I’m theme blogging again today.  Last night my DSL went down for hours.  I was so exhausted around 2AM I finally went to bed.  Have you ever been so tired you couldn’t sleep?  Well, that was me.  Come to find out I have a bug!  That did not stop me from moaning and groaning as I watched Raymond and Maggie put the finishing touches on paint, shelves, and all of the downstairs redecorating, plus cleaning out the carport. Now all I need to do is clean up the train-wreck of the kitchen and re-do the bookshelves in my entry and the dirty deed is done!

We’ve discovered the kitties have a ‘hiding place’ in the guest room closet.  Piggy still hates me.  Rumsfeld went on a toilet paper binge today.  I knew it was him.  It was easy to tell.  He emerged from the guest room with TP wrapped around his little body!

This is one of the coolest tech developments in ages.  Just beam it down!

This evening I was listening to some PC dribble on the National Geographic channel about Cain and Abel - and how the Christian Crusades ended the Golden Age of Islam!  Talk about historical revisionism....how can we possibly defeat this enemy - both Jihad Islam and political correctness?

FOX is running a piece about “Illegal” children who cross from Mexico into El Paso to go to school each day.  One of the xenophobes quoted in the piece is TX GOP Congressman Ted Poe.  The Carpetbagger, a liberal site, points out a speech Poe recently delivered on the floor of the House where he incorrectly quoted Nathan Bedford Forest. Captain Ed weighs  and reminds us of Robert Byrd’s KKK background.    If Poe’s comments about the situation in El Paso had not been so outrageous I would not have even paid attention to the Nathan Bedford Forest dust-up.  I do think, though, people ought to be able to quote who they want and not be destroyed for it. Just how much speech is free?

The other stupidity of the Poe interview on FOX and the FOX handling of the situation is the fact that thousands of people cross the border from El Paso to Juarez every day.  It is one of the busiest ports of entry in the nation.  I think many of our most rabid anti-immigrant individuals are totally and completely ignorant as to the international flavor and situation of El Paso and the never ending border crossings.  I have friends here in Ruidoso who worked and sometimes lived in Juarez. Now retired my friend was the foreman of a large American industry based in Juarez.  His children would legally cross the border on a daily bases to go to school in El Paso.  They are American.  He is 3rd generation Brit.

Curt Schilling (R-Mass?) says Bonds cheated on his wife and baseball and admitted taking steroids.

How long are we going to put up with these disgusting Dems? Her disgusting fake royal person, Nancy I is now threatening a lawsuit against the President if he doesn’t do what she wants him to do.  Speaking of the Queen, did you seen the clip where Queen Elizabeth cut Nancy I!

MY RANT OF THE DAY

Archaeological Political Correctness

and

How It Corrupts History and Science

The corruption of archaeology for politics and political expediency is one of my favorite soap boxes.  I don’t think I’ve even ranted about it since I’ve had the blog.  I do suspect it is something I should remedy. Sondra Rubenstein’s American Thinker critique of Facts on the Ground, by  archaeologist Nadia Abu El-Haj of the Columbia University is case in point.

The most egregious example of political correctness and pandering run amok is the Native American Grave Repatriation Act, that requires all “Native American” remains and holy items be returned to the tribe of origin, which in government thinking is geographical location, not necessarily logic.  Countless amounts of scientific, cultural, biological, sociological, and archaeological, along with artistic knowledge has been lost because of political pandering for tribal votes

Because of political correctness and the desire not to offend Native American Pueblo tribes, among them the august and absolutely profound Hopi, archaeology is not allowed to even admit that the ancient Anasazi – oh wait, we are no longer to use the term “Anasazi” because that is insulting to the Pueblo Tribes.  “Anasazi” means “Ancient Enemy” in the Navajo language.  Heaven forbid the Navajo come out on top once in awhile.  Science  S – C – I –E – E – C – Eprovable, scientific fact – proven facts – archaeologists who are scientists are not allowed to even mention that the Anasazi, ancestors of the Pueblo tribes of New Mexico and Arizona, were cannibals.

Ancient American Magazine is one of the finest archaeological publications around simply because it is not politically correct and dares to chronicle “forbidden archaeology” or pre-Columbian New World contacts.  There is a massively rich documentation and archaeological trail of sites, art, inscriptions, and texts detailing not only the Norse exploration of North America ,Phoencisians Egyptians,  Romans, and Celts.  Instead, the overwhelming amount of evidence is considered ‘fringe’.

Why?

Our politically correct culture will not allow anyone or anything to suggest that inhabitants other than descendents of today’s Native American tribes were here before the arrival of ‘Columbus’.   Noted scholar Dr. Barry Fell became the object of ridicule in his life-time because of his ground-breaking research into pre-Columbian ‘America.  I highly recommend reading his books with an open mind, then embark on your own exploration of this nation. You may even find what I did.  One day, while photographing in Monument Valley, I discovered a petroglyph of what can only be a Celtic long boat.  The question is how did the petroglyph get there?

MY GIULIANI RANT

Rich Lowry’s Townhall hit piece on Giuliani coincides precisely with my proposed rant of the day.

Lowry and any number of our well being conservatives are having problems with Giuliani’s stance on abortion.  They are bending over backward to make sure everyone knows his position is complicated, contradictory, and not in sync with conservatives.    The more I hear from Giuliani, the more he expresses my views on abortion.  I hate it.  But, I do not want to see it completely banned.  There are times when it is necessary.  I know our most furious anti-abortion advocates don’t realize that women are sometimes raped or the victim of incest and become pregnant, but it happens.  And – just what if these women weren’t asking for it, as they would like us to think?

The worst of it is I hate agreeing with Romney, but his comment that the left welcomes people who were once anti-abortion, but are not pro-abortion with open arms.  The right holds their nose.  Something is wrong with this picture.  The very nature of the ‘Christian right’ ought to have room for reform and forgiveness on all subjects.

I have a feeling as more and more REPUBLICANS (there is a difference between Republicans and conservatives) hear Giuliani’s abortion comments the more and more comfortable they will become.  There is a ring of honest truth to it.

Back in 1994 the great conservative savior, Fred Thompson was even pro abortion.
