For those who did not read yesterday’s post, I have been delving into the roots of Mexican illegal immigration and have something quite interesting. I think before anything can be done, we must work to solve the roots of the problem.
My shelf brackets arrived at 6:30 this evening. The contractor never showed up today, but Maggie and Raymond came by and helped me fix the top shelf with my Native American art pieces. They look great! Tomorrow promises to be a crazy day so I’ve put a little more work in the blog today.
I think maybe we should have named Miss Piggy “Archie Bunker” because of her bed. If she can’t have it, no one is going to, even Rumsfeld! Her looks of disdain are being perfected, constantly. I still think she is too thin, but the sneezing has stopped. I think we are all just hyper about pet food these days.
I love the way the media is saying “The SUV carrying Governor John Corzine was going around 90MPH…” No one is saying the driver was speeding. It is the SUV’s fault.
EVIL PEOPLE
I don’t know how much you know about abuse or abusers, but when someone says “You caused me to do this” we are dealing with an abuser. I am also going to go out on a pop-psychology limb and make what is probably a very rash statement, but I am going to do it anyway. This sort of a statement comes from learned behavior. This is what you hear when a man beats his wife or girlfriend, then tries to kill them. “You made me do this”. There is no personal responsibility, no control of anger. It isn’t necessary. The abuser is the one injured, the one who is abused, the one who had no control over his or her abusive behavior. None is needed. The other individual is the one who causes the abuse.
“You made me do this” is quite often learned behavior, taught by an abusive parent. If you find someone like this, check their parents and family life. Somewhere you are going to find a disconnect or family situation where problems are occurring, but no one notices. Then, you have parents who are clueless. Or, parents are abusive. I heard one psychologist refer to the shooter as disturbed, but let’s face the fact he was a sociopath. The latest work on the subject seems to point to a familial proclivity for the problem. If you add to it the possibility there were home problems, then it is a ready made scenario.
The bottom line here is this person would have killed someone sometime in his life. If not at VT, it would have been somewhere else. I think we are going to find he was a natural born killer.

The “Ismail Ax” is interesting. There is a concert pianist named Emmanuel Axe. Captain Ed has a comment about the “Ismail Ax” name. I am wondering if it is a comment in reference to Moby Dick, considering this two time loser was an English major. The other possibility is he was trying to cause trouble, making it look like a terror attack, or had indeed, converted to Islam and was contributing to the cause. There are also theories that it is in reference to a James Fennimore Cooper character. Sister Toldja is considering the possible Islamic angle, and also the Moby Dick theory. Right now, I’m going with Moby Dick. Sweetness and Light is going with the Islamic theory. Mac’s Mind goes for the Islam theory.

MY RANT FOR THE DAY
I think we have an additional problem here. Something is terribly wrong with boys and young men today. We need to face the fact that they just plain aren’t men and don’t know how to be men. They are a disgrace to this new “Greatest Generation” who are giving their lives for our freedom. I just wish there were more of them. Maybe the problem is parenting. I wish I could relate an example that I know, but I cannot. I just know the kid (age 19) I am thinking of had a jerk for a father, the worst kind of narcissistic role model whose solution to any problem was a bottle of very expensive scotch and a suicide threat. How can the son be a man if the father isn’t a man?
It looks to me this constant coddling of kids is having a terrible effect on the “adult” they may become. Add to it the fact that they are farmed out into day care kennels and you have people growing into adults who have no social skills. They have table manners that would humiliate gorillas. They don’t know how to act, dress or behave. And the young men of their generation have been so cosseted with bicycle helmets, no tag, soccer instead of baseball, that they are nothing but cry-baby sissies. I don’t know about you, but I find a world where they are the leaders is horrifying.
Charlie Rangel is right. We do need a draft – quickly – before we lose an entire generation to the good intentions of the liberals of the NEA and daycare.
