Redford is doing better.  He has become a step-over cat.  I must step over him to navigate.  He could end up being a sweetheart kitty cat.  I’ve had a long day and am blogging lite.  Tomorrow may bring the new computer.  It will also bring the end of condo renovation.  I may have a long blog, then again maybe not

Josh Hancock RIP

Three cheers for John Trevolta – the least eco-friendly celeb on the block!

If you were to listen to the news today or read the news online, you would be shocked to discover that the GOP is in terrible trouble.  George W. Bush is toxic to the GOP.  We are going to lose everything in 2008. There is no hope.  The world is coming to an end.  We’ve lost the war – actually Bush lost it.  The world is going to h-e-double-toothpick in a hand-basket.  The globe is warming.  The GOP is doomed, I tell you….doomed!

Or, it is if you listen to the collective wisdom of William F. Buckley (who is a senile defeatist) the LATimes, the Boston Globe, etc, then you will feel the cold sharp slap of reality.  There is no possible way the GOP can regain its footing.  Conservatives don’t want Rudy.  They are waiting for a 2nd Coming of Ronald Reagan.  Dozens and dozens of Republicans in the House and Senate are going to go down in defeat.  It is all over but the eulogy as the Dems box GWB into a corner over Iraq  If that isn’t enough, the GOP is completely corrupt.

The only hope for the world is to turn to Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and the likes of John Murtha and cheer them on as they do everything in their power to completely destroy George W. Bush’s Presidency and George W. Bush the man.  In order for the “left” to destroy GWB, they must hand us a defeat at the hands of our enemy.    They are aided by conservatives who feel Bush has betrayed the legacy of Reagan.

All is lost….

These same Dems are thinking that they can come up with the magic number of 60 in the Senate in 2008.  NOTE to the teach ‘em a lesson conservatives:  Can you look at yourself in the mirror these days.  You did it. You wanted to teach the GOP a lesson.   And WFB thinks the GOP is in serious trouble.  Seems to me right after the 2006 election the Dems were in the same position.  But then WFB is one of the reasons we can think the out of control conservatives for betraying the GOP and the country last Nov.

Frankly, I think WFB is getting a little senile.

Then the Prez is so toxic, the GOP can’t find candidates or money, thus sayeth the LATimes.

According to Novak the GOP is doomed.

Is Bush toxic to GOP candidates?

Andrew Sullivan on the doomed GOP.

If the POTUS does not compromise with the Dems on the war spending bill, all is lost.

Tenet blames everyone but himself.

Bush will destroy GOP in 2008.

The GOP is completely corrupt – according to CBS. GOP corruption

Jawa Report

Or is it?

Murtha now says the Dems could considering impeaching The President of the United States.  Like a liberal friend once told me, payback’s hell. I would love to see him try.  The problem is we have some spineless turncoat Republicans who would go along with him.

Poisonous Pelosi? Oh, and she insults the leader of Columbia.

What if things are better than the Dems say?

What if Americans don’t like the way the Dems are acting?

What if….

Well, what if all the comments by the MSM and misc. conservative ‘minds’ is wrong?  I think it is. You can go around thinking the sky is falling if you wish.  Me?  I’m going to pick up the lemons that have fallen off the trees and make some lemonade!

According to a recent USA Today/Gallup poll, 61% of Americans oppose “denying the funding needed to send any additional U.S. troops to Iraq,” and opposition is up from 58% in February. (3/23-25, 2007).

A Bloomberg poll reveals 61% of Americans believe withholding funding for the war is a bad idea, while only 28% believe it is a good idea (3/3-11, 2007).

A recent Public Opinion Strategies (POS) poll found that 56% of registered voters favor fully funding the war in Iraq, with more voters strongly favoring funding (40%) than totally opposing it (38%); (3/25-27, 2007).

POS found also that a majority of voters (54%) oppose the Democrats imposing a reduction in troops below the level military commanders requested (3/25-27, 2007).

A separate POS poll finds 57% of voters support staying in Iraq until the job is finished and “the Iraqi government can maintain control and provide security for its people.” And 59% of voters say pulling out of Iraq immediately would do more to harm America’s reputation in the world than staying until order is restored (35%); (2/5-7, 2007).

A Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll show 69% of American voters trust military commanders more than members of Congress (18%) to decide when United States troops should leave Iraq. This includes 52% of Democrats, 69% of Independents and 88% of Republicans (3/27-28, 2007).

According to a recent Pew Research survey, only 17% of Americans want an immediate withdrawal of troops (4/18-22, 2007). That same poll found a plurality of adults (45%) believe a terrorist attack against the United States is more likely if we withdraw our troops from Iraq while the “country remains unstable”

Should a date for withdrawal be set, 70% of American believe it is likely that “insurgents will increase their attacks in Iraq” starting on that day. This is supported by 85% of Republicans, 71% of Independents and 60% of Democrats. (FOX News/Opinion Dynamics, 4/17-18, 2007).

An LA Times/Bloomberg polls reveals that 50% of Americans say setting a timetable for withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq “hurts” the troops, while only 27% believe it “helps” the troops (4/5-9, 2007).

Why are the Dems determined to go down in defeat?

“…But in the end there is no escaping that for many Democrats, this is all about politics. Both President Bush and the war in Iraq are unpopular, and the Democratic leadership hopes to capitalize by opposing both of them. "We are going to pick up Senate seats as a result of this war," Reid said candidly at an April 12 press conference. "Senator Schumer has shown me numbers that are compelling and astounding." To which Schumer, chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, added: "The war in Iraq is a lead weight attached to their ankle. . . . They are looking extinction in the eye." He spoke those words, Congressional Quarterly observed, "making no attempt to hide his glee."That glee is very telling. It would be one thing for lawmakers to conclude regretfully that America's campaign in Iraq has failed and that bringing the troops home is the least bad option left. Were that the case, voting to pull the plug would be a sad and painful duty, one no member of Congress would carry out with "glee."Yet when the House of Representatives voted last month to force a withdrawal from Iraq, Democrats were jubilant….”

You know, things are looking better already!

These people are blowing it.

I think 2008 could be a very interesting year.
