative bloggers like Captain Ed have now fallen into the Hate Lindsey Graham Trap.   I think the real problem here is the fact that it is “SAFE” to express conservative hatred for Lindsey as a scape-goat for President Bush.  Let’s be honest here, the President is the real target – but our top tier bloggers want to continue to look reasonable.

Conservatives have become so involved in their personal hatred of anyone who opposes them, they do not realize they are as disgusting as Jim McDermott and his demands that Dick Cheney either resign or be impeached.  In fact, I saw very little comment on the topic last week.  Why?  Has Cheney outlived his conservative usefulness because EVEN HE opposed the abject will and demands of our blessed conservatives?  I see no difference in McDermott’s abjectly childish demands for a Cheney resignation and the temper tantrum the conservatives are having spewing their black ire against Lindsey.  Frankly I find their hatred puzzling and absolutely staggering in scope.  What kind of person claims to be a “Christian Conservative” but revels in hate?

Perhaps this is the best explanation of just who the right wing net-roots really are.  There is an ultra conservative, let’s call him extreme – conservative in the upstate of SC called Russ Cassell.  He’s been there forever, trust me.  I’ve even appeared on his radio show in ages gone by.  Our blessed extreme conservatives want him to run against Lindsey.  Here is a local commentary on the subject.

“…That’s the mantra some Upstate conservatives are chanting to encourage local right-wing radio host Russ Cassell to run against U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham in next year’s Republican primary.
Cassell, of course, couldn’t win in a million years.
He’s too extreme in his politics.
But it would be a hoot to see him run.
Just for the entertainment value.
You could count on Cassell to say some pretty wacky stuff.
He’s a loose cannon that blasts invective.
But in the real public arena — as opposed to the cozy, controlled confines of the radio studio — you can’t just insult someone with whom you disagree and then click them off the air.
Cassell actually would be held accountable for some of the crazy things he says.
And boy does he say some crazy things.
The other day, for instance, someone called Cassell’s morning show on WORD to say that when Lindsey Graham comes back to South Carolina, he should be arrested and thrown into prison — because of his support for the immigration bill.
Arrested?
You’d expect Cassell to tell the overwrought caller that maybe — just maybe — having a duly elected senator arrested for a political disagreement would be more characteristic of a Gestapo state than a representative republic.
But no.
Cassell AGREED with the caller but said the problem is this: State Attorney General Henry McMaster is too much of a “wimp” to actually arrest Graham.
Right.
Like I say, Cassell says some wacky stuff.
But some people in Upstate right-wing circles appear to want Cassell to run. The national right-wing shock-jock Mike Gallagher also encouraged Cassell to run….”

Michael Kraft, another unknown hater, is making a career out of his hatred of Lindsey.  Now he is demanding Lindsey quit in much the same way the Dems are demanding the same of Cheney.  Well, I guess Lindsey is in good company.

I know I sound like a broken record, but something strange is going on here.  Another “Hate Lindsey” conservative is someone named “Nancy Morgan” who claims to be a conservative editor from South Carolina.  She writes for the “Intellectual Conservative” what ever that is – but it claims to be “Christian”.  FYI – when someone must tell you they are “Christian” you’d better be careful.  She also blogs for “Right Bias” – which is NOT REPUBLICAN but obviously libertarian in scope.  This is the problem – LIBERTARIANS pretend to be conservative and they also pretend to be Republican in order to muddy the waters.
