Today's Rant:  The only way we can truly understand the enemy of Islamic terror is to understand science fiction.  I kid you not!

Okay, the world has just become too weird.  Seneca, SC is now on the political map.  (Considering both Edwards and Lindsey were born there…and I grew up there…)

Oh, no cat news today.  Bat Masterson is settling down and accepting his lot in life, comfortably, I might add.  Rumsfeld and Mommy Cat are ‘officially’ having a ‘fling’.  Just don’t ask!

Today I had the very good fortune to talk to Fr. Anna, (aka HotHands, aka, The Reverend Anna Gaddy, aka Franna) who is the object of the dedication of my recently completed book on praise.  We call her HotHands because Anna has a remarkable gift of healing.  Her love for Chris is so strong, and her gift so great, she has allowed herself to be conduit of healing, never taking the glory for herself, always giving it to her Lord and Savior!  If you read The Pink Flamingo yesterday,  you will know I am a little down in the dumps.  Funny thing, after talking to her today, I decided to clean out my ‘deleted mail’ box and found a letter from someone who had read TRAVESTY and wrote to complement me about it.  The letter has been sitting there for weeks, waiting for me to open it.  To me, that’s enough.  One person said something nice and that’s all it takes.  This evening I was basically able to prove that someone has ‘set me up’.  I don’t know who.  By now I really don’t care.  They think I do, but I don’t. Prayer and Praise is a wonderful, liberating thing!

TODAY'S RANT

Anna is a huge fan of GWB’s and probably prayers harder for him than anyone besides his mother!  We were discussing the problems of the world today and how horribly he is being treated.  She then mentioned it is almost as though some of his critics have blinders when it comes to the threat of radical Islam and terror. Like everyone else, it is something I have been pondering for months.  Why can’t the Western World see the threat?  This evening, I think I understand the problem.

If you are not a science fiction fan you are going to have difficult understanding my analogies.  The problem is the fact that we have never dealt with an enemy like radical Islam, never.  The closest relative would be the Japanese culture   of Kamikaze. Other than that, our minds, so steeped in Western Civilization, cannot fathom – we simply cannot comprehend a group of evil men who are determined to push our world back into what is literally The Dark Ages.  Then there are the liberals who think everyone must be accommodated, no matter what.

The only way to understand what we are facing with Islamic extremists is to deal with it like we deal with invading aliens in science fiction.  They ain’t like us.  They may look like us, but they aren’t like rational, normal humans at all.  It is remarkable they are able to breath the same air and need water to survive.  They are that completely alien.  We would know how to fight them if they had tentacles like the creatures in Independence Day, or green blood and pointed ears like Romulens, or were human-cyborg combinations like the Borg.  The problem is they look like normal human beings, just like Invasion of the Body Snatchers.  They are as ferocious as the Klingons without their sense of honor and morality.  They are as adaptable as the Borg and as larcenous and immoral as Jobba the Hutt. The mullahs who brainwash their people are like dark Lords of Sith with Mullah Omar as Emperor Palpatine (I use MO because I think OBL is dead).   We’re not talking sweet and cuddly aliens like tribbles, but cruel vicious monsters with ravenous appetites like the Alien.  It is almost as though they implant their babies inside innocent victims where they eat their way out, consuming and destroying that which gave them sustenance for growth.  Islamic extremism requires absolute obedience like the Freman of Dune and mindless devotion like the cults of Bejor.

The bottom line is simple.  We are dealing with an alien culture that is completely incompatible with our own.  Until the powers that be, the MSM, and the majority of our ‘western’ population understands this, to quote C3PO, “We’re doomed.”

Why should people be forced to apologize for something they did not do?  The fact that the state of Virginia is apologizing for slavery is absolutely ludicrous to me.  The people alive today, unless they are of very ancient age, are not responsible for the institution of slavery.    GOP Bloggers

CONSERVATIVE GONE WRONG

2ND RANT OF THE DAY

I’ve been meaning to comment on TX governor Rick Perry’s decision to require every girl in Texas to be vaccinated for HPV but just haven’t had the time.  Thanks go to Harold Hutchison for reminding me by his post over at Called As Seen.As usual I agree with his take on things.

To me it isn’t a morality issue. I think every child should be required to take the vaccine the same way they do polio, etc.

Currently 1 in every 5 girls - 20% - of if you have five girls in your family one of them will be either raped or molested by the time they are 18.  This is a proven stat.  What if - down the line, because of this crime, they end up dying of cervical cancer.  I'm sorry, but why victimize a woman further with a terminal cancer that COULD EASILY HAVE BEEN PREVNTED?

To me, to oppose this vaccine on grounds of morality is as barbaric and as backward thinking as are the Islamic officials who are trying to prevent children from receiving basic childhood immunizations.  I don’t give a rip about the morality of the situation.  Yes, abstinence is the only acceptable policy, but is it a girl’s fault if she is raped or molested?

For our good people who are so damned self-righteous that they feel abstinence is the only cure for HPV, it’s like this.  They deserve a major razzberry award for their abject stupidity.  I don’t want to wish anything bad on them, but I do hope, some how, some where, the tragedy of child molestation and the after effects are brought home to them before someone in their family dies from this horrible, and completely preventable disease. For a child to be molested is bad enough.  Trust me, I’ve been there.  To compound it, 25 years down the line, when a person is truly dealing with the after-effects of molestation (been there and done that, and it does take 25 years for the mind to heal enough and be mature enough for a person to begin healing), that person must also deal with a completely preventable fatal cancer is just plain – criminal.  Frankly, as a survivor of childhood molestation, I would love to have the luxury of being able to know a fatal cancer was not hiding inside my body.  I’ve already dealt with melanoma.  I don’t want to go through another cancer.  I also don’t want to use my morality (that does indeed include abstinence) as a way of preventing a now preventable death.

PRIMARIES 2008:

Cheap Shots:  I found a piece today about Romney’s family having a polygamist side.  Anyone who has relatives who became LDS in the early days of the religion have the same thing, myself included.  I am descended from Paris Reidhead,  younger half-brother of John Reidhead, Jr. who became LDS.  John Reidhead, Jr. had a number of wives.  Our two sides of the family do not communicate, not because John Reidhead, Jr. was LDS and had several wives, but because he couldn’t stand his step-mother and referred to her as ‘that Carter woman’.  The entire family split apart because of this, not because that side was LDS.  So, anyone taking a shot at Romney because he is LDS and has polygamy in the family isn’t going to get a break from me.   Heck, I know of a branch of Reidheads who are still practicing polygamy.  They are a bunch of con artists who moved out of the town where I am now living about the same time I moved into it.  Then, they gave MY phone number out to all their creditors, etc.  After eight years I am still getting harassing calls about them. I have no earthly idea where they are and don’t care.   Captain’s Quarters   Wizbang

Outside the Beltway.  Political Pit Bull

Remember, I keep telling you Bill Richardson could be a huge problem for the GOP.  He is currently trying to mobilize Hispanics.  Don’t forget, the whole anti-immigration mess, has virtually destroyed the GOP in some communities.

I think Dean Barnett’s take on Romney is completely wrong.

The Rudy Store is up and running.

Hugh Hewitt’s interview with Giuliani.

Richardson’s foreign policy.

Rudy’s numbers.

Another Romney miss-step?

ELECTORAL CRUNCH - ALREADY YET!  We all know I am a political junkie, but is it a little early to be crunching electoral numbers?  NEVER!  What is interesting is the fact that Rudy could paint the map purple and red.

All these numbers suggest that if Giuliani/McCain or Clinton are the nominees, we won't see in 2008 the political contours we have been accustomed to seeing in presidential and House races from 1996 to 2004 and which continued roughly in 2006, with Republican percentages declining uniformly just about everywhere. The balance in California and the Great Lakes states wouldn't be much different from 2004, but many Northeastern states would be competitive (only New Hampshire was in 2004). The South would be less heavily Republican, leaving the Democrats with a couple of possible targets (Arkansas and Louisiana) in addition to Florida, which was a target in 1996, 2000, and 2004. Most of the Great Plains states would be out of the Democrats' reach, but their chances in Missouri would probably be better than in 2004, when it faded from the target list near the end.”
