FAIR?
First - a hat tip and a thank you go to Pink Flamingo reader Darryl who left this information as a comment on the article I did about Malkin, Tanton, & Planned Parenthood. FAIR (a recognized hate group) is pulling an all out blitz in Iowa this week to try and continue to brainwash good, decent conservatives who believe in national security. There are three objectives here. First - since Tom Tancredo threw in the towel and endorsed Romney, it is quite obvious that everything will be slanted in Romney's direction. Second - since most of the anti-immigration activists last week were in on a letter decrying Mike Huckabee as too soft on illegals, one of the objectives will be to destroy him in every way possible. Thirdly, because John McCain is starting to surge, the primary objective will be to completely destroy him as soft on immigration.
Romney is running a nasty anti-immigration ad against Huckabee.(From FOX)
"...On Monday, Huckabee started running a TV ad in Iowa promoting his plan to fight illegal immigration. "It ought to be at least as difficult to get across an international border as it is to get on an airplane in our own home town," Huckabee says in the ad. "We need to make it clear that we will say no to amnesty and no to sanctuary cities," he says. "Our government has failed us. Build a border fence. Secure the border and do it now."
For weeks, Romney's campaign has been wrestling over whether to run hard-hitting ads on what aides consider the former Arkansas governor's most vulnerable spots — taxes, immigration, ethics and prisoner parole — or go softer and gamble that Huckabee is an object of curiosity whose popularity will fade with scrutiny and wilt under the challenge of Romney's strong ground organization.
As Huckabee has risen, Romney has assailed him, particularly on immigration, but his criticism hasn't seemed to slow Huckabee's rise. Iowa Republicans also have received literature in their mailboxes characterizing Huckabee and three other Republican candidates as soft on illegal immigration. The mail piece specifically describes Huckabee as committed to "eligibility for state-supported college scholarships." Officials say more such direct mail pieces are planned along with the immigration TV ad. In the e-mail sent Monday, under the banner, "Those who know him the best," the campaign quotes Arkansas Republican Jackson T. "Steve" Stephens Jr. lamenting that he did not mount a planned gubernatorial challenge to Huckabee in 1991. "If I had it to do over again, I would probably challenge Huckabee," Stephens said in the column on TownHall.com, complaining about Huckabee's fiscal record...."

ALL ABOUT ROMNEY
Trust me when I say this is all about Mitt Romney now being the anointed one by the status quo anti-immigration hard-hitters. Considering the 521 money they control, this is going to be vicious before it is over. Remember, John Tanton is the most powerful person in the country. What he wants he gets. If this bunch has decided that Romney is their baby, then they will do everything possible to see that he is elected.
FROM DARRYL
"...Finally, I just heard on WYLL (Chicago), a Christian station will be sending Sandy Rios there! I guess people only embrace the celebration of live when it suits their needs. Anyway, I thought you should know. Below is the list of folks appearing with this group.
Organizers named the radio talk show hosts who will participate in broadcasts next week in Des Moines on illegal immigration:
- Jan Mickelson, WHO-AM, Des Moines .
- Michael McKoy, KWQW-FM, Des Moines .

- Bill Manders, KKOH-AM, Reno , Nev.
- Dan Rivers, WKBN-AM, Youngstown , Ohio .
- Steve Gill, WLAC-AM, Nashville , Tenn.
- Sandy Rios, WYLL-AM, Chicago .
- Martha Zoller, WDUN-AM, Gainesville/Atlanta, Ga.
- Jim Cates, KMAJ-AM, Topeka , Kan.
- Gary Sutton, WBSA-AM, York , Pa.

I thought you should know and I hope you speak out on this outrage! Speaking out against illegal aliens is one thing but establishing a relationship with a population control/eugenics organization that has a broader agenda is another!
God Bless,
Darryl..."

According to the NYTimes
"...The presidential candidates seem like they’ll be treading lightly during the days around Christmas, but one right-leaning organization is making sure no aspect of the touchy immigration issue goes unheard. From 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Dec. 27 and 28, Iowa airwaves will be saturated with debates about “amnesty,” the term used by conservatives to describe offering citizenship to illegal immigrants, and border control, as 22 radio talk show hosts from across the country descend on Des Moines for the Iowa 2007 Talk Radio Row, sponsored by the Federation for American Immigration Reform Congressional Tax Force. In describing why the event is necessary, Ira Mehlman, spokesman for the group, suggested that a majority of Democrats and Republicans were concerned that illegal immigration negatively affects the economy. Recent polls have indicated that immigration is among the top concerns of Iowans, and candidates do get peppered with questions about the issue on the campaign trail. The fact that the radio-talk-a-thon occurs right after the holiday is just a matter of the Iowa caucuses slated for Jan. 3, he said. Not everyone sees it that way. Several groups, including the Iowa Civil Rights Commission, Center for New Community and the Interfaith Alliance of Iowa and Action Fund, have slammed the F.A.I.R. radio blast...."
The racist edited WTimes take on things. The paragraph that gets me is the one that starts...without challenging any of FAIR's research...! Then the Group Think conservatives go along with anything the WTimes prints, believing that anything conservative = good and pure and anything liberal = evil."...This is the second radio row that FAIR has done this year. In April, the task force organized radio hosts in the District just before Congress was about to vote on an immigration bill authored by Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat. "That event led to one of the biggest public outcries against a piece of legislation and ultimately killed the bill," Mr. Mehlman said.
Without challenging any of FAIR's research, the Interfaith Alliance of Iowa and Action Fund painted FAIR as racists and cited the Chicago-based Center for New Community and the Montgomery, Ala.-based Southern Poverty Law Center, who say FAIR has deep ties to the nation's white-supremacist movement. It notes that the organization accepted more than $1.2 million from the Pioneer Fund, a group that has been described as a white-supremacist foundation.
"There is bitter irony in this hateful message spread during Christmas week," said Connie Ryan Terrell, executive director of the alliance. "Immigrants in this country work hard in often difficult conditions, and yet these anti-immigrant forces want to make them scapegoats for all that's wrong. To flood the airwaves with a fear-based message against immigrants is unacceptable and unwelcome in Iowa."..."
