AMBER ALERT

Have you heard the story about the toddler who was in the back seat of a VW when it was carjacked the other day?  His name is Isaiah Amara Vargas I just discovered he is connected to  a high school friend of a friend of mine who has a coffee shop, Javalinas,  in Tucson.  This is the email Bonnie sent out today.  And there is more information this afternoon.

If you've been on my mailing list for awhile, you know that I only send out a second email in a week if it's something really important.  My best friend from high school's step-grandson has been abducted, and I want to do everything within my power to help find him and bring him back.”

I’ve spent some of the afternoon working on an article about trackbacks.  It is quite fascinating.  You’ll be hearing more about this in the next few days.

Summer officially begins tomorrow evening.  Thank heavens!  (For the ignorant, that’s Major League Baseball’s Opening Day!)

Piggy is enjoying improved health, i.e. she’s getting into trouble!  I had to rescue her today.  She went up under my antique club chair and her rear leg (don’t remember which) became ensnared.  I ended up cutting her out.  She is quite good about taking her meds – so far.

Blogging Chicks is having a carnival on Sunday. The theme is Easter or Passover.

So here I sit, trying to figure out how to avoid going to church again tomorrow.  Frankly, I am getting way to old to be lectured by my mother as to my abstinence.  I don’t like Palm Sunday.  To me it is more about mob rule than anything else.  It reminds me of fair-weather Conservatives who wave palms around and welcome a new Republican president only to turn on him when he doesn’t do exactly and precisely what they want. It is all about the betrayal.  And – this one burning question:  If Christ were to be here on Earth today, would we be able to recognize Him?

The pet food recall becomes even more alarming – esp. for cats.  This is Purina’s version.   I’ve pulled up just about everything but Meow Mix.  I’m chucking the Iams for everyone, Rums and the cats.  I just wish I knew when the tainted CF was manufactured.

New information surfaces about Amelia EarhartAfter reading this, one wonders if, as is quoted, Earhart weren’t a “gooney woman” would there have been a more thorough search and rescue plan.

THOSE ADORABLE LITTLE LYIN’ DEMS!

MY RANT OF THE DAY

I wish I knew where to start in my litany of complaints about the Dems and what they are doing to our country.  I keep going back to the 2000 election and the Dems’ shock and ah over the way GWB stole the election from Algore.  From that moment on they, and their little friends in them MSM have detested him.  I keep asking myself if this hatred goes all the way back to the Clinton Administration, but just don’t know the answer. Hate is such a horrific thing. So is revenge.  They take the place of logic, sucking in everything – giving nothing but pure dripping malice.

An individual who hates this way is one thing, and trust me, I’ve been on the receiving end all too often.  But, when a group of people band together to purposely set out to destroy a good and decent person, they have passed all reason.  There is nothing going for them but sheer nasty hatred and emotion.

Because of their hatred of George W. Bush the Dems are willing to sell out the country.  They are willing to go down in defeat, rather than doing what is right and honorable.  For the sake of hate they are willing to consort with our enemies.  For the sake of hate they are willing to destroy good and decent men.  For the sake of hate they are willing to trash our Constitution and wreck havoc on our nation.  But what the heck – they are Dems.  No problem, man.

I think Bill Kristol is right.    Why isn’t the President fighting back?  Why don’t any of us fight back when put in a situation where we know we are right, and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.

“An experienced Republican operative of our acquaintance--normally a man of sanguine disposition--said it all last week. After denouncing the amazing irresponsibility of the Democratic Congress, after lamenting the refusal of much of the media to report progress from Iraq, after noting the apparent incompetence of the attorney general, after wondering why the secretary of state seems to be making herself irrelevant--he came as close as he ever does to exploding. "But all this doesn't matter. It's really about Bush. Doesn't he understand he's walking around with a 'Kick Me' sign on his back?" Surely President Bush must realize that the Democratic Congress is not merely struggling with him over policy, or jousting for political advantage. The Democrats in Congress are trying to destroy his presidency. They are trying to cripple his ability to govern for the rest of his term. And they are not far from succeeding. Will Bush fight back?...”

Then we have the specter of the Speaker of the House telling the President of the United States of America to sit down and shut up.

“…The Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, told Mr.  Bush to "calm down". She accused him of ignoring the will of the American people and of not understanding that "Congress has changed"…”

And the Speaker will not do anything to censure Iran over the capture of the British sailors.

“..PELOSI TO BRITS: DROP DEAD! - Yesterday we wrote about Nancy Pelosi's refusal to allow House Resolution 267, a call for the release of the captured British sailors and marines who are being held in Iran, to be voted on by the House of Representatives. Despite pressure from Republican Congressmen, Pelosi remained adamant and the House adjourned today without considering the resolution...”

Thomas Sewell wrote in the Washington Times:

“…One of the dangers in being a demagogue is that some of your own supporters -- those who take you literally -- can turn against you when you start letting your actions be influenced by realities, instead of following the logic of your ringing rhetoric. That is what seems to be happening to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other liberal Democrats in Congress…

…The demagoguery of the Democrats has already put them in the position where a successful conclusion of the Iraq war before the 2008 elections can be a political disaster for them. If the recent increase in our troops in Iraq, and their freer hand in dealing with the terrorists there, reduces the violence enough to stabilize Iraq enough for American troops to start coming home before the 2008 elections, the Democrats will have lost their gamble.

Only an American defeat in Iraq can ensure the Democrats' political victory next year. Their only strategy is to sabotage the chances for a military victory in Iraq without being held responsible for a defeat. That is the corner they have painted themselves into with their demagoguery that even their own supporters see through.”

Don’t just take my word for it!

PRIMARIES 2008

Why are conservatives so terrified of Giuliani?

Romney is now going after Giuliani’s family.

Our 2nd favorite liberal site, Tancredo Watch, enjoys tweaking TT every once in awhile.

Huckabee just isn’t cutting it.

With luck, some of our conservative bloggers are starting to regret their attack on Judi Giuliani.

Part XXII of If I Only Had A Brain by Mitt Romney.  Nope, you aren’t gonna believe this one. /
