With the exception of one or two things I am theme-blogging today.  Politics today and Islam manana.  In fact, I’ve already done much of tomorrow’s posting and if you read everything – all the links – your day is shot.

NO MISS PIGGY NEWS:  I am going with the theory that no news is good news.  Unless she takes a turn for the worst, I think we are probably in a holding pattern until the tests get back from that lab, and considering the holiday, I don’t expect to see anything until Tues or Wed.

Thank you for all the kind comments.  They are much appreciated.

MISC. NEWS

Let’s face it, the big question is what happens if a woman wins at Indy tomorrow?

MUST READ OF THE DAY:

The Anchoress has a “Martin Luther” moment with her list of why we should Impeach GWB.  I was getting a little hot under the collar until I read it.  You know, she is definitely right!  Bring it on.

Now that is a shoe store!  My regular readers I think will probably remember my affinity with shoes.  My closet is called “The Marcos Collection” if that helps describe the shoes!

The Roswell UFO theme park looks to be a go.  The city needs the money and the development.  And, it could take a little nip out of Ruidoso’s tourism.

More Chinese ‘crimes’.

WPost Op Ed on the new changes in Scotland, by Sir Sean Connery

Grand Old Partisan’s excellent commentary on what the GOP must do to remain viable.

So only 6 Senators read the document briefing on the buildup to the War in Iraq?  At least Lindsey was one of them! Right Wing News.     I think we should note that none of the POTUS candidates from the Senate

GLOBAL WARMING

STUPID AMERICANS (that’s how the title should read) have rejected anything to do with climate change.  Stupid is as stupid does.  At least we aren’t the ones telling everyone up ‘north’ to cut down their trees.  I thought we were to plant trees.  The best part about all of this is these people need to chill at the nearest Starbucks, have a coffee flavored Frappuccino with extra chocolate chips in it, no whipped cream and in honor of global warming, extra ice. They need to take a deep breath, and just kick back and smell the coffee.  Evidently we are not going to cut green house gasses.  Good.  Someone needs to take the lead on heating up the atmosphere so we don’t sink into another ice age.

Oh, and George Bush is a stupid, elitist, moron. If this is what GWB is, what does that make Hinny Penny Algore? (Don’t answer that, you will probably reading it on a Sunday).

Flopping Aces on the debunking thereof

I think now is a good time to quote Robert Frost:

Some say the world will end in fire.

Some say in ice.

From what I’ve tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

But if I had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate

To know that for destruction ice

Is also great

And would suffice.

 PRIMARIES 2008

Giuliani

Giuliani looks good nation wide.  But it is those pesky little state by state primaries that worry me.

Giuliani goes after Edwards on the War on Terror.

Why Rudy Can’t lose.

Third Party Attacks begin

The spoiled brat conservatives aren’t going to play if Giuliani is nominated.  Now, is that very Christian?

Algore

Blogs for Bush is rather humorous about Algore with this one.

Hillary

Best title of the day goes to Race 42004 – “Hillary Cooties” I love it!

The Daily Howler – news from the other side of the aisle, and it is interesting.  Hillary as victim.    I seem to remember she does better as a victim.  In my way of thinking creating victim status for a woman running for POTUS is – can I use the word stupid?  She’s a very big girl and can handle the press all by her lonesome.  Direct Democracy is telling Hill’s supporters to reject sexism (what’s that all about?) and basically understand that Hill is the victim of an extreme right wing smear.  I thought one of the books coming out is by Bernstein.  Can he be called “Right Wing”? I never thought of Carl Bernstein as a tool of the right.  Let’s face it, the liberal Dems are as wacky as the extreme conservatives.  If someone on the left does something the left doesn’t like, that person is accused of being ‘right’.  If someone in the GOP is accused of doing something the wacky conservatives don’t’ like, they are accused of being “liberal” or RINO (a term I find disgusting and quite ironic considering the people who constantly use it).  At least they are both consistent.

Powerline

I think Ben Smith at the Politico has the best spin on things, “How To Kill a Book”.

Evidently there is some good dirt on the Clintons destined to hit the shelves shortly.  As Smith points out, putting up a fight before a three day weekend is interesting.

“…At 8:41 p.m. on Thursday, before The Washington Post story appeared, Media Matters for America,  a democratic-leaning group whose founders are close to the New York Democrat senator's presidential  campaign, launched a dense 2,713-word attack on Gerth. The reporter has been loathed by some Clinton supporters since he was the first national journalist to write about the Whitewater affair in 1992, an investigation that unpredictably would lead to Clinton's impeachment six years later. (Media Matters spokesman Karl Frisch didn't respond immediately to the question of whether his group had coordinated with the Clinton campaign.)…”

Does Hillary have a woman problem.

Clinton Care Reflux

Obama (the messiah)

Who wants the US out of Iraq?  Edwards, Obama, or Mookie Sadr?

Malkin on a “Gore-Obama” ticket.  My problem, which one is the messiah, considering both have a messianic complex!

Is Obama too liberal for Andrew Sullivan?

Is Obama the messiah or the liberal Reagan?

Hotair

 I love this!

““While Senator Obama’s two years in the U.S. Senate certainly entitle him to vote against funding our troops, my service and experience combined with conversations with military leaders on the ground in Iraq lead me to believe that we must give this new strategy a chance to succeed because the consequences of failure would be catastrophic to our nation’s security.   “By the way, Senator Obama, it’s a ‘flak’ jacket, not a ‘flack’ jacket.”

McCain

Obama’s McCain denial

The NRO view of the McCain flack flap.

“…You think Bush is incompetent and "his" war in Iraq is a terrible mistake?  Fine.  You think the price of that is that we should pull everyone out of Iraq even though we all know that will be a monumental victory for al Qaeda — geometrically abetting its future fundraising and recruiting for future terrorist attacks on America?  Fine.  But have the good grace to say so.  Don't give us this BS that you want to redeploy to fight al Qaeda, when the truth is that you want to "redeploy" to NOT fight al Qaeda…”

Flap

A MINI MINI RANT

The Flake v. the War Hero

So, Senator Obama, why don’t you want to fight Al Qaeda and protect your family and mine?  What is your reason?  I’m not going to be hysterical about all of this, etc. but are those stories about your childhood education in Indonesia true?  If John Edwards wasn’t running to go farther left than you, I would bring up that “Manchurian Candidate” thing again.   So, Obama ridicules McCain’s stroll through Baghdad.  It’s like this, no guts no glory.  I think once Mr. Obama has walked a mile in Senator McCain’s shoes, he can criticize him all he wants.  Until that time, maybe Mr. Obama should be a little more thankful for great, heroic men like John McCain.  Frankly, if you don’t know the difference between a flak jacket and a flack jacket, you come out looking like a flake!

Outside the Beltway is correct, but I need to have a little fun this weekend making fun of someone!
