Finally, after 5 days (count ‘em F – I – V – E   D – A – Y – S five days) I have located the specific monster that is ravaging my VAIO.  It is called vturo.dll.

 I’ve spent the entire afternoon fighting the blasted computer virus.  It isn’t an actual virus but an ad attack.  I finally reached the point where I had so much anti-spyware on it I nearly crashed the whole system.  I've just at lost patience with the who thing. 

MISS PIGGY UPDATE

I paid a hospital visit on Miss Piggy today.  She has started living up to her name, once again, and was napping in her litter box!  Now, that’s my girl.  I held her for about 20 minutes.  According to Megan, she is becoming very spoiled and wants to be held, constantly.  The best part was how she started interacting.  Last week she could not even lift her head.  Today she was all alert, watching everything, moving her little head with every movement.  She was more alert than I’ve seen her in weeks!  She is still painfully thin.  But – she is eating.  I took her about a dozen assorted cans of Fancy Feast.  While I was there she ate nearly a third of a can, just gobbling it like she was starving!  Dr. Franklin said they are waiting on her test results.  He is leaning more to a possibility that we just simply did not knock the problems she had on March 29.  As soon as he gets the FID (cat AIDS) results, he wants to do an additional liver scan.  Right now all her blood counts are very good, no liver or kidney problems.  She may just make it, if there is nothing internal or does not have FID. I just can’t get over the way the girls at the clinic are taking car of her.  Dr. Franklin said they carry her around all over the place, just loving on her.  He said he thinks the way they have loved and petted on her has kept her alive!  Naturally they are due for some very nice gift certificates.

Curt at Flopping Aces castigates the right for the same thing I’ve said, they are acting like crybabies and need to GROW UP!

Next to campaigning in SC with Ted Kennedy, the worst thing someone could do is bring in a Castro – Chavez loving liberal like Danny Glover to campaign.  Is Edwards trying to destroy his campaign?

I like DaveG’s Race42008 take on the debate this evening and on Giuliani.  I agree.  The man looked like the POTUS!

A MINI RANT

Winners, Losers & Whiners

After this evening’s debate, I do believe Rudy Giuliani is in the middle of a love affair – with America! I think everyone agrees Giuliani won this evening.  He looked Presidential.  He looked very much at home doing the audience thing, which is one of the weaknesses I’ve heard he has – not being comfortable with an informal setting.  He milked the audience like Bill Clinton!  He was charming, passionate, knowledgeable, and reminded me why I plan to vote for him!  He has Ronald Reagan’s passion and love for this country.  I don’t want anyone in the Oval Office who doesn’t love this great nation.  I also like his cure for bringing moderates back into the party!

The more I see of John McCain the more I like him. Tonight he looked like a true Senator – a statesman.  I think his reply to Tancredo’s comment about Spanish was just plain old absolutely perfect.  He all but called Tancredo the racist that he is.

Tommy Thompson looked good this evening. 

Then there were the also-rans.  They were just that – also rans.  Tancredo showed just why he shouldn’t even be in the House, let alone running for POTUS.  The rest of the little guys were just that – little and petty.  Duncan Hunter’s comment about moderates was disgusting and very telling. I don’t like the under current of racism that I felt from the conservatives, nor did I like their dismissal of moderates.  The little guys all talk a good worship Reagan game, but know nothing about his inclusive ness.  Romney was just plain bad.

Then there was the Whiner – Ron Paul.  He gets worse, doesn’t he?

The real losers were Fred Thompson and Newt Gingrich.  I think both hurt themselves this evening by refusing to play by the rules.  GOP primary voters have a tendency to go with those who play by the rules.  I think that is the real reason McCain lost in SC in 2000 – his staffers pumped up the nastiness and it cost him, big time.  I think the American people are basically fair.  They want their POTUS candidates playing by the rules, not running an ‘outsider’s campaign’.  I have a feeling Thompson is going to be like Romney.  He looks good early on, but doesn’t wear well.

Interesting WTimes piece on large scale organizations promoting immigration, pro and con.  I am surprised how ‘balanced’ it is.

Even Dems Can Be Christians!

Oh, I remember what my rant was going to be about today.  I had the misfortune to realize the local station that airs Rush was on when I started the Durango for the drive down to Glencoe to the pediatrician. Today his rant was the fact that evidently the only people who can be real, honest to goodness Christians are conservatives.  Boy oh boy is he stepping in it now.  I think one of the things we Christians are warned not to do is judge a person as to what they believe, assume those around us do not believe in Christ and then tell them The Good News. We are also to live a life where others can judge Christ in us.  This little Episcopal bird tells me some of our good “Christian” conservatives may be treading on thin ice here. One of the people I contact to pray for me is a very liberal Episcopalian.  I think God hears her prayers just like He hears the prayers of her best friend, who is a conservative Republican Episcopalian.  Frankly, I don’t think God pays much attention to Party Registration when He asks us “Do we or don’t we?” (John 3:16). 

Along this line, this evening, Tom Tancredo proved what a small, petty, pathetic little racist he is when he said he would tell GWB to hit the road and don’t look back.   Getting back to the above, I’ve always considered a hallmark of a person’s relationship with Christ to be their ability to forgive.

Now, I don’t know about you, but, as I mentioned above, I’m a fan of John 3:16.  I also believe in the confession and forgiveness of sins.  If Christ’s own prayer says forgive us AS we forgive others, then we are going to be in really deep papa cow excrement (my grandfather’s favorite profanity) if we can not forgive others.  I was listening to Rush spew forth and make fun of Hillary Clinton’s comment that she turned to God to get her through the rough times with Slick.  Frankly, I believe her.  Why?  Knowing his philandering and her temper, the very Hand of God must have been upon her, preventing her from dealing with him the way Lorena Bobbitt dealt with her husband.

This inability to forgive people who aren’t “Christian” conservatives, and to consider them – us – not to be Christians isn’t very Christian at all.  I just have this terrifying feeling that if Christ were alive today he might be the worlds most moderately liberal conservative of them all.  He told the rich young ruler to give everything he owned away to help the poor.  When he was being arrested he stopped and healed the amputated ear of one of his attackers.  He turned down the opportunity to establish an earthly kingdom and instead, died the death of the most common criminal, on the cross. 

I don’t think it is a good idea to judge liberals and Dems as not being Christian.  Somewhere I remember a verse about judging or else you might be judged.
