JAMIE RANDOLPH
Last night I had the opportunity to meet Jamie Randolph, a hot young Memphis composer. His interest is in composing for soundtracks and his first one is out, and available from either his web site or from ITunes. The one thing I learned from Jamie is if you order off his web site he makes a little bit of money on the music. If you download from ITunes he makes practically nothing. Evidently ITunes works the same way as Amazon, which is why you don’t see my books on Amazon. They want 55% of the wholesale cut. When you do the math – there ain’t nuthin’ left for the other person.
Jamie is my sister’s first full-time employee at her soon to be opened Café Eclectic in Memphis. Her new web address is www.cafeecclectic.net (I think – not that the site is up yet). Jamie’s orchestrations in his compositions are reminiscent of the late, great John Denver. No, I’m not the one who picked this up – MY MOTHER DID!
If you want to get in on an exciting new talent, and one to be on of the “first” to discover it, now is a chance. Jamie Randolph has potential.
