Is Sharpton Preparing to Step In and Fill the Void?

I Think I’ve Had Enough Global Warming for This Spring!

I am blogging lite again.  So far I’ve had a 12 hour day and it still keeps going!  It has snowed on and off all day.  Enuf with the global warming already yet.  I want global cooling!  Maybe then we could get a few warm spring days!  I still say if I were Algore and considered myself a person of “faith” I might be asking weather or not someone upstairs was ticked with me.  I don’t like the term “karma” but somehow Algore and his global warming is raking in “bad karma” points!  If I were a superstitious person I would say that someone upstairs is trying to maybe say that someone besides Algore and his hand picked scientists are in charge.

My condo looks like a bookstore gone bad.  The runners for the shelves are up, but I don’t have enough of the shelf braces t put shelves up, and it looks like I will not have additional braces until the end of next week!  My dream craft closet is finished, but it is now too cold to go out into the carport and work in it!  But, not to worry, my new “bar” is all set up, the gin is there, so we’re going to be just fine.  Maggie did a great job hanging my art after I left for the beauty shop.  She did better than I would have done.  We’ve tried to arrange things ‘gallery’ style this time.  I think it shows up better.

Rumsfeld was no help.  Fact is, he was locked up behind the pet gate most of the morning.  He has forfeited any and all privileges he has and probably will have for quite some time – the little escape artist!  Miss Piggy hung around for a little while to see what was going on, but then she gave up and is sleeping it off, somewhere.  I heard someone roaming through the piles of books, trying to get to the asparagus fern.

Durn it is cold!

I noticed Miss Piggy sneezed a few minutes ago.

I also need to mention that the 23 year old son of our vet lost his life this morning by a self-inflicted shot-gun blast.  Please put the Franklin family in your prayers. Everyone is quite upset over it.

MY RANT FOR THE DAY

Last night I finally managed to get around to watching Glory Road.  I am glad I did the usual and did not see it until now.  I think because of the Don Imus fiasco I paid more attention to the story line of the all white basketball team being fully integrated, and going for the national championship.  The year was 1965.  I think I spent much of the time thinking of the struggle Hank Aaron had in his quest to become the all time Home Run King in 1973, 1974.  I also started thinking about Jackie Robinson and his struggle as the first African American to make it to the Majors.

The more I watched and thought about things, the more I realized there is a line, not only of good taste, but of basic human decency.  Let’s face the fact that what Imus did was disgusting and degrading.  I’m sick of bad taste and vile behavior.  Let’s chalk one up to the good guys.  What Imus did harkened back to those dark days when anyone who wasn’t WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant) was fair game.  When you consider all of this, it’s no wonder people are sensitive.  There’s nothing wrong with being a little sensitive once in awhile, especially if it makes you stop and think and try to improve your own behavior.

Racism is disgusting.  I don’t give a rip what anyone says, when someone, and I don’t’ care who they are, makes a comment like Don Imus made, just deal with the fact that someone isn’t going to make this kind of a statement if something like this isn’t etched in their mind.  On the other hand, people have the right to apologize and seek absolution for their transgressions.

I don’t mind Imus losing his job.  As far as I am concerned, he is one less liberal

we’re going to be forced to tolerate.  What I do not like and what truly bothers me is the fact that there are stories that Barack Obama was instrumental in Imas’ fate.   If this indeed true, I think it is a very disconcerting and potentially dangerous development, chilling actually.   I don’t like the idea of a person running for the most powerful office in the world calling for anyone to be fired (unless it is Barry Bonds).  It is fine to chastise a person, but throwing the proposed power of one’s position behind the removal of anyone (Piggy is sneezing again – this isn’t going to be easy – more medications may be needed and she already runs when I go to touch her after the last round).

The exquisite irony of all these liberals damning Imus is quite wonderful, actually.  His venue was by far the most powerful liberal (Dem) radio voice in the nation.  Now the liberals have silenced him. It is going to be fascinating to see who fills the vacuum his departure creates.  Let’s face the fact that Al Franken can’t cut it.  Air America is DOA.  The only liberal I see who could possibly fill the void is Alan Combs.  I wonder if we aren’t going to see a ‘conservative’ end up in that valuable time slot.  If so, the Dems are going to be the ones who are going to suffer.

Was Imus fired because Obama was grand-standing and demanded it?

Is Obama having delusions of power and glory?

My next question is as follows, are the liberals going to go after conservative talk now?  Let’s face it they will try.

Oh my gosh – guess who has a radio show that needs a national audience? Al Sharpton, who else?  Could his crocodile tears over the incident be nothing but a false front – a big fat liberal lie – so he can get the slot?
